The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


7:12 a.m., Tuolumne — A vehicle’s tires were slashed on the 18400 block of Tuolumne Road.

7:22 a.m., Jamestown — A $700 chain saw and other items were stolen from outside a residence on the 16300 block of Jacksonville Road.

7:42 a.m., East Sonora — The 13400 block of Mono Way was icy.

8:37 a.m., Soulsbyville — A large boulder was in the roadway at Oman and Lawler drives.

10:15 a.m., Sonora area — A rebate card and holiday gift cards were stolen from a mailbox on the 18900 block of Lambert Lake Road.

10:25 a.m., Twain Harte — Tires were slashed on the 22900 block of Twain Harte Drive.

12:05 p.m., Sonora area — A man said he was assaulted by his roommate’s female friend and received treatment at Sonora Regional Medical Center.

3:28 p.m., Twain Harte — A TV, DVD player, home theater system, dryer and stuffed porcupine were stolen from a vacation cabin on the 22800 block of Black Hawk Drive. A door was pried open.

4:08 p.m., Columbia — A heavily intoxicated man was lying on the side of the road on the 22200 block of Parrotts Ferry Road. He had a laceration on his head and was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center.

5:12 p.m., East Sonora area — A woman stole sunglasses from a department store in The Junction shopping center.

7:58 p.m., Sonora — A woman called to report theft of her identification. Police told her they arrested a woman who was in possession of it and to report it to the Sheriff’s Office.

8:47 a.m., Tuolumne — A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of petty theft and other misdemeanor charges after stealing from the gift shop at a business on the 19400 block of Tuolumne Road North.


1:24 a.m., Groveland — A rollover accident was reported at Highway 120 and Merrell Road. It was unknown if there were any injuries. 

Felony bookings


2:48 p.m., Jamestown — Dustin Thomas Lewis, 25, of the 1300 block of Vanessa Court, Ceres, was booked on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 years old and other sexual crimes.

8:30 p.m., Sonora area — Justin Arthur White, 33, a transient, was booked on suspicion of force or assault with a deadly weapon likely with great bodily injury and threatening crime with the intent to terrorize after an arrest on the 500 block of South Stewart Street.

10:07 p.m., Jamestown — Melissa Michelle Allen, 29, of the 17900 block of Seco Street, was booked on suspicion of possession of narcotics after an arrest on the 10500 block of Petticoat Junction Drive. She was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of drugs.

11:07 p.m., Jamestown — Amanda Lee Wagstaff, 26, of the 22500 block of Longeway Road, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of possession of narcotics after an arrest on the 10500 block of Petticoat Junction Drive. She was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of drugs.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


1:57 p.m., found property — A .22 caliber bullet was found on the Sonora Elementary School campus.

2:35 p.m., theft — A woman stole items from a business on the first block of South Washington Street three weeks ago and again Wednesday.

2:51 p.m., public intoxication — A 47-year-old man was booked on suspicion of public intoxication at a business on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

3:21 p.m., miscellaneous — Illegal dumping was reported at a business on the 700 block of Mono Way.

5:30 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A person dressed in black was in the middle of the roadway on the 1100 block of Mono Way and was almost hit by a car.

8:05 p.m., weapons violations — Sounds of three gunshots were reported on South Stewart Street. Officers searched two suspects, found no weapons and released them.



8:54 a.m., Valley Springs — Vandalism was reported on Gold Creek Drive.

2:45 p.m., San Andreas — A residence on Broadway Street was broken into. It was said to be an ongoing problem.

4:56 p.m., Jenny Lind — A residence on Greer Way was vandalized.

Felony bookings


7:12 p.m., San Andreas — Charles Gartside V. Williams, 30, of the 800 block of Snoshoe Drive, Dorrington, was booked on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury, vandalism with damage exceeding $400 and violation of parole after an arrest on the 30 block of Main Street. He was also booked on suspicion of several misdemeanor charges.
