TUOLUMNE COUNTY The Sonora Police Department reported the following: FRIDAY 3:10 a.m., vandalism — A vehicle in a parking lot at Old Wards Ferry Road and Sanguinetti Road was egged and had other food thrown on it, chipping some of the paint. 6:52 a.m., found property — A rolling backpack and other property left at Coffill Park were turned in to the Police Department. An officer found identification inside the backpack, located the transient owner and returned the property. 11:23 a.m., controlled substances — Two men parked near Sonora Regional Medical Center were reported to be using controlled substances. SATURDAY 5:22 a.m., trespassing — A woman wearing a black sweatshirt with a basket of items was reportedly outside the 300 block of South Washington Street for hours. Employees asked her to leave several times but she reportedly yelled at them in Spanish. 11:01 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A resident on Linoberg Street stated someone entered his building through an open window but was unsure if anything was stolen. 11:32 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Parents in the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road reported the name of a person with whom they believed their daughter spent the night. The daughter reportedly returned home and said she slept under a bridge. 12:20 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A resident on Snell Street reported his neighbor was prowling around his residence. 2:17 p.m., public intoxication — A man was reportedly intoxicated in the 1000 block of Greenley Road. 4:07 p.m., theft — A resident on North Shepherd Street reported theft of computer items and a cell phone charger. 5:28 p.m., liquor violations — A minor was cited for open container and possessing alcohol in Coffill Park. 5:49 p.m., assault — An assault was reported at Coffill Park. SUNDAY 6:27 a.m., theft — A woman reported her cellphone was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road. 12:22 p.m., found property — Police reportedly found large amounts of cash at South Stewart and East Lyons streets. 1 p.m., theft — Two people were reportedly arrested for theft in the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road. 1:14 p.m., controlled substances — A resident reported seeing a man pulled out a marijuana pipe and pass it around in Coffill Park. The Sheriff’s Office reported the following: FRIDAY 5:31 a.m., Tuolumne — A man and woman were reported to be smoking out of a glass pipe in a white Toyota Corolla that just left Black Oak Casino heading toward Tuolumne. The call was turned over to the California Highway Patrol, which stopped the car on Tuolumne Road at Striker Court. 7:31 a.m., Standard area — A lawnmower and plants were stolen from a yard on the 14900 block of Blue Bell West. 10:01 a.m., Sonora area — An ice cream cabinet was stolen from the 18900 block of Waylon Way. 10:39 a.m., Twain Harte area — A man on the 22000 block of Longeway Road said a neighbor was cutting down a cedar tree on his property without permission. 11:01 a.m., Columbia — A resident of the 11800 block of Yankee Hill Road said all of her boyfriend’s tools, including power tools, were taken from her open garage. 1:10 p.m., Crystal Falls — A debit card belonging to a resident of the 21800 block of Crystal Falls Drive had three fraudulent transactions made on it for a total of about $400. 2:04 p.m., Twain Harte area — Someone broke into a family cabin on the 22700 block of Confidence Road. An animal carcass and pornographic magazines were found in the cabin, and the furniture was moved. 4:43 p.m., Crystal Falls — A man yelling and cursing at a woman and throwing furniture around was heard on the 21300 block of Crestview Drive. 5:30 p.m., Sonora — Gas was stolen from a vehicle parked in front of a garage on the 12800 block of Hollow Drive. 6:15 p.m., Phoenix Lake area — Someone has been driving onto a yard on the 22200 block of Phoenix Lake Road, causing damage to flower beds. 6:48 p.m., Jamestown — A man described as in his 50s was arrested on a public intoxication charge after he was beating on the walls of a business on the 18200 block of Main Street. 7:17 p.m., Sonora — An 11-year-old boy being treated for a laceration to the leg at Sonora Regional Medical Center originally claimed he was attacked by gang-types, but investigation revealed he had accidentally cut himself while playing with a knife and was afraid to tell his mother. 7:21 p.m., Soulsbyville — A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary after being detained for shoplifting at Willow Springs Market. 7:59 p.m., East Sonora — An employee of Kohl’s on the 13700 block of Mono Way was suspected of shoplifting at the store. 9:14 p.m., Columbia — Two men were reported fighting on the 22400 block of South Airport Road. A man was arrested on a local warrant. 10:31 p.m., Sonora — A resident reported people recklessly driving a black and red ski boat on New Melones Reservoir. 11:09 p.m., Tuolumne — A resident reported seeing an unfamiliar vehicle in the 19000 block of Cherokee Road. He also said he could hear footsteps. SATURDAY 8:19 p.m., Arnold — Curtis Lloyd Blayney, 24, of the 2300 block of Chaparral Drive, Arnold, was booked on suspicion of infliction corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and false imprisonment with violence. FIRE FRIDAY 11:51 a.m., Arnold — A campfire sparked a small vegetation fire in the 1100 block of Dunbar Road in Arnold. No one was injured in the incident and only a spot of vegetation was damaged, according to the release. ACCIDENTS FRIDAY 4 p.m., Angels Camp — A vehicle crashed into a three-foot high wooden post near Angels Creek Boat Launch Road and Whittle Ranch Road after the driver failed to negotiate a turn in the road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Lee Scott Anderson, 42, Sausalito, was driving his 2007 Kawa KLR 650 south on Angels Creek Boat Launch Road when he was unable to turn because of his high speed. After the collision, Anderson’s vehicle continued in motion and hit another three-foot high wooden post. Anderson refused medical help. |
