Sheriff's reports


8:01 a.m., Groveland — A man at Groveland Adult Day Health Care, on the11600 block of Merrell Road, said money and medications were stolen.

8:32 p.m., Jamestown — A man said his wife left her purse at a Jamestown restaurant, but employees denied having it.

11:17 a.m., Jamestown — A man on the 13800 block of Park Avenue said a woman was taking items that belonged to him out of a car owned by a jail inmate.

1:46 p.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 22000 block of Longeway Road said firewood was stolen.

1:50 p.m., Greenley Oaks — A man on the 13000 block of Beckwith Road said two teenage girls came to his house asking to use his bathroom. When he said no, the girls went to another house, he said, and stole the doorbell.

2:14 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman on the 22800 block of Miners Avenue said a necklace was stolen from her house.

3:37 p.m., Standard area — A woman on the 14100 block of Tuolumne Road said she and a neighbor were "either drugged or gassed" last week at their homes.

4:15 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said she just returned home and found a sliding glass door had been pried open.

4:57 p.m., East Sonora — A woman said a blue van has been parked all day in back of a business on Mono Way, near property where kids ride dirt bikes.

5:36 p.m., Jamestown — A man said the tailgate from his pickup was stolen after he left the truck parked near Highway 108 and Highway 120 while he got a ride to work.

5:55 p.m., Columbia — A man said a $200 video game controller was stolen from his dorm room at Columbia College.

6:54 p.m., Tuolumne — A man on the 16800 block of Buckhorn Mountain Road said four men in a Ford pickup truck were running over mailboxes.

7:10 p.m., Twain Harte — A California Highway Patrol officer said he found two intoxicated people at Black Oak School on the 18900 block of Twain Harte Drive.

7:21 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said a man wearing a baseball cap and a blue sweatshirt was riding a bike on Main Street, possibly drunk.

8:24 p.m., Jamestown — A caller on the 10100 block of Peppermint Circle said her mother hit her, so she swung back.

11:20 p.m., Columbia — A caller on the 22000 block of Parrotts Ferry Road said a man was walking around the area.

Felony bookings


5:22 p.m., Groveland — Kenneth Andrew Hyde, 22, 19600 block of Elder Lane, Groveland, booked on a warrant charging him with forgery, receiving stolen property and failure to appear after an arrest at his house. He remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

11:15 p.m., Tuolumne — A 20-year-old Sonora area man booked on suspicion of unlawful sex with a minor after an arrest on the 18600 block of Main Street. He was released after posting $5,000 bail.


1:31 a.m., Sonora — A 55-year-old Sonora man booked on suspicion of felony spousal battery after an arrest at his home. A woman called 911, saying her husband beat her, a Sonora police report said. When an officer arrived, the woman was bleeding from her nose.

The man remained held in jail this morning, held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Sonora police reports


3:06 a.m., hazardous situation — A man said storm water was becoming a hazard near the Tuolumne County District Attorney's office on Shaws Flat Road and at the Post Office at Lyons and Shepherd streets.

9:28 a.m., vandalism — A vehicle parked on the 1300 block of Sanguinetti Road was vandalized.

11:10 a.m., animal complaints — A caller said a pitbull was running loose near the 500 block of South Washington Street.

10:11 a.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a vehicle accident on the 1300 block of Sanguinetti Road.

11:13 a.m., vandalism — A parking lot light was vandalized on the 400 block of Stockton Road.

11:57 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man on the 1200 block of Shaws Flat Road said someone tried to break into his bathroom overnight.

3:41 p.m., theft — An 18-year-old teen was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Sonora Express Mart on Pesce Way.

5:27 p.m., traffic violations — A caller said a man driving a Volkswagen yelled obscenities at the caller during a road-rage incident on South Stewart Street.

8:59 p.m., public disturbance — A man in his 40s was causing a disturbance on South Stewart Street.


Sheriff's reports


8:16 a.m., Murphys — A caller on the 500 block of Forest Meadows Drive reported a missing child, but the child was later found hiding in a closet.

8:07 p.m., Arnold — A caller at a grocery store said a vehicle was partially blocking the front doors.

Felony bookings


2:05 p.m., Lake Camanche — Jason Edward Howell, 21, 8000 block of Hartwick Way, Sacramento, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and exhibiting a firearm to an officer after arrest at the 11000 block of Wade Lane. He was still in custody this morning in lieu of $40,000 bail.
