The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


7:51 a.m., reckless driving — A man in a white Chevy pickup almost hit a Sonora High teacher and student while they were in the crosswalk on North Washington Street.

8:13 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Three juveniles at Sonora High were smoking cigarettes under the bridge.

9:08 a.m., reckless driving — A man in a black vehicle was driving around in circles and speeding in a business parking lot on Sanguinetti Road.

10:37 a.m., hazardous situation — A 10-gallon bucket of salad dressing spilled in the roadway and was causing a hazard on North Washington Street near the Veterans Memorial Hall.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


8:19 a.m., Soulsbyville — A woman on Caylor Drive said $60 was taken from her purse by people who took care of her for a few days.

9:34 a.m., Twain Harte — An audible burglar alarm sounded at a residence on Cresta Drive. A neighbor heard someone kicking down a door and saw a white Ford Explorer with painted flames leaving the area.

3:34 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said she was assaulted by a 40-year-old man at a bar on Twain Harte Drive on the same night that she was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. The sheriff’s deputy who arrested her said she was extremely intoxicated that night but had no visible marks on her. The woman did not remember what happened and was relying on what her friend said. The sheriff’s deputy said her friends were highly intoxicated that night as well.

5:46 p.m., Columbia — Someone said they saw some people possibly trying to break into the generator area at the Tuolumne Utilities District water tank at Howser Lane and Forest Park Drive. The fence to the tanks were chained and locked, and there was no signs of forced entry or anything unusual.

10:04 a.m., Jamestown — Israel Squire Boone, 42, no permanent address, was booked on suspicion of maliciously destroying the property of others, after an arrest on the 18300 block of Fifth Avenue.

1:54 p.m., Columbia — Jeremiah James Donovan, 33, of the 22800 block of Four Wheel Drive, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest at his home.

12:53 p.m., Sonora — Lydia Marlene Poulson, 27, of the 20500 block of North Sunshine Road, was arrested at Wyckoff and Snell streets.

8:07 p.m., Jamestown — Jason Charles Butler, 42, of the 17500 block of Twin Oak Drive, was arrested at Main Street and Highway 49.

8:52 p.m., Sonora area — Carol Anne Cope, 72, of the 18700 block of Mill Villa Road, Jamestown, was arrested on Lime Kiln Road south of Campo Seco Road.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


12:53 p.m., San Andreas — A man caused a disturbance at the Calaveras County Superior Court on Government Center Drive.

1:51 p.m., Arnold — A man was parked in a business parking lot on Highway 4 for more than hour, and then got arrested on a local warrant.

4:07 p.m., San Andreas — Juveniles were running around the cemetery on Pixley Avenue.

6:10 p.m., Valley Springs — A scam attempt occurred on Laurel Street. Someone called claiming to be from PG&E and threatening to turn off power unless they receive $986. The potential victim verified with PG&E that it wasn’t legitimate.

9:30 p.m., Murphys — Ryan Alan Kennedy, 22, of the 4400 block of Highway 4, was arrested at Main and Church streets.
