CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

8:46 a.m., Copperopolis — An intoxicated person on Flint Trail was refusing to go to bed.

9:09 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — A guest was refusing to let the resident into a house on Center Street and pushed a friend of the resident.

9:41 a.m., San Andreas — A residential burglary occurred on Broadway Street.

10:20 a.m., San Andreas — An unruly person requesting a deputy at the front counter of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department ended up being arrested.

10:22 p.m. San Andreas — Someone was walking down Mountain Ranch Road at Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital while intoxicated.

SATURDAY

7:33 a.m., San Andreas — A residence on High School Street was burglarized.

9:18 a.m., Mountain Ranch — Someone attempted to enter a residence on Swiss Ranch Road on Friday night and broke a window.

3:50 p.m., Valley Springs — A residence on Butler Lane was burglarized. 

10:41 p.m., Valley Springs — Theft was reported on Quail Oaks Road.

SUNDAY

2:34 a.m., Murphys — A public intoxication arrest was made on the 100 block of Highway 4. 

3:32 a.m., Wallace — Six people were fighting on Highway 12.

5:29 a.m., San Andreas — People in Turner Park were throwing rocks at a house and banging the tire swing against the garage. The caller said it has been going on for about a month.

12:48 p.m., West Point — A residence on Sawyer Lane was burglarized.

3:05 p.m., West Point — A residence on Sawyer Lane was burglarized.

4:10 p.m., Hathaway Pines — An arrest was made for a health and safety violation after a commercial building on Commercial Way was burglarized.

FRIDAY

9:30 a.m., San Andreas — Joseph Theodore White, 48, of the 600 block of Stanislaus Avenue, Angels Camp, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs, after an arrest at the Calaveras County Jail booking counter. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of possession of unlawful paraphernalia. 

SATURDAY

1:07 a.m., Angels Camp — Jacob Harmon Kitchell, 29, of the 3900 block of Juniper Drive, Vallecito, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest at Utica Park. He was also booked on suspicion of a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

SUNDAY

7:40 p.m., San Andreas — Daniel Thomas Butt, 25, of the 7800 block of Highway 12, Wallace, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and mayhem, after an arrest on the 700 block of Mountain Ranch Road. 

9:41 p.m., Valley Springs — Jose Irineo Espiritu Parra, 42, of the 5000 block of Baldwin Street, was booked on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and damaging power lines, after an arrest at his home.

9:45 a.m., Copperopolis — Curtis Owen Shirley, 57, of the 3800 block of Chuckwagon Dr., was booked after an arrest on Horseshoe Road. 

SATURDAY

8:40 a.m., San Andreas — Thomas John Kosta, 58, of the 11100 block of El Dorado Street, Sheep Ranch, was booked after an arrest at the Calaveras County Jail front lobby. 

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

5:35 a.m., Soulsbyville — A tree had fallen into power lines on Kings Court. 

7:26 a.m., Groveland — A dead bull pine tree was hanging over the road on a curve on Harper Road near Black Road, and the branches were touching cars as they passed.

9:08 a.m., Groveland — A resident of the 11100 block of Merrell Road reported possible computer fraud.

9:25 a.m., Ranchos Poquitos — Someone on the 19600 block of Grace Way was charged $116 for Internet use during a five-day period when he was out of town.

9:28 a.m., Twain Harte — A resident of the 24100 block of South Fork Road has been receiving suspicious calls since a recent burglary and is concerned the culprits might return.

1:08 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 17200 block of Margaret Drive said her ex-husband assaulted her and her mother, then left.

1:50 p.m., Groveland — A resident of the 22600 block of Prospect Heights reported a theft from his ex-roommate.

3:54 p.m., Sonora area — A man came to a woman’s residence on the 20200 block of Grouse Way trying to sell her magazines, and she noticed a check missing from her checkbook after he left. She was advised to call the bank right away and put a stop payment on the check.

