Sheriff's reports

THURSDAY

7:38 a.m., Rancho Sonora Estates — A woman on the 20000 block of Quail Hollow Court said a man dressed in a black sweatshirt was hanging over a fence looking at her through binoculars while she was taking a shower. The woman said she confronted the man at his house.

8:19 p.m., Jamestown — A woman at a convenience store on the 18100 block of Highway 108 said her vehicle was vandalized.

9:28 a.m., Pinecrest area — A Fraser Flat Campground host said a man refused to pay for a camping spot.

9:46 a.m., Tuolumne area — A woman said a man wearing a striped shirt and shorts was walking down Woodham Carne Road and appeared disoriented.

9:50 a.m., Groveland — A 34-year-old man was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery after a deputy was called to his house because of a domestic dispute.

10:31 a.m., East Sonora — A Money Mart employee said the store received a fraudulent check for $476.98.

12:19 p.m., Big Hill — A man said broken car batteries, auto parts and other trash were dumped onto property near Old Oak Ranch Road.

1:52 p.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 20200 block of Sparrow Lane said a package dropped off at her door was torn open and the contents taken out.

4:06 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said someone wearing a blue shirt and short jeans was trying to climb a flagpole in front of the Twain Harte Post Office on Joaquin Gully Road.

4:56 p.m., Soulsbyville — A man said several teens were skateboarding in a construction zone on Soulsbyville Elementary School.

5:24 p.m., Columbia — A woman said a video camera was stolen when she set it down briefly while she was on Sawmill Flat Road.

5:34 p.m., North county — A Calaveras County Sheriff's Department dispatcher reported the driver of a dump truck was driving recklessly on Highway 49, headed toward Sonora.

7:55 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said her boyfriend was assaulted by a neighbor because the man had taken the neighbor's dog to the county animal shelter.

9:31 p.m., Tuolumne — A Black Oak Casino security officer said a man was outside the casino and said someone shot at him with a gun. Deputies had a tentative report of who the driver and passenger were in the car and were looking for the men.

10:25 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said while she and three other people were cleaning up Tuolumne Park after a function, a group of about 10 teens harassed them, trying to start a fight.

11:17 p.m., Sonora area — A man on Mt. Brow Road said four or five guns were stolen from his house over the weekend.

FRIDAY

1:25 a.m., Big Hill — A woman on Gunsight Road said her husband hit her in the face and pulled a gun on her, then left.

7:25 a.m., Tuolumne — A man said locks had been stolen from a Tuolumne Utilities District gate on the 18600 block of Cedar Street.

3:12 p.m., Columbia — A woman on the 22300 block of Airport Road said she received a suspicious fax in Arabic that referred to Sept. 11.

4:36 p.m., Dardanelles — A man at Brightman Campground said the campground host was threatened by some campers.

5:34 p.m., Pinecrest — A man on the first block of Pinecrest Avenue said he arrived at his cabin and discovered it had been broken into.

6:56 p.m., Cedar Ridge — A woman said 10 to 12 teenagers were drinking at Cedar Ridge Lake.

7:40 p.m., Twain Hart — A woman on the 18700 block of Tiffeni Drive said a purse had been stolen from a vehicle. She estimated the loss at $100.

8:03 p.m., Sonora area — A man on Hayes Court said someone dragged an abandoned chair into the road the previous night and set it on fire. Someone dumped the chair, a couch and some other items off the road a few months ago, he said.

10:12 p.m., East Sonora — A clerk at a business on the 14200 block of Mono Way said a 17-year-old girl was screaming and causing a disturbance because she had been told to leave.

11:20 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A man on the 21000 block of Leka Road said he arrived at his vacation cabin and found that someone had stolen the motor from his boat.

SATURDAY

1:27 a.m., Long Barn — A woman said about 15 people were fighting at a parking lot in front of a business on the 26500 block of Snow Bowl Road. The group later left.

6:50 a.m., Groveland — A woman said another woman kicked her during a dispute at a bar on Main Street.

7:17 a.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 12700 block of Chukar Circle said her car had 113 miles on the odometer that she did not put there. She filled up the car with gas yesterday, she said, and did not drive it. The keys had been moved, but the car was still in the carport, she said.

9:12 a.m., Groveland — A man said he had been punched in the jaw while at a Main Street bar during the night.

10:56 a.m., Groveland — A man on the 20600 block of Longridge Court said someone stole a boat battery.

2:57 p.m., Jamestown — Deputies received a report of several drunken people at Tulloch Reservoir.

5:51 p.m., East Sonora — A clerk at a gas station on the 13700 block of Mono Way said someone drove off without paying for $16 in gas.

6:28 p.m., West county — Deputies were told that a boy on the O'Brynes Ferry Bridge appeared to wrap himself in plastic wrap or some other sort of plastic material. The boy was reportedly on the side of the bridge and appeared like he was trying to go over the edge.

8:38 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 20900 block of Jamestown Road said someone stole her horse.

9:40 p.m., Twain Harte — A clerk at a liquor store on the 18700 block of Tiffeni Drive said two people grabbed something from the store and ran out. She was unsure what the pair took, she said.

10:32 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said a tire was slashed on a vehicle parked on the 11100 block of Mono Way. The caller estimated the damage at $275.

11:15 p.m., East Sonora — A man on Rockridge Way said he found a screen that had been knocked off of his neighbor's garage window.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

2:24 p.m., Sonora — Roberto Jose Sinay, 25, 400 block of Greenley Road, Sonora, booked on a San Joaquin County warrant charging him with grand theft and violating his probation after an arrest after a traffic stop on Stockton Road and South Washington Street, Sonora. He was released to San Joaquin County because of a warrant from there.

