TUOLUMNE COUNTY 

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY

9:25 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Mail was found scattered around the area on East Bald Mountain Road. It was collected and returned to its owner by an officer. 

10:43 a.m., warrant arrests — A man was arrested on local warrants for conspiracy, burglary and possession of identification with criminal intent and fresh charges of obstructing a peace officer and violation of probation on South Stewart Street.

10:56 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man called in concern over an odor in his trash can from about a week ago on Linoberg Street. His trash was collected, but the odor is still there, he said. Officers believe it may have been a dead animal removed by Waste Management. 

12:12 p.m., warrant arrests — After reports of men shoving each other and falling over, a man was cited and released for two warrants on Banner Drive. The warrants were for damaging a wireless communication device to prevent someone from calling for aid and vandalism.

9:58 p.m., fight — Someone called in concern over yelling and dogs barking under a bridge on South Shepherd Street. Officers concluded the people were OK.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

8:29 a.m., Sonora area — Someone damaged tires on three vehicles at a business on the 18900 block of Industry Way. A total of six tires were vandalized.

9:13 a.m., Pinecrest — A man and woman said someone burglarized their cabin on the 200 block of Lodge Pole Avenue. Alcohol and several other small items were missing. The man said it was the second time the cabin had been burglarized. He said he didn’t think the amount of damage and items taken was worth contacting his insurance company, so he only requested documentation of the incident and extra patrol in the area.

9:37 a.m., Columbia — Someone at a business on the 21900 block of Springfield Road received a counterfeit $100 bill.

9:53 a.m., Sonora area — An unknown person or group of people threw about six eggs at a person’s car parked on the 14200 block of Alder Lane, causing scratches and damage to the car’s paint.

12:01 p.m., Sonora area — A 47-year-old man was booked into Tuolumne County Jail on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest on the 21000 block of Crystal Falls Drive.

12:10 p.m., Sonora area — A man who lives at a mobile home park on the 16100 block of Big Hill Road said he bought a puppy over the Internet for $1,070 and doesn’t think they are sending it.

12:38 p.m., Sonora area — Someone found a handgun on the side of the road at Hess Avenue and Phoenix Lake Road.

12:42 p.m., Sonora area — A person who lives on the 14100 block of Oak Knoll Road said a neighbor’s house was “TP’d and egged.” The caller said it possibly stemmed from a bullying incident at school between teenagers who live at the house and other students. The caller was advised that sheriff’s deputies would increase their presence in the area as staffing and call volume allowed.

3:54 p.m., Jamestown — A portable toilet used for construction on the 13200 block of Clio Court was shot.

4:43 p.m., Jamestown — A man said someone slashed the rear tires on his truck parked on the 8400 block of Old Melones Dam Road.

4:56 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said homeless people were living in a vehicle at the end of Cavalieri Road and she was afraid to let her kids play outside because of it.

5:55 p.m., Sonora area — Another residence on the 14100 block of Oak Knoll Road had been “egged and toilet papered.”

7:04 p.m., Sonora area — An unknown person fraudulently opened a $4,000 credit line in the name of a caller on the 23300 block of Comstock Ranch Road.

8:49 p.m., Sonora area — Someone said he or she received information that a meth deal was about to take place at a mobile home park on the 16600 block of Allison Way within about 40 to 45 minutes of the call. A Sheriff’s deputy patrol checked the area for an hour and there was no movement at the park.

9:48 p.m., Sonora area — Someone tried to make a fraudulent online purchase worth about $5,000 on a credit card belonging to a person who lives on the 18200 block of Berry Lane.

MONDAY

6 a.m., Sonora — Blake Nicholas, 22, of the 10600 block of River Oak Court, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of possessing a concealed weapon, after an arrest at Jamestown and Shaws Flat roads.

12:15 p.m., Sonora — John Steven Day, 28, of the 24000 block of Pine Lake Drive, Sugar Pine, was booked on suspicion of violating his post-release community supervision, after an arrest on the 1100 block of Highway 49.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

8:17 a.m., San Andreas — Someone broke the driver’s-side window of a blue car that had been parked in a lot at a business on East Saint Charles Street. A stereo was stolen from the car.

9:21 a.m., Valley Springs — Someone sprayed silver paint on the garage door of a residence on Lazer Court.

10:04 a.m., Arnold — Someone said two males in their 20s were walking around in a lot next to the caller’s residence on Bonanza Way. Then they were walking around in a dry creek between Bonanza Way and Brandy Flat. Then they were walking back toward the caller’s residence. The caller requested deputies contact the men. No report was filed.

11:49 a.m., Valley Springs — An assault occurred at Hogan Observation Point on Hogan Dam Road.

12:43 p.m., Valley Springs — A business owner on California Street said people have been sleeping in the area, cussing and causing issues with his business.

1:28 p.m., Murphys — A man on Surrey Lane called 911 and the dispatcher asked him to state his address. The man denied the request. The dispatcher explained that his address needed to be verified. The man said, “You really need to get out there and get the bad guys,” and then hung up the phone. No report was filed.

2:01 p.m., San Andreas — Someone could hear two people fighting on Church Hill Road but didn’t know whether it was a physical altercation.

2:08 p.m., Valley Springs — A woman who lives on McAtee Street said someone tried to break into her mailbox. She said a piece of wire was still sticking out of the lock. She refused to file an online report and requested a sheriff’s deputy go to her residence and talk to her in person.

2:50 p.m., Burson — A report was taken regarding a suspected forgery on Wade Lane.

9:34 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone threw a firework at a residence on Gold King Drive. The caller didn’t see anything but heard it go off and found the firework in the front yard.

9:42 p.m., West Point — There was a burglary on Sandy Gulch Road.

10:35 p.m., Vallecito — A man said he saw a mountain lion “right up against his house” on Main Street and wanted to report it.

TUESDAY

12:08 a.m., Angels Camp — Someone said it sounded like a group of people were at Utica Park on Utica Lane, and it sounded like they were destroying it.

1:34 a.m., Arnold — Someone saw a 7-foot-tall person, possibly on stilts, wearing a dark cloak and skeleton mask and walking in the road on Pine Drive.

5:26 a.m., San Andreas — Someone saw a man trying to break into a truck parked in the lower parking lot at Calaveras High School on High School Street. The suspect took off running after being discovered. He was wearing a white T-shirt and light jeans. The truck’s passenger-side window was broken.

MONDAY

4:15 a.m., Copperopolis — Jonna Fayette Wallace, 40, of the 900 block of Rose Street, Hayward, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest at Highway 4 and Shirley Road.

4:44 p.m., Angels Camp area — Arrah Beth Mann, 42, of the 1900 block of Deer Run Way, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest at Highway 4 and Foundry Lane.
