Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

9:40 a.m., Tuolumne — Two men, ages 20 and 40, were arrested on misdemeanor warrants at a Chestnut Avenue house near Pine Street. Deputies were called to the area to arrest a parolee at large.

11:08 a.m., Sonora — A man brought defective ammunition to the sheriff's department to be destroyed.

11:41 a.m., Mono Village — A woman said a man across the street from her on Susan Way was taking pictures of her house and making obscene gestures.

12:28 p.m., Tuolumne area —A man said a suspicious-looking gray Chrysler with a Montana license plate was parked on Yosemite Road.

4:05 p.m., Groveland — A woman said her wallet was stolen from her car parked on the 22000 block of Loop Street.

4:13 p.m., Scenic Brook — A woman said people have been parking at the end of a cul-de-sac on the 20600 block of Meadow Brook Drive and drinking and leaving garbage on the road.

6:15 p.m., Sonora area — A man called on a cell phone to report a car over the embankment at an unknown location on Highway 49. A deputy talked to the man, who had found a purse and thought it might belong to a person involved in an accident. The purse was returned to the owner, who was not in an accident.

8:11 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said a drunken person was standing beside a gray Ford Ranger pickup truck parked in The Junction shopping center.

8:27 p.m., Mono Vista area — A man said his stereo was stolen from his locked SUV parked on the 20500 block of Sunshine Road North.

8:59 p.m., Groveland — A 38-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant at a house on the 7500 block of Highway 120 after he and a woman were fighting and the woman called 911.

10:17 p.m., Jamestown — A man said that, while walking home to Preston Lane along a trail carrying a 12-pack of beer, he was jumped by three teens. One of the teens hit him over the head and he, in turn, hit one boy in the face with the beer before running away.

FRIDAY

12:26 a.m., East Sonora — A front office clerk at Best Western Sonora Oaks motel on Hess Avenue said there was a fight in the parking lot.

1:19 a.m., Columbia — A man at the Columbia College dorms said three people were in front of the dorms yelling, throwing bottles and driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle around the campus. The man said he first contacted campus security who said there was nothing they could do.

2:14 a.m., Twain Harte — A 25-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants after a woman on the 23200 block of Quail Drive said her boyfriend was beating her up.

8:01 a.m., Mono Vista — A woman said a man on the 21200 block of Crestview Drive threatened her.

8:35 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said her dining room on the 18100 block of Golden Oaks Drive was flooded after work had been done on property above her own.

9:17 a.m., East Sonora — An employee of a business on the 13700 block of Mono Way said another employee had passed out in the bathroom.

9:57 a.m., Twain Harte — A caller said 10 or 15 kids were throwing snowballs across Hunts Road.

12:44 p.m., Yankee Hill — A man said he had been fighting with a woman on the 16100 block of Big Hill Road.

2:11 p.m., East Sonora — A woman said her vehicle was scratched down the side while parked on the 19000 block of Standard Road.

2:55 p.m., Groveland — A man said he saw a fight involving three men in front of a business on the 18500 block of Main Street.

3:06 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 22900 block of Black Oak Drive said her neighbor's back door was wide open, but they were not home.

3:21 p.m., La Grange — A man on Ladera Way said his estranged wife sold a horse that belonged to him.

3:41 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said her brake lines were damaged on the 16100 block of Big Hill Road.

4:13 p.m., Twain Harte — Three callers said people were trespassing on the old Sierra Pines golf course on Middle Camp Road.

5:01 p.m., Sonora area — A man on the 10800 block of Highway 49 said people were having a bonfire on his property.

6:47 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said her husband and another man were fighting on the 18500 block of Carter Street.

7:02 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A woman said kids were setting off fireworks on Estralita Drive.

8:38 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said people were fighting on Main Street.

9:02 p.m., Crystal Falls — Two women said they heard either fireworks or gunshots on Crystal Falls Drive.

9:06 p.m., Soulsbyville — Three callers said they heard either fireworks or gunshots on Sherry Court.

9:22 p.m., Columbia — A man said someone bashed a number of mailboxes on Horseshoe Bend Road.

9:42 p.m., Sonora area — Two callers said fireworks were being set off on the corner of Mormon Creek Road and Poppy Hills Drive.

10:24 p.m., Long Barn — A woman said someone was shooting off bottle rockets on Rebekah Road.

