CALAVERAS COUNTY

    The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

TUESDAY
    9:21 a.m., San Andreas — A new laptop computer was stolen on Highway 12.
    2:44 p.m., Valley Springs — An arrest was made on Baldwin Street for battery on a person.
    4:12 p.m., San Andreas — An arrest was made following a report of a suspicious person at Calaveras County Library.
    4:36 p.m., Valley Springs — A grand theft occurred on Anderson Street.
    5:02 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A grand theft occurred on Church Street.
    6:56 p.m., Valley Springs — A report was taken for assault at Valley Springs Elementary School.

Felony bookings

MONDAY
    11:58 p.m., San Andreas — Marie Ginger Gomez, 41, of the 300 block of South Main Street, Angels Camp, was booked on suspicion of assault and damaging power lines, after an arrest on Grutz Way.

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

    The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:
TUESDAY
    8:10 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said her purse was taken from her unlocked vehicle on the 10800 block of Countryside Court.
    2:36 p.m., Sonora area — A mailbox was vandalized on the 18500 block of Lambert Lake Road.
    3:09 p.m., Jamestown — Someone vandalized an outdoor pool on the 10300 block of Augusta Lane.
   
    The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

TUESDAY
    11:06 a.m., theft — Someone said a child’s car seat was taken from a patient’s vehicle at an urgent care clinic on Fairview Lane. The seat was located in a white van in the parking lot. Officers responded and determined the people who took the seat believed it had been set out for donation purposes. The car seat was returned to the owner.
    11:32 a.m., drugs — A man received a package in his box at the U.S. Post Office on South Washington Street that was originally sent to Alaska but was returned unclaimed. The man opened the package and discovered two bags of marijuana inside. An officer responded and determined the package was originally sent to Alaska from the post office in Soulsbyville with the man’s P.O. box used for a return address. The officer turned the package and its contents over to the postal inspector and notified the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Narcotics Team for a possible follow up investigation.

WEDNESDAY
    1:04 a.m., Sonora — Nicholas Noah Scott Welker, 22, of an unknown address, was arrested on Barretta Street at Cemetery Lane.
