TUOLUMNE COUNTY

Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

7:42 a.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10600 block of Reservoir Road said about 7 gallons of gasoline were siphoned from a vehicle parked behind the house. A hose and a bucket were left behind.

9:54 a.m., Tuolumne — The owner of Tuolumne Market on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road said seven vagrants were hanging out in front of the business and customers were complaining.

10:47 a.m., Soulsbyville — A woman called 911 to complain about loud music coming from a neighbor's house on the 16900 block of Mono Vista Road. The dispatcher sent a deputy out to tell the woman not to call 911 for a non-emergency and to see about the loud noises. The woman has been asked on other occasions not to call 911 for non-emergencies.

11:36 a.m., Tuolumne — A man on Chestnut Avenue said his ATM card has been used without his permission over the last two months.

12:49 p.m., Twain Harte area — A caller said teens might be using dynamite in a garage on South Fork Road.

3 p.m., Jamestown — A man on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said a drunken man at his house would not leave and was screaming at the caller.

3:11 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman found a flatbed trailer full of trash spilling over onto Lama Road.

4:03 p.m., Wards Ferry area — A caller said trash has been dumped over the side of Old Wards Ferry Road near a bridge.

4:04 p.m., Sonora area — A caller on Columbia Way said a weed trimmer, pitchfork and wood were stolen from the house.

4:25 p.m., Cold Springs — A caller on the 29600 block of Old Mono Road said two people were fighting at the house. A deputy talked to all present and then arrested a 41-year-old man on a San Jose County misdemeanor warrant.

4:53 p.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 23500 block of Thunderbolt Mine Road said gasoline was siphoned from his vehicle.

5:16 p.m., Big Hill — A house on the 13800 block of Northridge Road was burglarized and various items stolen.

5:19 p.m., Sonora area — A caller said the driver of a brown pickup fired a BB gun at the caller's car while the two were on Shaws Flat Road near Highway 49.

6:25 p.m., Wards Ferry area — A man on the 15900 block of Wards Ferry Road said a refrigerator was dumped in his driveway.

7:07 p.m., Tuolumne — An elderly man wearing a checkered shirt and shorts was seen walking on Tuolumne Road toward Tuolumne. The caller said it appeared the man was drunk.

8:41 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 10900 block of Green Street said a man was lying on the ground in her backyard. A deputy awoke the 45-year-old man, who was then arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.

10:43 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said a bald, heavy-set man was breaking windows out of a vehicle in the apartment complex parking lot.

YESTERDAY

12:03 a.m., Jamestown — Three callers reported hearing gunshots coming from Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. A deputy found a man working on a vehicle that was backfiring.

Felony bookings

YESTERDAY

3 p.m., Columbia — John Henry Francis, 35, undisclosed address on Big Hill Road, Columbia, booked on a warrant charging him with grand theft. He was booked while in custody on other charges and remained held without bail.

11:45 p.m., Tuolumne — Daphne Rebecca Stottlemyre, 29, 19000 block of Cemetery Lane, Tuolumne, and Melvin Milton Jenner Jr., 44, 18100 block of Box Factory Drive, Tuolumne, booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property. Jenner was arrested at his home. Stottlemyre was arrested on Buchanan Mine Road near Cottonwood Road.

According to a sheriff's report, a woman said her purse was stolen from her car parked near God's Bath, a swimming hole on the Clavey River. One of the checks from her purse was cashed at a store in Tuolumne. Stottlemyre and Jenner remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail each.

11:17 p.m., Sonora — Mario Alberto Arciga Soria, 40, 21900 block of Sawmill Flat Road, Sonora, booked on an Immigration and Naturalization Service hold after an arrest on Washington Street at Dodge Lane. A Sonora police officer stopped Soria's car for a traffic violation and discovered he was in the county illegally. Soria was picked up by immigration officials.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Victoria Lee Wade, 47, 15400 block of Tuolumne Road, Tuolumne, booked at 5:10 p.m. yesterday after arrest on Tuolumne Road south of Nugget Boulevard.

Sonora police reports

MONDAY

8:36 a.m., animal complaints — A man who lives on Shaws Flat Road in Sonora was bitten on the hand when he and another woman's dog got into a fight Saturday in Twain Harte.

10:36 a.m., animal complaints — A caller was given a cat trap to catch feral cats on South Sonora Avenue.

1:46 p.m., weapons violation — A caller said three men wearing black masks with a gun were in the parking lot at the Sonora Crossroad shopping center. One man was wearing military clothing, one an orange vest and one man had a video camera. An officer determined teens were making a video and the gun was a toy. They were lectured and released to their parents.

2:41 p.m., hazardous situation — A Mid-Sierra Materials truck accidentally dumped rock in the roadways on School, Elkin, Stewart, Lyons and Hope streets. An officer located the truck, which had a mechanical failure that caused the rocks to spill out.

8:49 p.m., trespassing — A caller said a man wearing a red hat and white shirt was looking into cars parked at a motel on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

7 a.m., San Andreas — Vehicles belonging to the Calaveras County Water District were broken into at the district's San Andreas headquarters.

7:03 a.m., Avery — A caller said someone threw a rock through a window at Saul Plumbing in Avery.

10:44 a.m., White Pines — A caller said logging equipment near White Pines was spray painted.

11:01 a.m., Avery — A caller at Candy Rock Parking in Avery said a vehicle was vandalized and items were stolen.

12:19 p.m., Copperopolis — A house on the 4000 block of Lakeshore Court was vandalized.

1:46 p.m., San Andreas — Checks were reported stolen from a San Andreas residence.

2:11 p.m., Arnold — A caller reported possible identity theft.

3:45 p.m., Arnold — A possibly counterfeit $10 bill was used to pay for items at Grizzly Station.

5:13 p.m., Arnold — A bicycle was reported stolen from the 2000 block of Valley View Drive.

5:40 p.m., Copperopolis — Deputies responded to reports of an argument and found a man towing a boat with his truck, with his girlfriend still inside the boat.

7:48 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said a resident at a convalescent home struck an employee at the home.

9:29 p.m., Valley Springs — A man said a golf ball landed on his lawn about 15 feet from where he was standing.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

7:18 p.m., Copperopolis — Laurence Herrera, 34, 700 block of Prairie Dunes Drive, Lathrop, was booked on suspicion of defrauding an innkeeper for $400 or less and causing vandalism damage of between $5,000 and $50,000. He was arrested on the north shore of Tulloch Reservoir. He has since been released from the county jail.

Arrested

Cited for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

William Dennis Gregory, 46, 6000 block of Hawver Road, San Andreas, booked at 10:42 p.m. Monday after his arrest on Fricot City Road. He remained in jail this morning because a felony warrant from Idaho charging him with being a fugitive precludes bail.

Jeff Clarence MaGruder, 45, 2000 block of Quail Hill Road, Copperopolis, booked at 3:40 a.m. after being arrested at his home. He has been released from the county jail.
