Sheriff's reports

SUNDAY

11:43 a.m., Sonora area — A 24-year-old woman was arrested at her house on Lime Rock Drive on a misdemeanor warrant for having a dog at large.

11:48 a.m., Montezuma Junction — A woman discovered a side window on her car was smashed when it was parked Friday on Highways 49 and 108 after it had broken down.

11:50 a.m., Gold Springs — A woman said a fox was acting strange in a driveway on Providence Street. An Animal Control officer was paged to go out and take a look at the fox.

12:56 p.m., Sugar Pine — A man on the 23600 block of Highway 108 said two kids got onto his deck and stole show shovels to play in the snow.

1:40 p.m., Columbia area — A man on the 11200 block of Columbia Village Drive said keys, speakers, and amplifier, a CD case and a cell phone were taken from an unlocked car.

4:53 p.m., Tuolumne area — A woman on the 18100 block of Yosemite Road a bullet was fired into her house.

5:16 p.m., Tuolumne area — A woman said three rounds were shot into her car, parked on the 18300 block of Yosemite Road.

5:24 p.m., Cold Springs — A woman said a possibly drunk man bought liquor at a store and was putting gasoline into his car.

5:49 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A house on the 24300 block of Kuien Mill Road was reported broken into within the past hour.

7:20 p.m., Twain Harte — A man said he could see people with flashlights in his garage, on the 22000 block of Middle Camp Road.

7:24 p.m., East Sonora — A McDonald's manager said he could see two men running around the outside of the restaurant. One had a baseball bat and one possibly had a gun.

9:19 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said her husband received a death threat.

10:38 p.m., Columbia area — A 911 caller said a washing machine was on Sawmill Flat Road near Covington Road.

YESTERDAY

1:35 a.m., Tuolumne — A Black Oak Casino security officer said a person threatened to blow up the casino.

Felony bookings

FRIDAY

10:02 a.m., Ridgewood Estates — Justin Michael Dorado, 31, no address given, booked on a Calaveras County warrant charging him with felony battery and violating his probation after arrest on the 21000 block of Crestview Drive. He was taken to the Calaveras County Jail.

1:50 p.m., Quail Hollow — Jeremiah James Donovan, 24, 12400 block of Gunsight Road, Columbia, and George Meza, 32, 12800 block of Chukar Circle, Sonora, both booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale, receiving stolen property, vehicle theft and arson after an arrest at Meza's residence.

Sgt. Jim Mele said narcotics officers serving a search warrant found property in Meza's apartment that had been in a Jeep Cherokee earlier reported stolen earlier.

The Jeep was later parked near a county building on Cedar Road North, close to the Quail Hollow apartments, and had been set on fire causing about $5,000 worth of damage to the interior.

Inside Meza's apartment officers found a backpack, checkbook and other items belonging to the man who owned the Jeep.

Meza and Donovan were in jail this morning, each held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

4:02 p.m., Sonora — Eric James Taylor, 23, no address given, booked on suspicion of burglary and misdemeanor battery after an arrest at Save Mart on Stockton Road. Taylor was stopped by a store employee who said he was shoplifting. Police said he had no money, indicating he entered the store with an intent to steal. Taylor remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $15,000 bail.

4:15 p.m., Sonora — Michael Gene Archer, 48, unknown address on Ladell Road, Clearlake, Lake County, booked on a warrant charging him with vehicle theft, burglary and failure to appear in court after being brought to Sonora from the Butte County Jail. He remained in jail this morning, held without bail.

7:24 p.m., Jamestown — Cathy Lynn Holder, 34, 8000 block of Williamson Road, Jamestown, booked on a warrant charging her with transporting or selling a narcotic substance, failure to appear in court and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a license suspended for a previous drunken driving conviction after an arrest on Highway 108 at Rawhide Road. She remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $8,000 bail.

