Sheriff's reports

SUNDAY

11:56 a.m., Sugar Pine — A woman on the 24100 block of Pine Lake Drive said a shed on the property had been burglarized.

1:55 p.m., Jamestown — A man walking along Shell Road said two men were firing guns across the trail. A Bureau of Land Management law enforcement officer talked with a father and son and asked them to find an alternate place to shoot.

3:42 p.m., Standard area — Two men and a woman involved in a traffic accident near Highway 108 and Standard Road were reported arguing before California Highway Patrol officers arrived.

3:58 p.m.,Sonora area — A caller said three trucks were parked on a bridge on Old Wards Ferry Road near a pile of wood in the street.

5:34 p.m., Pinecrest — A man said that as he drove on Highway 108, he was flagged down by a woman who asked him to call the sheriff's department about a snowmobile accident. A deputy checked and the snowmobiler was stuck in the snow.

7:37 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said a television valued at $150 was stolen from a house on the 22000 block of Red Wing Trail.

7:51 p.m., Columbia — A woman said a homeless man she found on the 22000 block of Parrotts Ferry Road needed a place to spend the night. The caller asked about homeless shelters in the county.

9:49 p.m., Tuttletown area — A woman on the 8900 block of Highway 49 said a man was outside her house threatening her husband over an animal complaint.

10:31 p.m., Sonora Meadows — A woman on the 21800 block of Phoenix Lake Road said her front window was shot with a paintball.

Felony bookings

SATURDAY

12:30 a.m., Sonora area — Joseph Cognetti III, 42, 18500 block of Cheryl Way, Twain Harte, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale after an arrest at historic Shaws Flat School on School Road.

According to a sheriff's report, a deputy saw three men inside a school building cleaning it. The deputy said he smelled marijuana smoke and asked to search Cognetti's truck. Inside the truck, the deputy found several plastic bags with marijuana, cash and a card with names and dollar amounts written on it.

Cognetti was released Saturday after posting $10,000 bail.

12:40 a.m., Sonora — James Rodney West, 22, 1300 block of Stouline Way, Angels Camp, booked on suspicion of felony vandalism and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol after an arrest on North Washington Street at Yaney Avenue.

According to a Sonora police report, while West was in the back seat of the patrol car after being arrested, he kicked out the car's window.

He remained held this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

4:37 a.m., Sonora — Joshua Daniel Sheehan, 24, 3600 block of Capitola Avenue, Santa Cruz, and Jody Velline Walton, 20, 2800 block of Capitola Avenue, Capitola, both booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and receiving stolen property after an arrest during a traffic stop on the 600 block of Stockton Road.

According to a Sonora police report, Sheehan was the driver and Walton the passenger. Officer John Bowly was given consent to search the car, where he found methamphetamine and checkbooks belong to four different people from the Santa Cruz County area.

During the stop, Bowly learned Walton was wanted on a Santa Cruz County warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and grand theft. Sheehan was also wanted on a Santa Cruz County warrant charging him with a hit-and-run.

This morning, Sheehan remained held in lieu of $45,000 bail and Walton remained held in lieu of $60,000 bail.

SUNDAY

5:45 p.m., Sonora — Lisa Marie Fleming, 27, 200 block of Becky Way, Waterford, booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property and misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic syringe and giving false information to a police officer. She was also booked on a Texas warrant.

According to a Sonora police report, Fleming was arrested on the 400 block of Stockton Road after a man saw her cleaning up broken glass next to his car. A Sonora police officer found items in Fleming's possession that belonged to two other people. Fleming originally gave officers a different name.

She remained held this morning without bail because of the Texas warrant.

Cody James Francis, 22, 17200 block of Margaret Drive, Jamestown, booked at 2:32 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Stockton Road at Bradford Avenue, Sonora.

Sean Riley Ferrill, 50, 23500 block of Italian Bar Road, Columbia, booked at 2:43 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 49 near Parrotts Ferry Road, north of Sonora.

