Sheriff's reports


8:33 a.m., Sugar Pine — A man said wood was stolen from a felled pine tree on his property near Golf Links Drive and Pine Lake Drive.

8:49 a.m., Jamestown — A Jamestown Elementary School employee said two children have not shown up for school and several school staff members know where they are.

9:18 a.m., Standard area — A woman on the 19000 block of Highway 108 said she lost her wallet and most of the items inside were in her neighbor's mailbox, but not her Social Security card.

9:38 a.m., Columbia — A Tuolumne County Public Works employee said a 17-foot boat was abandoned on the side of Yankee Hill Road near Remington Mine Road. The county's vehicle abatement officer was notified to pick it up.

10:47 a.m., Soulsbyville — The owner of Dave's Allcar Auto on the 20800 block of Mechanical Drive said a car was stolen. He suspected the car's owner might have taken it.

1:01 p.m., Jamestown — A Chip's Chevron employee said an orange mountain bike was left at the store on the 18100 block of Highway 108 for about a week. A deputy took the bike.

1:40 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said the front door of a cabin on the 23000 block of Tanager Drive was open, but no cars were present.

2:13 p.m., Twain Harte — A man came into the sheriff's department with papers he said had his signature forged on them.

2:58 p.m., Soulsbyville — A man on the 16500 block of Atencio Court said his son came home from school and saw a man was climbing out a window.

3:54 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 18200 block of Ninth Avenue said she broke another woman's nose during an argument.

7:25 p.m., Columbia — A Columbia College security officer asked for help with a man who almost hit the officer while exiting from a parking lot near campus dorms.

9:54 p.m., Columbia — A 36-year-old man was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery against his girlfriend after an arrest at a house on the 22400 block of Airport Road.

9:51 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said two men in a white Dodge pickup parked in his driveway, jumped out and ran down the street toward another residence.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

David Dwight Blewett, 44, 1400 block of Snead Court, Manteca, booked at 1:17 p.m. Monday after arrest on Highway 49 at Fraguero Road, Sonora area.

Sonora police reports


2:37 a.m., warrant arrest — An 18-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants for trespassing after an officer saw three suspicious-looking men on South Washington Street near Church Street.

7:45 a.m., burglary — A fence was cut at Vic's Towing on Highway 49 and one vehicle, a 1991 Mazda pickup, was stolen.

9:14 a.m., miscellaneous — A man was seen burying garbage on his Crooked Lane property.

9:21 a.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on Sanguinetti Road.

12:19 p.m., lost property — A man left his wallet and checkbook in a shopping cart on Stockton Road and said they were gone when he went back.

12:43 p.m., public peace — A woman said a man was bothering her and her mother while the two were in front of a store in Sonora Crossroad shopping center.

1:18 p.m., theft — A man said tools were stolen from his house on the 30 block of West Bradford Avenue.

2:57 p.m., traffic accident — A car parked on South Stewart Street was hit-and-run by another car.

4:17 p.m., traffic accident — A vehicle parked in a lot on Stockton Road was struck.

6:06 p.m., traffic accident — A white Honda Civic was struck by another car on the 1000 block of Greenley Road.

8:25 p.m., public peace — A man in his 50s wearing a San Francisco 49'er jacket got into an argument with a clerk at a store on Stockton Road over not having money for cigarettes.

10:01 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A bartender at Sonora Family Bowl asked an officer to walk through the bar because a teenage girl was there.

5:40 a.m., Murphys — A suspicious vehicle was reported at Feeney Park on Highway 4.

8 a.m., San Andreas — There was a non-injury vehicle accident reported on the 4500 block of Highway 12.

8:35 a.m., Arnold — A garage door on the 3700 block of Fairway Drive was vandalized.

8:53 a.m., West Point — A verbal altercation was reported on the 1200 block of Bald Mountain Road. A fight was later reported at the same address.

11:54 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 2400 block of Highway 12 said her son "head butted" her.

4:11 p.m., Wilseyville — A child was reported missing from the 3900 block of Blagen Drive. The child was later found safe at a neighbor's house.

5:15 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller reported someone making threats at a gas station on Highway 4.

5:38 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A verbal altercation was reported on the 1100 block of Royal Lane.

7:09 p.m., Angels Camp — Car parts were reported stolen from the 5000 block of Esmarelda Road.

8:17 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller from a convenience store on Highway 49 said two men came in and looked around before stealing some beef jerky. They left in a gold, two-door car, heading toward San Andreas.

10:19 p.m., Mokelumne Hill —A suspicious person was arrested on a public intoxication charge on Jesus Maria Road.

11:19 p.m., San Andreas — A caller on the 2600 block of Nugget Drive said someone with a flashlight was possibly in the trees near their house.

Felony bookings


8:20 p.m., Mountain Ranch — William Flynn Almeida, 21, unknown address, Mountain Ranch, booked on suspicion of growing marijuana. As of this morning, Almeida remained at Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $35,000.


4:51 a.m., Valley Springs — Charles Thomas White, 18, 6900 block of Cloward Drive, Valley Springs, booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and receiving stolen property. White remained jailed this morning in lieu of $45,000 bail.

6:21 a.m., Copperopolis — A 35-year-old Copperopolis man was booked on charges of willful cruelty to a child and using fake checks. He remained jailed this morning in lieu of $80,000.

John David Castle, 31, 21000 block of Lyons Bald Mountain Road, Sonora, booked at 3:40 p.m. Monday.
