Sheriff's reports

SUNDAY

8:31 a.m., Don Pedro Reservoir — A ranger at Don Pedro Reservoir stopped a person who possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

10:18 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 22700 block of Confidence Road said her house was burglarized.

10:59 a.m., Quail Hollow — A woman said the face plate to her truck stereo system was stolen while the unlocked truck was parked on the 12700 block of Chukar Circle.

11:05 a.m., Sugar Pine — A woman said two vehicles parked on the 24000 block of Golf Links Drive were vandalized.

1:09 p.m., Moccasin area — A woman said, as she was driving on Highway 120, a man driving a gold van seemed to be following her.

1:56 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said two men who appeared to be drunk jumped into Twain Harte Pool after being told the pool was closed to the public for a private party. The men left before a deputy arrived.

4:15 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said her cell phone and portable CD player were stolen from her vehicle parked on the 10300 block of Preston Lane.

4:16 p.m., Curtis Creek area — A caller said a suspicious-looking man was walking on the 16300 block of Morris Road and appeared to be casing houses in the area.

4:19 p.m., Don Pedro Reservoir — A man said his houseboat docked at Gillman Arm Cove was broken into.

5:02 p.m., Moccasin — A caller said several teens were jumping off the Jacksonville Bridge on Jacksonville Road into Don Pedro Reservoir.

5:06 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said her friend stopped a person who stole her purse while the two were at a store on Joaquin Gully Road.

5:22 p.m., Don Pedro — A woman said something suspicious was floating by a houseboat near the Woods Creek Arm on Don Pedro Reservoir.

6:18 p.m., Don Pedro — A man on Llanura Drive said his fence was cut again.

7:11 p.m., Sonora — A caller said a man driving a yellow Chevy Caprice was driving south on Snell Street toward downtown Sonora after throwing a beer bottle out the window and driving over a curb.

8:29 p.m., Columbia — A mobilehome park manager said two people have set up residence in an abandoned trailer on the 22400 block of Airport Road South.

8:34 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman said two boys were running around Mi-Wuk Village shooting paintball guns at street signs.

11:03 p.m., Groveland — A caller said a man was beating up a woman at a house on the 19000 block of Ferretti Road. The caller said the man was throwing the woman in and out of a car. A deputy was unable to find the woman or man.

11:11 p.m., Wards Ferry area — A woman on the 18200 block of Old Wards Ferry Road said someone just ran through her yard. The caller asked for a deputy to check the area.

11:21 p.m., East Sonora — A red 1991 Acura Integra was stolen from the 13700 block of Mono Way.

YESTERDAY

5:48 a.m., Soulsbyville — A man said construction tools valued at more than $3,000 were stolen from the back of his pickup truck parked on the 17200 block of Valley Oak Drive.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

7:49 a.m., Sonora — Don Phillip Benorden, 31, 1800 block of Winton Way, Winton, booked on a warrant charging him with grand theft auto and grand theft after being brought to the Tuolumne County Jail from Las Vegas. He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

3:46 p.m., Sonora — Matthew Dustin Clements, 18, 2800 block of Highway 108, Sugar Pine, booked on a warrant charging him with vehicle theft and evading a police officer after a traffic stop on Stockton Road. He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

6:36 p.m., Sonora — Justin Daniel Ambagis, 21, 100 block of Lyons Street, Sonora, booked on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Also arrested was Kevin Ambagis, 44, 2000 block of Dora Street, Modesto, on suspicion of possessing concentrated cannabis. Both were arrested after a traffic stop on Stockton Road at Ponderosa Way. Justin Ambagis was released Saturday after posting $10,000 bail. Kevin Ambagis was released Saturday after posting $2,000 bail.

8:05 p.m., Sonora — Evan Jacob Smith, 25, 23800 block of Sierra Pine Avenue, Twain Harte, booked on a warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear after an arrest on Dossi Way. After booking he was released.

SATURDAY

2:01 a.m., Sonora — Frederick Floyd White, 38, 18800 block of Wards Ferry Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor loitering or prowling after an arrest at Cassina High School. According to a Sonora police report, White was seen in a carport on the 200 block of South Barretta Street. The caller confronted White with a BB gun and White left headed toward Cassina High School, where an officer saw him. White had pain pills in his possession without a prescription and the officer arrested him. He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

10:06 p.m., Sonora — Thomas Dale Belcher, 42, 70 block of West Jackson Street, Sonora, booked on a felony parole hold after an arrest at his home. He remained held this morning without bail.

SUNDAY

2:27 a.m., Sonora — Kris Patrick Myhre, 30, 2100 block of Princeton Avenue, Stockton, booked on an El Dorado County warrant charging him with felony vandalism and a probation violation after an arrest on the 300 block of South Washington Street. According to a Sonora police report, Myhre was in a motel parking lot threatening to shoot people with a gun he was carrying. Myhre was released after booking.

Daniel Lee Collins, 27, 19600 block of Serrano Road, Standard area, booked at 12:35 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Serrano Road.

Barbara Lynn Buendia, 22, 4800 block of Rody Road, San Andreas, booked at 1:05 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Linoberg Street at South Washington Street, Sonora.

Christy Lea Davies, 27, 11300 block of Columbia Village Drive, Sonora, booked at 2:57 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 49 at Jack Page Road, Sonora.

James Anthony Thornton, 49, 90 block of Summit Avenue, Sonora, booked at 4:49 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Greenley Road near the county library, Sonora.

