The Sonora Police Department reported the following:



1:30 p.m., theft — A mailbox was taken from Orchard Avenue. Police contacted the suspect, who promised to return it.

5:13 p.m., traffic accident — A hit-and-run was reported on Cielo Vista Way.

6:05 p.m., traffic accident — A vehicle hit a parked vehicle on South Stewart Street.

7:33 p.m., traffic accident — A hit-and-run was reported on Stockton Road.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


8:48 a.m., Tuolumne — A window of a business on the 18600 block of Carter Street was broken after being shot by a paintball. Similar vandalisms were reported nearby.

10:31 a.m., Columbia — A registration tag was taken off a vehicle on the 22300 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

10:49 a.m., Jamestown — A first grade student left Jamestown Elementary and went to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. 

11:54 a.m., Twain Harte — A residence was burglarized on the 22200 block of Cedar Springs Road.

1:33 p.m., Soulsbyville — A house fire was reported on Adams Court.

1:49 p.m., Soulsbyville — A brush fire was reported on Willow Springs Drive.

1:57 p.m., Pinecrest — A pistol and two magazines were stolen Sunday from a locked vehicle on Dodge Ridge Road.

6:28 p.m., Long Barn — A residence on the 22700 block of Ellmaro Drive West was burglarized.


12:24 a.m., Jamestown — People were seen smoking marijuana on the 10400 block of 10th Street. 

Felony bookings:


11:29 a.m., Jamestown — Susan Cochran Maus, 55, of the 2600 block of Idaho Road, Turlock, was booked on suspicion of selling or transporting marijuana, possession of stolen property,  misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


2:17 a.m., Jamestown — Cody Allen Davis, 22, of the 4400 block Moffett Road, Ceres, was booked after an arrest on Highway 120 near Green Springs Road.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


10:37 a.m., Valley Springs — Petty theft was reported at a business on the 7 block of Nove Way.

4:52 p.m., Valley Springs — A fight was reported at Toyon Middle School on Double Springs Road.

5:22 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A possible drunk driver was reported at Highway 49 and Lombardi Drive.


5:55 a.m., Murphys — A person was jumping into traffic at Highway 4 and Forest Meadows Drive. 

Felony bookings


2:57 a.m., San Andreas — Christopher Calloway Heffington, 26, of the 300 block of Apple Blossom Drive, Murphys, was booked on suspicion of failing to appear on a felony charge and possession of drugs after an arrest on the 20 block of East Saint Charles Street. He was also booked on suspicion of an infraction of possession of marijuana and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation, entering a noncommercial dwelling and possession of burglary tools.

9:40 a.m., Arnold — Gregory John Wilson, 36, of the 7200 block of Baldwin Street, Valley Springs, was booked on suspicion of violation of parole after an arrest on the 500 block of Silver Drive.

10:39 a.m., San Andreas — Kenneth Dewayne Snyder, 51, of the 1100 block of Howell Road, was booked on suspicion of grand theft exceeding $950 and presenting a false claim after an arrest at the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office.
