Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

8:04 a.m., Tuolumne — A caller said a strange car was parked at his neighbor's house on the 16000 block of Madrone Circle overnight while the neighbors were on vacation.

10:10 a.m., Twain Harte — A real estate agent went by a house on the 22000 block of Red Wing Trail that should be vacant but saw a vehicle in the driveway.

12:31 p.m., Pinecrest — A woman said her sons were four-wheeling on a Forest Service road and saw a naked man with orange hair and a bushy beard on Leland Meadow Road.

2:19 p.m., Standard area — A man said gasoline was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 19500 block of Serrano Road. He said this is an on-going problem.

3:39 p.m., Jamestown — A man found a confused elderly woman in the middle of Highway 108. The man found the woman's identification in her purse and brought the woman back to her house.

5:19 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 18500 block of Gardner Avenue said items were stolen from her vehicle over the weekend.

5:41 p.m., Columbia area — A woman on the 11300 block of Columbia Village Drive said her wallet containing cash and identification was stolen from her unlocked vehicle overnight.

6:22 p.m., Jamestown — A Chip's Chevron clerk said a man in a blue car passed a counterfeit $10 at the convenience store on the 18100 block of Highway 108.

7:20 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said a man inside her apartment on the 17000 block of Seco Street assaulted her.

8:51 p.m., Don Pedro — A man on the 14000 block of Avenida Central said a neighbor came over to his house and threatened him over a brush burning incident.

TUESDAY

7:43 a.m., Sonora — An 18-year-old man was booked on a warrant charging him with unlawful sex with a minor and lewd acts on a child after being brought to the Tuolumne County Jail from the Alameda County Jail. He was released on his own recognizance yesterday.

1:25 p.m., Sonora — Zachary Joseph Lee, 19, 23000 block of Twain Harte Drive, Twain Harte, booked on a warrant charging him with burglary and violating his probation and misdemeanor theft after being brought to the county jail from the Stanislaus County Jail. He remained held without bail this morning.

YESTERDAY

2:07 a.m., Soulsbyville — Nicole Marie Vanderschans, 21, homeless, booked on suspicion of possessing and transporting a controlled substance and selling marijuana and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic needle, less than an ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after an arrest on Community Drive at Soulsbyville Drive. She was also booked a misdemeanor warrant charging her with possessing drug paraphernalia and failure to appear in court. She remained held this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

TUESDAY

1:58 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said he overheard people saying they were going to break into his house during the night.

8:37 a.m., theft — A wallet was stolen from a cosmetology student's locker on the 200 block of South Barretta Street.

9:47 a.m., vehicle accident — No one was injured in multiple-vehicle accident on the 400 block of South Washington Street.

11:15 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a pregnant woman was smoking marijuana in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

11:49 a.m., disorderly conduct — A caller said two men were arguing in front of the gasoline pumps at a service station on Pesce Way.

12:16 p.m., traffic violation — A 43-year-old woman was cited for driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop on Otis Street.

3:55 p.m., parking — A caller said a moving truck was blocking North Arbona Circle.

4:54 p.m., public intoxication — A 48-year-old woman in a vehicle parked behind a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

10:31 p.m., threats — A man on Pine Street said another man threatened to harm him.

Fires

3:20 a.m., Columbia area — A lightning strike caused a small spot of grass to burn on the 9500 block of Highway 49. Responding were California Department of Forestry, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Columbia Fire Protection District.

Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

8:20 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller on the 2300 block of Wagner Road said someone kept calling and hanging up.

9:26 a.m., Arnold — A wallet and credit cards were stolen on the 1100 block of Highway 4. The cards had been used.

10:59 a.m., San Andreas — A computer was stolen from a Budweiser beer distributor at a gas station on Highway 49.

1:10 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Patio furniture was vandalized at a house on the 8300 block of Main Street.

1:43 p.m., San Andreas — A gun was stolen from the 400 block of Russells Road.

2:41 p.m., Valley Springs — A man and woman were arguing on the 5400 block of South Chile Camp Road.

5:31 p.m., Valley Springs — A missing juvenile was returned home to the 6100 block of Hironomous Court. The youth was being defiant so the mother asked to speak with a deputy.

7:29 p.m., Valley Springs — A man and woman were arguing on the 300 block of East Sequoia Avenue.

7:51 p.m., Arnold — A caller on the 1700 block of Bear Clover Court said she lost her purse.

8:08 p.m., West Point —A caller on the 200 block of Matson Lane spoke with a deputy regarding an assault that occurred last week.

8:57 p.m., Murphys — A Social Security card was reported missing on the 4800 block of Darby Russell Road.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

1:22 p.m., Copperopolis — Donald W. Hirschaut, 72, 600 block of High Point Circle, Cooperopolis, booked on a felony battery charge. He was released from custody at the Calaveras County Jail after posting $30,000 bail.

YESTERDAY

10:43 p.m., Rail Road Flat — Natalia Diana Burton, 24, of Mokelumne Hill, booked on suspicion of possessing drugs. She remained in custody this morning at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.

10:43 p.m., Rail Road Flat — Edward Vern Phillips, 26, of Rail Road Flat, booked on suspicion of possessing drugs, driving without a license and giving false identification to an officer. As of this morning, Phillips remained in custody at the county jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
