Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

7:35 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 22800 block of Black Hawk Drive said a CD player was stolen from her vehicle.

8:08 a.m., Sonora — A man said he heard an explosion overnight near the 20000 block of Grouse Way. When he checked Thursday morning, he found a can had been blown up.

8:40 a.m., Long Barn — A Forest Service employee said a helicopter base building on Bald Mountain was broken into overnight.

10:05 a.m., Columbia — A man on the 10900 block of Green Street said he found a wallet and other items in a neighbor's driveway belonging to a person who has been gone for more than a year.

11:36 a.m., East Sonora — The manager of Tamarron Mobile Home Park on the 14600 block of Mono Way said two tenants were arguing and one threatened to shoot the other.

3:52 p.m., Tuolumne — A Tuolumne Square employee said kids were skateboarding in the parking lot on Tuolumne Road and needed to be told to leave.

5:33 p.m., Twain Harte — A convenience store employee on the 22900 block of Joaquin Gully Road said two teenagers were outside asking customers to buy alcohol for them.

7:17 p.m., Strawberry — A man said while three men were snowmobiling on Herring Creek Road loop, one man got separated from the group about two miles past a bridge. At 8:20 p.m., the man was found safe.

7:24 p.m., Tuolumne — A man on the 18800 block of Cedar Street said every Thursday night after a church service lets out, he has an ongoing problem with children throwing rocks at his house.

7:27 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said her car's driver's side window was vandalized while it was parked on the 10200 block of Preston Lane.

8:26 p.m., Jamestown area — A woman reported that her daughter-in-law slid off Rough and Ready Trail. A deputy found her car on three wheels on the edge of an embankment. He waited with the woman until her car could be towed.

FRIDAY

12:06 a.m., Jamestown — A man said three people in a sports car were parked near Mill Villa Clubhouse on the 18700 block of Mill Villa Road. It appeared the men took something from the clubhouse.

6:46 a.m., Moccasin — A white Jeep was stolen from the 100 block of Highway 120 overnight.

7:33 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman on the 24700 block of Highway 108 said a man and woman were yelling the night before in the woods behind her house. The man said "shut up or I'll bash your head in," and the woman screamed.

7:37 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman on the 24000 block of Paumma Place said her 15-year-old son was refusing to get up and go to school.

7:38 a.m., Twain Harte — The school secretary of Black Oak School, on the 18900 block of Twain Harte Drive, said someone dumped about 50 old gun shells near the school Dumpsters.

8:05 a.m., Tuolumne — A man on the 18300 block of Yosemite Road said his daughter was "out of control" and refused to go to school because she had no clean clothes.

8:09 a.m., Tuolumne — A caller on the 18500 block of Fir Street said when she returned to her home, the dogs were locked upstairs and everything downstairs was smashed. The door was locked when she left.

8:27 a.m., Willow Springs — A man calling from the 21200 block of Oman Drive said the people who had his post office box before him had his paycheck forwarded to another address, and the checks were cashed.

10:49 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A caller on the 20500 block of Chief Fuller Way said there was fraudulent activity on her credit card.

12:51 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said he didn't know his address or phone number, but he needed a safe place to go for detoxification, he said.

2:06 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A caller on the 20900 block of Lama Tuemete Road said her neighbors were working on their vehicle in her driveway.

2:12 p.m., East Sonora — A caller on the 24400 block of Wildhorse Lane said someone had withdrawn $1,500 from his checking account over the Internet.

3:29 p.m., Sonora — A caller on the 12800 block of Lake Valley Lane said her children were riding an all-terrain vehicle on a private road when one of the neighbors came out and pointed a gun at them. The caller said her husband was on his way to confront the neighbors.

5:48 p.m., Willow Springs — A caller on the 21300 block of Oman Drive said her ex-boyfriend came to her house, stole her dog and then returned it two days later. The caller wanted advice on a restraining order and whether she could press charges.

6:15 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 23600 block of Highway 108 said her vehicle had been tampered with for the past four nights. The first night, the ignition was scratched, the second night, her front license plate was stolen and gas was siphoned, and more gas was siphoned on the third and fourth nights.

8:57 p.m., Tuttletown — A caller from the Lakeridge Inn on the 8700 block of Highway 49 said people arrived in a pickup, got out and started looking around with a flashlight. The truck soon left, but at least two kids were still in the area.