11:43 p.m., Jamestown — A man said another man kicked a hole in his father's fence on the 17800 block of Diamond Lill Way and was threatening to come inside.

SATURDAY

12:02 a.m., East Sonora — A caller said people were setting off fireworks on the 16500 block of Meadow Lark Drive.

12:04 a.m., Quail Hollow — A man said someone was setting off fireworks on the 12800 block of Chukar Circle.

12:14 a.m., Jamestown — A man said he and his friend were just jumped on Main Street.

12:53 a.m., Columbia — A woman said a 28-year-old man was out of control, tearing up a house on the 22300 block of Gunsight Road.

5:27 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman said people were out in her shop across the street from her house on the 22700 block of Middle Camp Road.

6:46 a.m., Twain Harte — A man said his garage on the 22800 block of East Avenue was broken into and a leaf blower was taken.

8:43 a.m., Jamestown — The owner of a business on the 18500 block of Highway 108 said a window was broken.

9:52 a.m., Columbia — A man said his mailbox was destroyed on the 10200 block of Horseshoe Bend Drive.

12:19 p.m., Sonora area — A man said a neighbor's door on the 20200 block of Sparrow Lane was kicked in and the neighbor was not home.

1:59 p.m., Phoenix Lake — A woman said her 12-year-old daughter was given alcohol by a man on the 21500 block of Phoenix Lake Road.

2:35 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said a car was broken into on the 14500 block of Lolly Lane.

3:18 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said her purse was stolen from her home on the 19000 block of Berg Court on Thursday.

4:39 p.m., Columbia — Two callers said a trailer was parked on private property on the 11100 block of John Wallace Drive without permission.

4:48 p.m., Columbia — A man said three people were cutting up trees on state property on Parrotts Ferry Road.

5:27 p.m., Sonora area — Law enforcement officials were on the lookout for a white Ford Explorer with three teenagers throwing fireworks at people walking on Stockton Street.

8:32 p.m., Soulsbyville — A man on the 20600 block of Gaughen Court said a neighbor was threatening him.

YESTERDAY

7:49 a.m., Jamestown — A man said his garage on the 17700 block of Highway 108 was broken into.

9:49 a.m., Tuolumne — A woman said her husband's truck tire was vandalized on the 18700 block of Madrone Street.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

10 a.m., Jamestown — Thomas Michael Brawand, 34, and Kristen Rachelle Perry, 25, both of the 10400 block of 10th Street, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a hypodermic needle after an arrest at a house next to theirs. Arrested at the same house was Thomas Edward Boring, 26, undisclosed address on Shepherd Street, Sonora, on suspicion of transporting a controlled substance.

Sgt. Jim Mele, head of the Tuolumne Narcotics Team, said officers had a search warrant for the Jamestown house and found methamphetamine. While the investigators were there, Boring drove up to the house and allowed officers to search him. He too had methamphetamine in his pockets.

Brawand was released after posting $15,000 bail. Perry remained held this morning in lieu of $15,00 bail and Boring was also held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

10:59 a.m., Tuttletown area — Timothy Wayne Thatcher, 34, 17200 block of Jeanese Drive, Jamestown, and Cheryl Joleen Brandsted, 35, undisclosed address on Wutumpka Street, Tuolumne both booked on suspicion of manufacturing a controlled substance after an arrest on Jackass Hill Road. Thatcher was also booked on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with possessing drug paraphernalia and failure to appear in court.

Sgt. Jim Mele said this morning that a patrol deputy found a car that appeared to be abandoned at a turnout on Highway 49 at Jackass Hill Road. In and around the car Deputy Greg Rogers saw trash that looked like remnants of methamphetamine-making material. Rogers and another officer followed a trail leading away from the car and found Thatcher and Brandsted inside a cave.

There, officers found more than five gallons of sodium hydroxide, more than three gallons of muriatic acid and a container of acetone. The officers also found, glass beakers, a cooking apparatus and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Because of the quantity of the chemicals, a hazardous material team came out for a cleanup. The property belongs to Bureau of Land Management.

Thatcher and Brandsted were both held this morning in lieu of $200,000 bail each.

Arkady Fridman, 32, 23200 block of Gurney Station Road, Twain Harte, booked at 10 p.m., Thursday after arrest on Highway 108 at Confidence Road, Twain Harte area.

6:13 a.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer said a door handle was "popped" at a house under construction on Morning Star Drive.