Abraham Reuben Brush, 28, 2100 block of Fremont Avenue, Modesto, booked at 3:25 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Highway 120 at Lake Tulloch Road South in western Tuolumne County.

Benjamin Anthony Thomas, 30, 18400 block of Main Street, Tuolumne, booked at 5:34 p.m. Saturday after arrest on Soulsbyville Road at Black Oak Road, Curtis Creek Ranch area.

Ruben Carlos Rojas, 27, 500 block of Orchard Drive, Sonora, booked at 4:08 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Shepherd Street at Lytton Street, Sonora.

Sonora police reports

SUNDAY

1:53 p.m., traffic violation — The driver of a gold pickup truck was cited for having an expired vehicle registration on Columbia Way.

3:21 p.m., theft — A 55-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

4:54 p.m., traffic violation — A 31-year-old man was cited and released on suspicion of driving with a suspended license.

6:48 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller on the 300 block of South Barretta Street said a man with camping gear was in back of the property.

6:49 p.m., theft — Two teenage girls were taken into custody by juvenile probation officers after being detained for shoplifting from Wal-Mart.

11:16 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller noticed another woman at a restaurant who had blood on her hands and seemed depressed. The woman left before an officer arrived.

10:26 a.m., Campo Seco — Cows were reported missing from a pasture on Main Street.

10:35 a.m., Avery — There was a report of a suspicious vehicle stuck in the mud on the 2100 block of Rancho Paradiso.

12:27 p.m., Valley Springs — Ongoing problems with dirt bikes were reported on the 8900 block of McAtee Street.

1:44 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller on the 8500 block of Center Street said her 8-year-old grandson stole her earrings. The earrings were given back, but the grandmother, who is raising the boy, wanted a deputy to talk to the child about stealing.

2:27 p.m., San Andreas — A man was reported breaking into a vehicle at the old airport. A deputy called the vehicle's owner, and she said the man had permission to break into her vehicle.

3:51 p.m., Murphys — A caller on the 5600 block of Wildridge Drive said people riding dirt bikes were trespassing on the caller's property.

4:27 p.m., Arnold — A truck was broken into on the 2200 block of Pardee Drive.

5:48 p.m., Valley Springs — A verbal disturbance was reported between a man and a woman on the 8300 block of Sparrow Road.

6:51 p.m., Glencoe — A man was reported walking around with a flashlight on the 18000 block of Highway 26.

7:52 p.m., Camanche — There was a report of a check stolen from the 11700 block of Wade Lane.

10:12 p.m., Valley Springs — A continuing dispute between neighbors on the 7800 block of Cabernet Street was reported. The neighbors have mutual restraining orders.

SATURDAY

12:18 a.m., Angels Camp — Patrick Ernest Dougherty, 38, 500 block of Russels Road, San Andreas, arrested on suspicion of battery at the intersection of Murphys Grade Road and Highway 49. Dougherty posted $50,000 bail and was released from jail.

SUNDAY

5:15 p.m., Avery — James Robert Hall, 22, 4500 block of Moran Road, Avery, arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property and second-degree burglary. As of this morning, Hall remained in custody at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $65,000 bail.

Marlin Lee Lloyd Wunder, 61, 1500 block of Cheyenne Road, Copperopolis, booked at 10:20 p.m. Friday after arrest at the intersection of O'Byrnes Ferry Road and Copper Cove Drive.

Bruce Lee Hughey, 45, 10700 block of Pool Station Road, Copperopolis, booked at 12:04 a.m. Saturday after arrest at the intersection of Pool Station Road and Highway 49.

Francine Leatherman, 31, unknown address, Burson, booked at 1 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Highway 12 in Burson.

Sandy Ann Balderas, 35, Strom Way, Burson, booked at 11 p.m. Sunday after arrest at the intersection of Highway 12 and Evens Road in Valley Springs.

David George Cloward Sr., 33, 1000 block of Paloma Road, Valley Springs, booked at 12:59 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Highway 12.
