Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

7:38 a.m., Campo Seco Road area — A caller on the 11900 block of Railway Lane said a suspicious-looking man was wandering around the neighborhood.

8:17 a.m., Groveland — A woman on the 19600 block of Elder Lane said she was being threatened by a group of children because she made a complaint against them.

10:16 a.m., Long Barn — A man on the 25100 block of Merrell Springs Road said firearms were stolen from his house.

11:23 a.m., Twain Harte — A caller on the 23300 block of Quail Drive said someone dug a large hole on nearby property and the caller was worried about liability if someone fell into it.

2:41 p.m., Tuolumne — A man on the 18300 block of Tuolumne Road said three or four people are behind a business drinking.

3:05 p.m., Groveland — A woman on the 20900 block of Hemlock Street said she paid a man to do work on a hangar and has not seen the man for a couple of days.

3:29 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said two vehicles parked on Mi-Wu Street were scratched sometime between 8 and 11 a.m.

4:17 p.m., Standard area — A caller from Tuolumne Veterinary Hospital on the 15100 block of Tuolumne Road said a man was throwing things at the hospital because a dog is barking.

6:47 p.m., Columbia — A California Highway Patrol officer said someone witnessed vandalism at the Columbia Post Office.

8:11 p.m., East Sonora — A house on the 12900 block of Mountain View Road was reported broken into.

8:32 p.m., Don Pedro Reservoir — A man called 911 to say he and two other passengers were on the reservoir in a boat that ran out of gas and they were paddling in.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

1:30 a.m., Tuolumne — Michael Nelson Phillips, 44, 1800 block of Larkspur Lane, Ceres, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after arrest on the 19000 block of Cherokee Road. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

2:08 p.m., Sonora — Ian Douglas Campbell, 23, 18800 block of Dusty Trail Road, Sonora, booked on on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and a Stanislaus County warrant charging him with unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm, after arrest by Sonora Police officers during a traffic stop on North Washington Street.

Also booked was Charles Willis Patterson, 32, undisclosed address, Columbia, on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.

Patterson remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Campbell was held this morning in lieu of $35,000 bail.

3:22 p.m., Sonora — Christopher Michael Autler, 19, 24900 block of Bottini Avenue, Sierra Village, booked on suspicion of child molestation after arrest at the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $40,000 bail.

11 p.m., Jamestown — Arthur Francis Colloraffi, 39, homeless, Oakland, booked on a Santa Clara County warrant charging him with burglary after arrest on Highway 108 at Wigwam Road.

He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

11:02 p.m., Jamestown — James Lindberg Osborne, 35, 10100 block of Peppermint Circle, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after arrest on Highway 108 at Jamestown Road.

He was released after posting $10,000 bail.

Sonora police reports

WEDNESDAY

1:21 a.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer checked on two people near a building at Sonora High School on the 400 block of North Washington Street.

7:44 a.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported on South Stewart Street.

8:53 a.m., lost property — A woman said her son lost a check for school lunches at Sonora Elementary School on the 800 block of Greenley Road.

9:35 a.m., threats — A man on West Jackson Street said he was threatened by another man.

12:07 p.m., vandalism — A woman said a someone slashed a tire on her car while it was parked overnight on South Stewart Street.

1:06 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported at the intersection of South Washington and West Church streets.

3:47 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man at a church on East Bradford Avenue said a man in his 30s was wandering around the church property. The man, who was wearing an orange sweater, cut-off khakis and had no shoes on, was talking to himself.

5:27 p.m., theft — A 911 caller said two men and two women stole six balloons from Papa Murphy's Take 'n' Bake Pizza on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center. The caller said the people left in an unknown direction in a yellow car.

9:34 p.m., suspicious circumstances — An anonymous 911 caller reported seeing two kids in the parking lot of a business in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center spraying an aerosol can and then lighting the fumes with a lighter to make flames. When the caller approached the kids, they sped off in a car.

WEDNESDAY

5:42 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 7400 block of Baldwin Street called when she heard breaking glass and loud thundering around the house. A deputy was unable to locate any trouble.

10:03 a.m., San Andreas — A woman on the 500 block of West St. Charles Street said a man was sleeping in her garage and refused to leave.

10:07 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller on the 8900 block of West Center Street said a tree was cut down on the property without permission.

1:52 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller on the 8000 block of Highway 26 said a building had been vandalized.

3:37 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said a man steals aluminum cans from a Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital recycling center then takes the cans to another recycling center.

THURSDAY

9 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A caller on Freccero Road said people riding four-wheel all-terrain vehicles were trespassing.

Fires

THURSDAY

9:30 p.m., Arnold area — A vehicle fire was reported on the 200 block of Blue Lake Springs Drive. John Trench of Arnold owned the Cadillac DeVille, which fire officials estimated at a year or two old. Damage Is estimated at $32,000. Officials said the fire started as the driver was turning around in a residential driveway and went over the edge of an embankment. The car high-centered on the embankment, which fire officials said might have caused a break in a fuel line or filter.

Gasoline leaked out and was heated by the engine, starting the fire that fully engulfed the car. There was no evidence of mechanical failure, fire officials said. Trench was treated for minor injuries at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital.