10:54 p.m., Phoenix Lake area — A sergeant said he saw what looked like a Ford Bronco and a Chevy Blazer trying to run each other off the road near the Phoenix Lake Golf Course off of Paseo De Los Portales. About eight men got out of the vehicles and started screaming at each other.

SATURDAY

12:12 a.m., Sonora — A man was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale on an unidentified block of Shaws Flat Road.

9:59 a.m., Pinecrest — A caller reported the theft of five lift tickets from Dodge Ridge Ski Area on the 700 block of Dodge Ridge Road.

1:15 p.m., Groveland — A man said some people stopped at his house on the 112500 block of Merrell Road and asked to use his bathroom. They said they were out of gas but then they headed up Merrell without going to the gas station.

3:47 p.m., Crystal Falls — A woman said two boys were walking up Crystal Falls Drive near Russian River Drive, shooting birds with BB guns.

4:27 p.m., Sonora — A woman on the 12800 block of Chukar Circle said she believed someone had broken into her apartment and raped her. She said she hadn't been drinking but couldn't remember the last few hours. The woman called back later and said "Just forget it."

10:48 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on an unidentified block of Preston Lane said someone was in the Catholic Cemetery ringing the church bell.

YESTERDAY

3:41 a.m., Soulsbyville — A caller on the 20500 block of Kings Court said gas was siphoned from a vehicle.

9:46 a.m., Jamestown — A caller on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said she was having ongoing problems with vandalism.

11:46 a.m., Sonora area— A caller on the 12800 block of Chukar Circle said four vehicles parked in front of his apartment were vandalized the night before.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

10:30 a.m., Tuolumne — Raymond Nathaniel Greer, 42, 1200 block of East Richard Smith Lane, Tulare, booked on a Tulare County warrant charging him with receiving stolen property and illegal drug possession after an arrest on the 19300 block of Cherokee Road.

A Maynord's Recovery Center employee said Greer was discharged from the program but refused to leave and was causing a disturbance. He was taken to the Tulare County Jail.

1:37 p.m., Phoenix Lake area — Sonja Alejandra Hernandez, 20, 21300 block of Phoenix Lake Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale and possession of a controlled substance after an arrest at her home by Tuolumne Narcotics Team investigators. She was released Thursday after posting $10,000 bail.

3:57 p.m., Sonora — Virginia Mary Schweit, 42, 16600 block of Allison Way, Willow Springs, booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after arrest on Stockton Road. She was released Friday after posting $10,000 bail.

10:30 p.m., Quail Hollow — A 43-year-old Sonora man, booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery after an arrest at his home. He remained held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Linda Susan Greenly, 60, 3500 block of Bausell Street, Sacramento, booked at 2:09 a.m. Friday after arrest on Highway 108 at Sanguinetti Loop, Sonora.

Fires

FRIDAY

5:18 p.m., Mono Vista — California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department crews doused a vehicle fire on the 21300 block of Doris Lane. There was no estimate of damage to the 2000 Subaru Outback, whose owner was not listed in a fire department report.

THURSDAY

8:07 a.m., hazardous situation — A caller said a young child was wandering on Mono Way near Timberhills shopping center.

8:19 a.m., unclassified — A firearm was turned in at the police department for safekeeping.

9:30 a.m., animal complaints — A tan-and-white pitbull was running loose and being aggressive on the 200 block of Mono Way.

11:07 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a car was stolen from a lot at Sonora Plaza shopping center. It turned out the car was simply misplaced.

11:24 a.m., animal complaints — The owners of a dog found running loose on Mono Way were told to keep the dog on a leash.

1:42 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person was yelling outside Wal-Mart.

5:29 p.m., theft — Items were stolen from a car parked on the 200 block of Theall Street.

9:06 p.m., found property — Various items were found behind Cassina High School on South Barretta Street, including car keys and identification cards.

9:14 p.m., theft — A teenage girl was turned over to her parents after she was taken into custody for shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

9:45 p.m., assault — A 30-year-old man who was fighting at Applebee's in Sonora Crossroads shopping center was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

FRIDAY

7:41 a.m., forgery — A check stolen in Modesto was cashed at Pak-N-Save on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road.

12:06 p.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer observed a "large ball of smoke" rising from an unknown address.

5:32 p.m., burglary — A residence was broken into on the 100 block of North Stewart Street.