4:03 p.m., Columbia — Things have been disappearing from a carport on the 11100 block of Heidi Lane over the past few weeks. The owner wasn’t sure if they were stolen or misplaced, but wanted it documented in case there is a problem in the neighborhood.

5:21 p.m., Sonora area — Someone damaged the wipers on a vehicle parked in front of a residence on the 19100 block of Sunny Circle and untied the tarp on a boat.

6:28 p.m., Tuolumne area — A man who appeared to be intoxicated was walking west on Tuolumne Road near Black Oak Road wearing shorts and no shirt.

8:42 a.m., Crystal Falls — Christmas decorations were stolen from a yard on the 21900 block of Russian River Drive.

9:24 a.m., Sonora area — Two rings were stolen from the 11700 block of Campo Seco Road.

9:41 a.m., Jamestown — Water was seeping through the bricks of a retaining wall near a home on the 18500 block of Manor Drive. The wall was destroyed about seven years ago and rebuilt by the county. 

10:41 a.m., Twain Harte — A downed tree was blocking the roadway near South Fork and Middle Camp roads.

12:03 p.m., Sonora area — Racetrack Road was flooded.

1:15 p.m., Jamestown — Flooding was reported on Bell Mooney Road near Harvard Mine Road. 

1:24 p.m., Chinese Camp — Red Hills and South Sims roads were closed due to flooding.

4:01 p.m., Jamestown — Two women came home and found two men breaking into their house. The intruders left after the women yelled at them. 

4:01 p.m., Sonora area — A bicycle was stolen from Stockton Road and Highway 108.

6:33 p.m., Jamestown — A 27-year-old man was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct after he and another man, one of which was not wearing pants, were seen throwing beers at each other in the middle of the road near Highway 108 and Chicken Ranch Road.

7:16 p.m., Sonora area — About 90 hydrocodone pills were missing from a residence on the 20800 block of Lower Hillview Drive.

7:50 p.m., Jamestown — Prescription pills were stolen from a man’s residence on the 10200 block of Preston Lane on Nov. 28. His soon-to-be ex-wife had company over while he was gone that day.

5:58 p.m., Sonora area — Jarrod James Carson, 22, of the 18200 block of Main Street, Jamestown, was booked after an arrest on Racetrack Road.

1:53 p.m., Sonora area — John Charles Matthews, 77, of the 11400 block of Forest Park Drive, Columbia, was booked after an arrest on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road. 

SATURDAY

10:45 p.m., Sonora area — John Peter Banke, 53, of the 20900 block of Pineridge Court, was booked after an arrest on Stewart and Theall streets.

6:03 p.m., Groveland — Ronda Ann Amos, 48, of the 9000 block of Smith Station Road, was booked on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, after an arrest at her home.

SUNDAY

10:12 a.m., Sonora area — Michele Margaret Butler, 40, of the 2400 block of Olowin Trail, Mi-Wuk Village, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest on Stockton Road. She was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of drugs. 

Fires

FRIDAY

1:30 a.m., Groveland — An explosion was heard and a fire was reported on Ridgecrest Way.

6:39 a.m., Sonora area — An electrical fire was reported on Estralita Drive.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

2:55 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man who came to a house on East Bald Mountain Road asking if the residents were nonviolent and friendly turned out to be a door-to-door sales representative. An officer advised him and another salesman to get a license before conducting further business.

10:30 p.m., public intoxication — A caller saw a man punch his girlfriend, knocking her to the ground on Shaws Flat Road. He was arrested on a public intoxication charge, but the assault couldn’t be determined since the woman could not be located.

SATURDAY

10:28 a.m., assault — A woman was assaulted by another female on the 100 block of Old Wards Ferry Road but declined to press charges.

11:12 p.m., suspicious circumstances — People were looking into vehicles and checking car door handles at South Stewart and William streets. 

11:36 p.m., assault — An intoxicated woman was assaulted near the fairgrounds and was in the Sonora Regional Medical Center emergency room with minor injuries. 

SUNDAY

3:14 a.m., theft — Someone attempted to pry open the change box at an automotive service shop on Pesce Way.
