TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

8:26 a.m., Sonora area — A person’s credit card was fraudulently charged.

9:35 a.m., Tuolumne — A man reported that his daughter’s guitar was stolen from Summerville High School on Friday. The thief said he would not return it unless the student paid him $350.

11:24 a.m., Sonora area — A Sierra Railroad employee reported finding sections of rail moved to Campo Seco and Lime Kiln roads. He believed someone was trying to scrap the metal.

1:02 p.m., Sonora area — A portable DVD player, radar detector and digital air pressure monitor were stolen from a residence on the 11900 block of Appey Way. 

4:43 p.m., Twain Harte — A hit-and-run with property damage was reported on the 22700 block of Confidence Road.

Felony bookings

WEDNESDAY

12:19 p.m., Sonora area — James Alan Bayliss, 50, of Sonora, was booked on suspicion of attempting to remove a firearm from a peace officer after an arrest on the 13700 block of Mono Way. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of trespassing and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer, peace officer or emergency medical technician.

6:55 p.m., La Grange — Edward Perry Ortiz, 49, of the 14600 block of Soledad Lane, was booked on suspicion of willful infliction of corporal injury and obstructing a telephone line after an arrest on the 2000 block of Buena Vista Drive.

8:28 p.m., Sonora area — Shane William Vastbinder, 42, of the 16900 block of Tehachapi Court, was booked on suspicion of false imprisonment after an arrest at his home. He was also booked on suspicion of a misdemeanor charge of battery.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

9:29 a.m., found property — A generator with a missing motor was found on South Stewart Street and believed to be stolen. Police were unable to determine theft. 

2:36 p.m., school assist — Three Sonora High School students admitted to vandalizing a teacher’s Columbia home.  

3:16 p.m., drugs — A possible drug deal was reported on Columbia Way but officers were unable to locate suspects.

3:22 p.m., theft — Money was missing from a wallet that had been lost on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

3:35 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Illegal dumping was reported on Hospital Road.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

12:53 p.m., Valley Springs — A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of battery and willful cruelty to a child after an arrest on the first block of Laurel Street.

7:21 p.m., San Andreas — A possible magazine-selling scam was reported on St. Charles Street.

8:40 p.m., San Andreas — An altercation was reported on Court Street.

THURSDAY

7:04 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — An altercation was reported on South Main Street.

WEDNESDAY

3:25 a.m., Angels Camp — Randy Scott Gulizia, 62, of the 5800 block of Buckboard Lane, Campo Seco, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest on Mark Twain Road at Minna Street. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of failure to appear, driving with a suspended license and traffic offenses.

3:43 a.m., Angels Camp — Tina Marie Davids, 49, of the 1000 block Highway 49, San Andreas, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest on Mark Twain Road at Minna St. She was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of obstructing a public officer and destroying or concealing evidence.

10:40 a.m., Modesto — Christopher Bradley Jorge, 40, of the 2100 block of Coffee Road, was booked on suspicion of second degree burglary after an arrest on the 8200 block of Grayson Drive. He was also booked on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license and failure to appear. 

7:35 p.m., Jackson — Jessica Ann Jauch, 23, of the 19900 block of Meadowood Court, was booked on suspicion of first degree burglary and receiving known stolen property exceeding $400 after an arrest at a business on the 10500 block of Wicklow Way.