5:46 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man was panhandling and annoying customers outside a gas station on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

8:20 p.m., traffic accidents — A Dodge Caravan hit a Mazda convertible on South Green Street.

9:43 p.m., disorderly conduct — Two men in cowboy hats were threatening someone at Applebee's on the 800 block of Sanguinetti Road.

10:52 p.m., theft — A woman was in custody for stealing from Wal-Mart on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

10:55 p.m., public intoxication — A man passed out in the bathroom of Denny's Restaurant on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

11:46 p.m., disorderly conduct — Several people were causing problems and wouldn't leave a karaoke room on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

2:30 a.m., theft — A person's car keys were stolen on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

8:59 a.m., hazardous situation — Broken glass was reported on the 100 block of North Washington Street.

10:30 a.m., fraudulent activities — Counterfeit bills were passed at Corner Gas on the 800 block of Mono Way.

10:34 a.m., lost property — A caller said she lost wedding rings at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds on the 200 block of Southgate Drive.

11:55 p.m., theft — A wallet was stolen at Denny's Restaurant on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

12:47 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman on the 300 block of Fairview Lane got a phone call from a man claiming to be raising money for a local police academy. When the woman said she doesn't donate over the phone, the man started cussing at her and hung up.

3:40 p.m., theft — A teenager was held for shoplifting at Save Mart on the 100 block of Stockton Road.

4:11 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man said his vehicle was broken into while parked on the 300 block of Fairview Lane.

YESTERDAY

2:20 a.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer heard a woman yelling "stop it" in the parking lot area on the 1000 block of Mono Way.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

2:45 p.m., San Andreas — A man in the county's animal control office reportedly threatened an officer with a dog chain leash. He was mad because a dog was euthanized.

6:16 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A caller on the 10000 block of East Murray Creek Road said she was arguing with her husband, and when he left, he took his two cars and might have returned for more belongings.

6:36 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller said a vehicle had been left running with its lights on in a parking lot on the 100 block of Pine Street. When a deputy arrived, he found a business owner talking with a friend.

7:29 p.m., Valley Springs — Two men were fighting outside a business on the first block of Highway 26.

10:02 p.m., Valley Springs — A possibly drunken driver was reported on Paloma Road.

FRIDAY

7:56 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — A man was wearing a gray sweatshirt and women's underwear while making inappropriate gestures as he followed women down the 8100 block of Mokelumne Hill Road.

3:46 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 7300 block of Cassidy Road said a burglary was in progress and that the "kitchen is a mess, like someone ate there and didn't clean it up." The television was missing, as well.

4:50 p.m., Glencoe — Someone cut the lock on a gate on the 14800 block of Skyhigh Drive and tore up the land with a four-wheeler.

7:51 p.m., Hathaway Pines — A woman on the 200 block of Cedar Drive said she thought her boyfriend scratched her mother's car the week before.

8:26 p.m., Murphys — A caller on the 4200 block of Northwood said she paid for 60 pounds of meat, but only 23 pounds were delivered. The caller became nervous when the delivery man asked for her Social Security number.

SATURDAY

1:57 p.m., Glencoe — Jewelry and a chain saw were taken from a trailer on the 11800 block of Ponderosa Way.

6:17 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 2300 block of Quail Oaks Road called 911 screaming and cussing after children came to his door to ask about their missing dog. The caller had screamed and swore at the children, as well.

7:57 p.m., Murphys — A caller reported seeing "things" crawling on the ceiling of a residence on the 300 block of Bret Harte Drive.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Patrick Lynwood Gallagher, 50, 1300 block of Birds Way, Angels Camp, booked at 12:23 a.m. Friday after his arrest at the intersection of highways 4 and 49.

Fires

FRIDAY

11:15 a.m., Mountain Ranch — A Central Fire District engine crew put out a flue fire at 11321 Quail Run. There was no damage. The owner's name was not available from the fire district this morning.

SATURDAY

8:27 a.m., San Andreas — San Andreas and Mokelumne Hill crews responded to a vehicle fire at Highway 49 and Gold Strike Road, but the driver had put it out by the time engines arrived.

5:53 p.m., San Andreas — Crews from the San Andreas and Mokelumne Hill fire departments doused a flue fire at 446 Pope St. No damage was done to the home, owned by Steve Shimp.
