Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

7:14 a.m., Jamestown — A Jamestown Sanitary District manager discovered a shop and office at the 17600 Highway 108 building had been burglarized overnight. Tools, clothing and a 1982 Dodge pickup were stolen.

8:02 a.m., Jamestown — A woman said the music room at Jamestown Elementary School on the 18200 block of Fifth Avenue was broken into.

8:05 a.m., East Sonora — The owner of King Parrish Canvas and Graphics said company vehicles parked at the 14700 block of Highway 108 were burglarized and tools and gasoline were stolen.

8:54 a.m., Columbia — A woman said her real estate agent found people squatting on her property on Likum Lane, off Italian Bar Road.

9:57 a.m., Racetrack Road area — A woman on the 19900 block of Rough and Ready Trail said she suspects someone has been sleeping in a trailer on her property.

1:28 p.m., Jamestown — A man said a fence was torn down on Golden Oaks Drive.

1:31 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a teenage boy went into a room at the now-closed Twain Harte Inn on the 22000 block of Twain Harte Drive.

1:31 p.m., Groveland — A man said a manufactured home temporarily parked on Ferretti Road near Pine Mountain Lake Drive was broken into.

1:39 p.m., Tuolumne — An 18-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor drug possession warrant at Summerville High School.

2:22 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 18500 block of Woodham Carne Road said a house was burglarized on Saturday and a chandelier stolen.

3:12 p.m., West county — A steer was found in the road near railroad tracks on Highway 120, 2 miles south of Yosemite Junction.

4:25 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 20100 block of Canyonview Drive said former tenants broke into a house and took items without permission.

5:02 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said several teens were inside a train at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park on Fifth Avenue and were opening and closing windows.

6:42 p.m., East Sonora — A caller found a bag of syringes without needles at a store in The Junction shopping center. The syringes were discarded in a hazardous materials container.

11:07 p.m., Tuttletown — A caller said a man driving a black pickup drove a few feet into New Melones Reservoir then backed out. The caller was worried the man might try to drive into the lake.

11:47 p.m., Chinese Camp — A vending machine at Sierra Pacific Industries on the 14300 block of Perricone Road was vandalized.

MONDAY

4:25 p.m., Groveland — John Henry Banks, 44, 20800 block of Hemlock Street, Groveland, booked on suspicion of damaging a telephone line and false imprisonment after an arrest on the 11800 block of Powder House Street. No details were available. He was released Monday night after posting $20,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Jason Eric Williams, 31, 20 block of Snell Street, Sonora, booked at 3:25 a.m. Monday after arrest on the 21800 block of Feather River Drive, Sonora.

Jeffrey Arthur Wood, 43, 22400 block of Mono Lane, Twain Harte, booked at 9 p.m. Monday after arrest on Tuolumne Road south of Highway 108, Sonora.

Fire

YESTERDAY

3:35 p.m., Big Hill area — A vehicle fire was reported on the 16800 block of Big Hill Road. Damage was estimated at $1,000 to a 1984 Nissan 200 SK. Kevin White of the same address owns the car. Crews from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the Tuolumne County Fire Department and the Columbia Fire District responded.

4:05 p.m., Twain Harte area — A kitchen fire was reported on the 17700 block of Lucky Strike Road. The fire was extinguished when firefighters arrived. Damage was estimated at $1,000 to food, the stove hood and drywall. Crews from the Tuolumne County Fire Department, CDF and Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department responded.

Sonora police reports

MONDAY

9:03 a.m., animal complaints — A man on the 100 block of West Bradford Avenue found a dead cat in his yard.

10:13 a.m., arrest — A 41-year-old man was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor child endangerment, resisting arrest and battery after an arrest at Tuolumne County Behavioral Health on Mono Way.

11:31 a.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on Stockton Road at South Washington Street.

2:32 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a woman was lighting items on fire in an apartment on the 300 block of Fairview Lane.

4:03 p.m., burglary — A man stole wall sconces from the Antique Den on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

4:43 p.m., traffic accident — Drivers involved in a traffic accident on South Washington Street exchanged information, but were not injured.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

Sheriff's reports

MONDAY

9:08 a.m., San Andreas — About $2,000 worth of jewelry was reported stolen from the 500 block of Lewis Avenue.

10:15 a.m., Murphys — Cash and alcohol were possibly stolen from a business on the 400 block of Main Street.

12:57 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A woman reported that when she went to a house on the 1100 block of Rotal Lane, a woman screamed at her, kicked the door and spit in the caller's face.

5:22 p.m., San Andreas —A caller at a restaurant on the 300 block of East St. Charles Street said she found a bag of drugs, which turned out to be candy.

6:25 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A citation was issued to a 13-year-old boy on the 1400 block of Rail Road Flat Road after the boy allegedly hit his brother on the head.

9:58 p.m., Murphys — A woman on the 1300 block of Heather Drive was arrested on suspicion of assaulting her husband.

11:33 p.m., Wallace — A loud party with fireworks and obscenities was reported on Southwood Court.

YESTERDAY

12:18 a.m., West Point — A fight between a mother and daughter was reported on the first block of Robinville Drive.

2:32 a.m., Arnold — A burglary was reported at a business on the 1200 block of Highway 4. A deputy found broken glass and money taken from a drawer.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

10:10 p.m., Valley Springs — Pablo Humber Astorga, 43, of Modesto, booked on charges of possessing a hypodermic needle and a controlled substance after arrest at the intersection of Highway 26 and Norle Way. Astorga remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Jonathan Tift Briggs, 70, 1200 block of Pawney Drive, Arnold, booked at 3:55 p.m. Monday after arrest on Highway 4.