10 p.m., Jamestown — Donald Arel, 49, 18400 block of Jamestown Road, Jamestown, booked on a felony parole hole and on a warrant charging him with misdemeanor battery and failure to appear. He was also booked on suspicion of drunken driving, driving with a license suspended for a previous drunken driving conviction and giving false information to a peace officer. He was arrested after a traffic stop on Highway 108 at Golf Links Road. Arel remained in jail this morning, held without bail.

SATURDAY

10:03 p.m., Sonora — A 40-year-old Sonora man was booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery and damaging a telephone line after an arrest at his house. He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

SUNDAY

12:15 a.m., Columbia — Marvin Dale Coleman, 45, 22400 block of South Airport Road, Columbia, booked on suspicion of making criminal threats after an arrest at his home. He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Daniel Robert Sonnenfelt, 55, 70 block of Peppermint Heights, Jamestown, booked at 11:30 a.m. Friday after arrest at the California Highway Patrol office in Jamestown.

Lisa Marlene Conama, 37, unspecified address on Holt Street, Union City, Alameda County, booked at 4 p.m. Friday after arrest on Highway 108 at Victoria Way, Jamestown.

Shawn Lee Naves, 23, 29000 block of Cold Springs Drive, Cold Springs, booked at 10:50 p.m. Friday after arrest on South Washington Street at Toby Street, Sonora.

Allen Neil Kolpin, 38, 2700 block of Cucamonga, Ontario, San Bernardino County, booked at 2:09 a.m. Saturday after arrest on South Washington Street at Church Street, Sonora.

Jose Antonio Gomez, 18, 3900 block of Fieldcrest Court, Modesto, booked at 1:15 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 108 at Chicken Ranch Road, Jamestown.

James Willis Brisco, 62, 23400 block of Parrotts Ferry Road, Columbia, booked at 7:44 p.m. Sunday after arrest in Columbia State Historic Park.

Benjamin Anthony Valverde, 54, 17300 block of Escalon Bellota Road, Escalon, booked at 10:30 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Par Court north of Mueller Drive, Groveland.

Larry Paul Johnson, 67, 12700 block of Chukar Circle, Quail Hollow, booked at 11:27 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Partridge Way at Chukar Circle, Quail Hollow.

Sonora police reports

SUNDAY

3:41 p.m., fire call — A caller said a young woman was trying to start a fire near the entrance to Sierra Village Apartments on Greenley Road. An officer was unable to find the fire or the woman.

5:21 p.m., hazardous situation — A caller said a 3-foot pile of snow was in the middle of Mono Way near Restano Way.

7:38 p.m., traffic accident — A caller said a woman driving a silver Toyota 4-Runner hit the caller's vehicle then drove off. The caller followed the woman to a house on Shepherd Street and asked for an officer to help her.

9:57 p.m., theft — A caller said a newspaper stand at Timberhills shopping center was vandalized and money possibly taken out of it.

Fires

SATURDAY

10:42 a.m., Twain Harte — About $5,000 of damage was done to a shed and its contents at 17960 Lucky Strike Trail when hot ashes from a fireplace set the shed on fire. The owner is Ken McLeod. One engine from Twain Harte Community Services District and three from Tuolumne County Fire Department and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection responded to the call.

SUNDAY

9:58 a.m., Mountain Ranch — A caller said mail boxes and trash cans were run over on Swiss Ranch Road.

11:03 a.m., San Andreas — A caller said a group of people were in an argument on the 2700 block of Golden Gate Drive.

11:10 a.m., Arnold — A caller on the 1000 block of Cypress Point said a vehicle's tires had been slashed.

12:25 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller said a group of people were in an argument on the 3500 block of Signal Hill Trail.

1:45 p.m., Arnold — A caller said two men were fighting over "bad driving technique" on the 700 block of Highway 4.

2:49 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller reported people were "squatting" on Bureau of Land Management property near Murray Creek.

7:18 p.m., West Point — A man on the 400 block of Main Street said his landlord went into his apartment and went through his belongings.

10:09 p.m., Valley Springs — A woman said she heard a suspicious noise on her porch on the 2100 block of Evans Road.
