Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

7:55 a.m., Rancho Sonora Estates — A woman on the 20700 block of Gopher Drive said gasoline was siphoned from her car.

8:19 a.m., Groveland area — A deputy took a report about a second theft of items from San Jose Family Camp on Cherry Lake Road.

10:29 a.m., Sonora area — A man said as he was driving on Tuolumne Road he stopped behind a dark blue Ford Ranger truck. The truck's driver got out and came back and pounded on the caller's hood.

10:44 a.m., Sonora area — A man on the 12000 block of Red Maple Circle said a case of water was stolen from his garage.

11:53 a.m., Groveland —A caller said a man on a tractor and a woman were arguing at the corner of Elder Lane and Homestead Road.

12:52 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a man was drunk at 49er RV Park on the 23200 block of Italian Bar Road.

1:13 p.m., Tuolumne — A man reported a woman was lying on the ground with a pillow on Tuolumne Road near Summerville High School.

1:37 p.m., Phoenix Lake Estates area — A man helped start the car for a woman who was crying and calling for help on El Coyote Drive. The woman left after her car was started but the man was concerned for her welfare.

1:55 p.m., Jamestown — A man said various items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle parked on the 19000 block of North Drive.

3:28 p.m., Tuolumne — A caller said five teens were drinking in a yard on Chestnut Avenue near Pine Street.

3:32 p.m., Standard area — A caller said a person with a rottweiler dog was camping on property on Camage Way.

4:13 p.m., Dardanelle — A man camping at Deadman's Campground on Kennedy Meadow Road said people camping nearby have a large dog they allowed to run loose. The dog charged other people, including a young girl.

6:06 p.m., Soulsbyville — A man reported a woman was sitting on a Highway 108 median wearing a white shirt reading a newspaper.

7:20 p.m., Kennedy Meadows — A man reported he returned from a hike and found his friend's vehicle had been damaged while it was parked at Kennedy Meadows Resort.

8:07 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 12000 block of Dane Lane said four men and a woman were near her house and one man broke her fence after getting into the caller's garden and cut down a sunflower.

8:59 p.m., Quail Hollow — A woman said three drunken men were vomiting near a white pickup truck with Nevada license plates parked on Covey Circle.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

6:01 a.m., Tuolumne — Melissa Anne Galvan, 42, 18700 block of Buchanan Mine Road, Tuolumne booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale after an arrest on Pine Street at Tuolumne Road.

According to a sheriff's report, Galvan waved down a sheriff's sergeant and deputy patrolling Tuolumne in an unmarked patrol car. The deputies had windbreaker jackets covering their uniforms.

When Sgt. Matt Zelinsky stopped the car, Galvan knelt down, put her arms on the car and said "I have some good bud for sale." She then told the two men they could "smoke a bowl" in her nearby apartment. Zelinsky agreed to meet her in an alley.

When the three got to the alley, Galvan offered Zelinsky a small metal pipe filled with marijuana to smoke. He declined and said it looked fine. Galvan then offered Zelinsky a plastic bag filled with 43.75 ounces of marijuana. When she did that, Zelinsky arrested her. When searched Galvan had $332 in cash on her.

She remains held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

10:59 p.m., Jamestown — George William Throckmorton Jr., 20, 500 block of Haight Avenue, Alameda, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after a traffic stop and arrest on Highway 108 at Fifth Avenue.

According to a sheriff's report, after a deputy stopped a black Honda car driven by Throckmorton, he searched the car with Throckmorton's permission.

Inside the deputy found 48 cans of beer and a duffel bag. Throckmorton said the bag was his and told the deputy he had some "‘shrooms" inside.

The deputy opened the bag and found 2.5 grams of chopped up psilocybin mushrooms. Throckmorton said he bought the mushrooms in Alameda for $20 and was going to eat them and "trip out in the woods."

A 19-year-old passenger was cited for being a minor in possession of alcohol. He called his grandmother in Mi-Wuk Village to come get him after the deputy took Throckmorton to jail where he remains held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Arthur Eugene Yeager, 61, 17200 block of Monte Grande, Soulsbyville, booked at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after arrest at her home.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

7:37 a.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in an accident on the 90 block of North Washington Street.

10:49 a.m., animal complaints — A caller said a dog bit a man and a little girl at Sonora Elementary School. The little girl was bitten on the nose and the dog's owner was at the school.

4:04 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman driving on South Stewart Street said she thought she saw two men trying to break into a building.

5:44 p.m., theft — Two Sugar Pine Realty signs valued at a total of $300 were stolen from a house on Ridge Road.

6:01 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a person was drinking beer out of a can in a paper bag at Coffill Park.

6:08 p.m., public intoxication — A 24-year-old man was booked on suspicion of public intoxication after an arrest on the 90 block of Summit Avenue.

6:27 p.m., animal complaints — A caller said a dog that has officially been declared vicious was seen in public without a muzzle at Sonora Plaza shopping center.

8:41 p.m., theft — A caller said $40 worth of items were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 600 block of South Washington Street.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

TUESDAY

7:49 a.m., Paloma — A person in a white Ford Bronco was dumping tires on Highway 26.

9:56 a.m., Valley Springs — A woman was sleeping outside of a grocery store on Highway 12 while she waited for a ride.

10:19 a.m., Valley Springs — Domestic violence was reported on the 100 block of Sequoia Avenue.

10:44 a.m., Valley Springs — An argument was reported on the 500 block of West Highway 12.

12:39 p.m., Douglas Flat — A family dispute was reported on the 1800 block of Sugarpine Way.

5:04 p.m., Copperopolis — A woman holding a pellet gun was spotted on Copper Cove Drive.

5:12 p.m., San Andreas — A mobile home on the 600 block of Mountain Ranch Road was on fire.

5:49 p.m., Paloma — A male juvenile was spray painting the Gwin Mine.

8 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A caller on Rail Road Flat Road said there is someone on the land nearby that shouldn't be there.

8:20 p.m., San Andreas — A man said his estranged wife came over and tore up a shop on the 3400 block of Toyon Circle.

9:22 p.m., West Point — An intoxicated driver on the 100 block of Winton Road was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol.

9:43 p.m., Jenny Lind — A caller reported smoke on the 9900 block of Scenic Valley Road. About 20 minutes later, a second caller said four vehicles were stopped on the road and were possibly involved in a drug deal.

YESTERDAY

4:08 a.m., San Andreas —A caller on the 500 block of West St. Charles Street said a man hit the caller's dog after the dog went into the man's yard.

TUESDAY

12:05 p.m., Valley Springs — Waite Nathan Fisher, 28, 11300 block of Arapaho Lane, Burson, booked on a felony battery charge. As of this morning, Fisher remained in custody at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Karie Leah Thompson, 29, 4100 block of Ponderosa Way, Angels Camp, booked at 7 p.m. Tuesday after being arrested on Highway 49 in Angels Camp.

Karen Rose Klith, 43, first block of Winton Road, West Point, booked at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday after being arrested on Winton Road in West Point.