10:01 a.m., vandalism — A caller said a man with black hair drove off with a gasoline hose still attached to his car from Corner Gas on Mono Way.

11:36 a.m., parking — A woman said a gold car, license plate 3RXX075, had been parked in a private parking lot on Stewart Street for more than a week.

1:45 p.m., hazardous situation — A disabled big rig was blocking the south bound lane on South Washington Street.

4:14 p.m., disorderly conduct — A Golden State Cellular employee said she was verbally harassed while at work.

FRIDAY

12:50 p.m., theft — A woman said she lost her purse on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

3:38 p.m., theft — An employee of Save Mart on Stockton Street had a suspected shoplifter in custody. The person was later arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and assault.

3:56 p.m., threats — A caller on the first block of Summit Avenue said a tenant threatened the caller.

4:05 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a suspicious smell was coming from a house on Linoberg Street.

4:10 p.m., vehicle theft — A vehicle was stolen from a parking lot on South Stewart Street.

5:20 p.m., vehicle accident — An accident occurred on the corner of South Washington Street and Restano Way.

7:16 p.m., public peace — A caller said a man was playing extremely loud music and screaming at other tenants on the first block of Summit Avenue.

8:44 p.m., public peace — A caller said a man was harassing employees at Alfredo's Mexican Restaurant on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

9:33 p.m., public intoxication — A 43-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication in front of a business on the first block of South Washington Street.

10:20 p.m., public intoxication — A 23-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication on East Church Street.

11 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury, vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident occurred on South Washington Street.

11:38 p.m., fight — A caller said a fight occurred in front of a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

SATURDAY

1:04 a.m., public intoxication — Two men, 23 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after a fight on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

9:06 a.m., theft — A caller said a soda machine was broken into on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

11:14 a.m., public peace — A caller reported an assault on the 200 block of Greenley Road on Thursday.

1:18 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller from a motel on the 300 block of South Washington Street said a man was in a room that was not rented to him.

4:21 p.m., traffic accident — A woman said a vehicle hit her vehicle the day before in a parking lot on the 1000 block of Greenley Road.

4:38 p.m., burglary — A window was broken at the Sonora High School cafeteria, on the 400 block of North Washington Street.

6:43 p.m., harassment — A man on the 200 block of Greenley Road said a woman keeps bothering him by knocking on his door and calling him names.

10:04 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury accident occurred at Mono Way and Greenley Road.

6:41 a.m., Burson — A PG&E employee said a property owner on the 3400 block of South Burson Road refused to let PG&E workers onto his property to trim trees around power lines and said he would shoot them.

7:49 a.m., Angels Camp — A man on the 3300 block of Meacham Ranch Road, who appeared to have been drinking, called the Sheriff's Department to complain about PG&E.

12:20 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A woman on the 8500 block of Cave City Road said she and her husband were fighting about him being unfaithful.

1:05 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller said several vehicles parked in a lot on the first block of Highway 26 were broken into.

1:20 p.m., Dorrington — A woman said a man and a woman were fighting on the 100 block of Boards Crossing Road.

1:46 p.m., Burson — A caller said a gun was stolen during a break -in at a house on the 3700 block of West Highway 12.

1:30 a.m., Angels Camp — A man who appeared to be intoxicated called 911 stating he lost his friend on the 6900 block of Glory Hole Road. The friend then called 911 to say the two had been fighting.

8:38 a.m., Copperopolis — A man said his shop on the 4800 block of O'Byrnes Ferry Road was broken into and many items were stolen.

10:04 a.m., Jenny Lind — A caller said a firearm was found at the end of a driveway on the 7700 block of Sparrow Road.

1:09 p.m., Camp Connell — A caller said a door to a cabin on the 200 block of Biring Drive was kicked in and the cabin was ransacked.

5:17 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller said a neighbor's car, on the 8400 block of Pardini Place, was in a ditch after the neighbors tried to run the caller down.

6:12 p.m., Wallace — A man said he thought he shot one of the five men in camouflage in the trees outside his house on the 200 block of Creekview Road.

9:08 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller said shots or fireworks went off on the 900 block of Sequoia Circle.

6:59 a.m., Glencoe — A man on the 2300 block of Wagner Road said someone threatened to report him for something he did not do.

12:37 p.m., Copper Cove — A caller said there were trespassers using dirt bikes on the 4600 block of Bay View Drive.
