TUOLUMNE COUNTY

 

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

 

THURSDAY

1:25 p.m., suspicious circumstances — An older man was taking pictures on school grounds at Sonora Elementary School and last seen walking down the nature trail. Police officers checked the area “extensively,” but the man was not located.

3:26 p.m., traffic accidents — A man in a vehicle ran over a stop sign at South Washington and East Church streets. Police officers spoke with the man and filed a report.

3:30 p.m., fight — A female tenant pushed her landlord and came at her with pruning shears on North Stewart Street. The alleged victim declined to press charges, but police officers filed a report on suspicion of battery.

 

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

 

THURSDAY

8:03 a.m., Tuolumne — A call was transferred to California Highway Patrol regarding a vehicle hanging over an embankment at Ponderosa Way and Canyonview Drive.

9:21 a.m., Tuolumne — A man at Madrone Street and Fir Avenue was warned about talking on the phone while driving.

9:45 a.m., Jamestown — A man on the 11100 block of Golf Links Road said outgoing mail was stolen from his mailbox Wednesday night.

10:35 a.m., Sonora — A sheriff’s deputy stopped and spoke with a man carrying a television on Greenley Road. He said he was moving.

11:58 a.m., Twain Harte — A five-gallon gas can and Honda portable generator were swiped from the deck of a residence on the 22000 block of High Road.

12:37 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller suspected a 22-year-old man was possibly casing residences in a neighborhood at Mono and Twain Harte drives. The caller spoke with the man who said he was from Oakdale and his name was “Nico.” He left the area on foot wearing a blue ball cap and gray hooded sweatshirt.

12:52 p.m., Jamestown — Someone reported an audible burglar alarm going off at a residence on the 14400 block of Twist Road. A report was filed for attempted burglary.

2:08 p.m., Jamestown — A man on the 18100 block of Highway 108 said someone called him demanding his credit card information or else PG&E would shut his power off. The man recognized it as a phone scam and reported it to law enforcement.

5:10 p.m., La Grange — A John Deere tractor, trailer and steel were stolen from behind a locked gate at a residence on the 1700 block of Merced Falls Road.

7 p.m., East Sonora — A caller alleged that a man was choking a dog on the 14800 block of Mono Way. He then allegedly bit the dog’s ear off and tried to run over the caller in a vehicle. The man was contacted by sheriff’s deputies at the drive-thru of a nearby fast-food restaurant. He told a sheriff’s deputy that he was only disciplining his dog because the dog ate his sandwich. He said he learned that slightly biting the dog’s ear shows power of ownership. The deputy didn’t see any visible signs of injury on the dog. The man was lectured and released.

9:11 p.m., Columbia — A man said he was assaulted by 22-year-old male on the 21700 block of Parrotts Ferry Road. The suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face while he was getting out of a vehicle and broke his nose.

THURSDAY

5:03 p.m., East Sonora — Kennedy Marie Barton, 20, of the 10700 block of Wigwam Road, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary, after an arrest on the 14600 block of Mono Way.

7:39 p.m., Sonora — Derek Ray Helfrich, 18, no residence listed, was booked on suspicion of two counts of first-degree burglary and damaging a telephone or power line, after an arrest on the 100 block of Ruth Lane.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

9:57 a.m., Valley Springs — A vandalism report was filed for a chain link fence cut in two places at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers property on Hogan Dam Road.

12:44 p.m., Valley Springs — An altercation occurred at a business on Highway 12 over alleged damage.

2:20 p.m., San Andreas — Someone said a homeless couple was living in a modular at the Calaveras County Water District office on East Saint Charles Street.

FRIDAY

6:17 a.m., Valley Springs — A locked vehicle was broken into on Gold King Drive and jackets and tools were missing from it.

10:08 p.m., Copperopolis — Richard Anthony Serva, 24, of the 300 block of South Main Street, Angels Camp, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest on the 700 block of Feather Drive.