Ernie Albert Wardwell, 48, 2200 block of Elizabeth Lane, Sonora, booked at 9:20 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Crystal Falls Drive, Crystal Falls.

SUNDAY

11:42 a.m., burglary — A man on the 100 block of East Jackson Street said tools were stolen from his house earlier in the morning.

11:42 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man was taking photographs of women going in and out of a store on Stockton Road.

12:54 p.m., animal complaints — A caller said a pit bull was locked inside a vehicle parked at the Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

8:59 p.m., vandalism — A caller said a vehicle parked at the Sonora Crossroads shopping center had been vandalized.

9:29 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a drunken driver was on Stockton Road. An officer stopped the woman and determined the woman was not drunk.

Fires

SUNDAY

2:30 a.m., Jamestown area — A half-acre grass fire was reported on the 16700 block of Jacksonville Road. No damage was reported. Mark Colopy of the same address owns the property. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, one engine from the U.S. Forest Service and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

5 p.m., East Sonora area — Fire was reported to a travel trailer on the 22000 block of Longeway Road. Damage was estimated at $10,000 to a 1991 Fleetwood owned by Robert Johnson of the same address. A wiring short circuit ignited the flames. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department, one engine from the U.S. Forest Service and Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department responded.

6:30 p.m., Don Pedro area — A small spot fire was reported on Highway 132 at Bonds Flat Road. Illegal fireworks started the burn. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department, one engine from the U.S. Forest Service, one engine from Stanislaus County Fire Department, one air attack, two air tankers and one helicopter from Columbia Air Base and one bulldozer from Baseline Conservation Camp responded.

SUNDAY

8:24 a.m., Valley Springs — A row of mailboxes were vandalized on the 100 block of Hidden Lane.

8:36 a.m., Rail Road Flat — A caller on the first block of Ridge Road reported a landlord and tenant dispute that occurred Saturday. The tenant allegedly threatened the caller's elderly mother.

10 a.m., San Andreas — A $300 bicycle was stolen from the 300 block of Neilsen Road.

11:32 a.m., Valley Springs — An argument occurred on the 8500 block of Hogan Dam Road. The parties separated for the evening.

2:32 p.m., Camanche — Campers involved in a fight were evicted from their campsite.

3:20 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller reported a heated argument with a customer on the first block of California Street.

4:59 p.m., Arnold — A caller on the 1600 block of Meadowview Road requested that a deputy pay his out-of-control daughter a visit. The caller, who tore the girl's bedroom apart, said she had been acting strangely for the past three days. The caller wanted the girl's mother to talk to her inside of a closet Saturday, but the mother declined.

5:39 p.m., Jenny Lind — A caller on the 7900 block of Cabernet Street said a neighbor was being loud and shot off a gun.

6:51 p.m., Angels Camp — A fight occurred on the 4200 block of Cedar Circle.

7:02 p.m., Burson — Criminal threats were made on the 2000 block of Highway 12.

7:44 p.m., Arnold — There was a report of drunk men at the Meadowmont Golf Course on Highway 4 who were refusing to leave.

9:37 p.m., Arnold — An arrest was made following a restraining order violation on the 2400 block of Silver Drive.

MONDAY

9 a.m., San Andreas — Albert Alexander Basso, 44, 1000 block of Feather Court, Copperopolis, booked on suspicion of grand theft and using a false name on a financial statement. Basso was booked and released on a Calaveras County Superior Court order.

7:30 p.m., San Andreas — Mario Richard Avila, 33, 200 block of Tumbleweed Court, Clayton, booked on charges of battery, forgery and petty theft. Avila was transferred on warrants from Cochran State Prison to the Calaveras County Jail. He remained there this morning without bail.

10:20 p.m., Angels Camp — Jessica Caroline Airola, 30, 600 block of Amador Lane, Angels Camp, booked on a felony battery charge. She posted $50,000 bail and was released from the Calaveras County Jail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Brett Allen Walker, 50, 8100 block of Lobata Street, Citrus Heights, booked at 10:45 a.m. yesterday after a Calaveras County Superior Court order was issued.

Faye Denise Weldon, 40, 1400 block of Rail Road Flat Road, Rail Road Flat, booked at 11:50 a.m. yesterday after a Calaveras County Superior Court order was issued.

Jerry Edwin Broyles, 62, 4800 block of Darby Russell Road, Murphys, booked at 12:30 p.m. yesterday after a Calaveras County Superior Court order was issued.

Fires

SATURDAY

1:45 p.m., Rancho Calaveras — A one-acre woodland fire was reported on the 6100 block of Usher Street. A pry bar striking the grass started the flames. Oliver Moore of the same address owns the property. CDF, two crews from Baseline Conservation Camp, One crew from Vallecito Conservation Camp, one air attack, two air tankers and one helicopter from Columbia Air Base, Foothill Fire Protection District and Mokelumne Hill Fire Protection District responded.

SUNDAY

4:10 p.m., Bar XX — A small spot fire was reported on the 1500 block of Sorrel Way. No damage was reported. Hot charcoal briquettes started the fire. CDF responded.

YESTERDAY

8:40 p.m., Valley Springs — A car fire and 20-by-40-foot grass fire were reported on the 9700 block of Scenic Valley Drive. No damage was reported to the 1989 Mustang, but $200 damage was reported to a plastic fence. James Craig of the same address owns the car and land. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Foothill Fire Protection District responded.