FRIDAY

9:30 p.m., Jamestown area — Laurel Elizabeth Newquist, 48, no address given, booked on suspicion of parole violation after arrest at Highway 108 and Golf Links Road. Newquist was held without bail this morning.

SATURDAY

3:05 p.m., Jamestown — Jesse Joe Cabanias, 41, 18200 block of Ninth Avenue, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of parole violation after arrest at Fourth Avenue and Ninth Street. Cabanias was held without bail this morning.

11:35 p.m., Jamestown — Chad Phillip Hockey, 20, 10200 block of Seventh Street, booked a Tuolumne County felony warrant charging him with a June, 2003, burglary and on suspicion of vandalism and obstructing an officer. According to a sheriff's reports, deputies attempting to make the warrant arrest at the residence were told by one resident, Jeanine Marie Bunch, 43, that Hockey was not in. But after offcicers found him hiding in the attic, he allegedly busted a hole in the ceiling, jumped into the living room and fled. Deputies later arrested Hockey nearby. He was held this morning in lieu of $36,000 bail. Bunch, arrested on suspicion of aiding a felon, was held in lieu of $10,000 bail this morning.

SUNDAY

6:37 a.m., Jamestown — A 25-year-old Seco Street woman was arrested on suspicion of spousal abuse after arrest at her home. No details were available. She was held in lieu of $35,000 bail this morning.

Gerald Matthew Hazelwood, 47, 22500 block of Middlecamp Road, Twain Harte, booked at 8:20 p.m. Sunday after arrest at the Reynolds Ferry boat ramp.

Timothy Jerry Ferris, 40, 800 block of Joaquin, Manteca, booked at 12:39 a.m. Saturday after arrest at Sanguinetti and Old Wards Ferry roads.

Scott Freeman Negle, 41, 18600 block of North Clovis Avenue, Fresno, booked at 3:38 a.m. Saturday after arrest on Twain Harte Drive north of Tiffeni Drive.

Jeffrey Brian Martin, 26, 700 block of North 47th Avenue, Capitola, booked at 5 p.m. Saturday after arrest on suspicion of drunken boat driving on Tulloch Reservoir at Connor Estates.

Paul Werner Luscher, 58, 3200 block of Acton Way, Roseville, booked at 6:37 p.m. Saturday after arrest at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds.

Lloyd Merritt Beardsley Jr., 39, 20000 block of Dambacher Drive, Sonora, booked at 6:57 p.m. Saturday after arrest at Washington and Gold streets. in Sonora.

Randy Carl Rogers, 44, 18300 block of Yosemite Road, Tuolumne, booked at 9:20 p.m. Saturday after arrest at Sanguinetti Loop and Sanguinetti roads. He was also charged with parole violation and was held this morning without bail.

Tony Patrick McCaughey, 51, 11300 block of Silver Pine Drive, Sonora, booked at 11:01 p.m. Saturday after arrest at Golf Links Road and Highway 108.

Tiffany Lee Shepherd, 23, 600 block of Stewart Street, Sonora, booked at 2:12 a.m. Sunday after arrest on Gold Street in Sonora.

THURSDAY

9:53 a.m., public fight — An officer went to Hair We Are on Mono Way for a report of a fight.

1:12 p.m., traffic accident — No one was injured in a traffic accident on Stockton Road and Green Street.

3:50 p.m., theft — A caller said money and a pocket computer were stolen from a jacket while the caller was at work on Hospital Road.

7:18 p.m., theft — An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting items from Wal-Mart on Sanguinetti Road.

7:42 p.m., found property — A caller found two purses between playing fields at Cassina High School on Barretta Street.

7:51 p.m., vandalism — A woman detained three boys who wrote graffiti at an apartment complex on the 200 block of Greenley Road.

10:46 p.m., miscellaneous harassment — A Wal-Mart security officer said a man was hanging out in front of the store bothering customers.

10:48 p.m., traffic violations — A teenage boy said rocks were thrown at his car by other teens on Linoberg Street.

FRIDAY

1:54 a.m., public intoxication — A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on Highway 49.

10:01 a.m., vandalism — A woman living on North Shepherd Street said someone shot paintballs at her home the day before. Her home was also paintballed two weeks ago, but she did not report that incident at the time, she said.

12:08 p.m., traffic accident — A woman was struck by a car as she was walking across a crosswalk on South Washington Street. She refused medical treatment but said she was having some pain.

3:28 p.m., public intoxication — A 43-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after she was reportedly found walking in the middle of Stockton Road.

9:17 p.m., suspicious circumstance — A man fell off a bar stool and hit his head at a business on the first block of South Washington Street.

10:18 p.m., public intoxication — Two people, ages 55 and 42, were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on the 100 block of South Washington Street after police received a report of a woman refusing to leave a bar.

SATURDAY

12:42 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Mono Way and Greenley Road.

8:43 p.m., possible injury — A man said a child on the 200 block of Greenley Road fell off some playground equipment and might have a broken arm.

9:51 p.m., assault — A security officer at the Sonora Blues Festival at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds said two women got into a fight and one bit the other on the ear.

10:06 p.m., trespass — A woman on Snell Street said a group of people were in the Sonora High School swimming pool and using the diving board. They eventually ran off in the direction of the Red Church.

10:16 p.m., suspicious circumstance — A passing driver saw a group of teens standing near a sport utility vehicle with a gas can at East Bald Mountain Road and East Lyons Street.

11:06 p.m., theft — A man reported the theft of a check card on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

11:46 p.m., assault — A man said a person on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road called him names and shoved him.

SUNDAY

1:27 a.m., public intoxication — A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on South Stewart Street.

4:58 a.m., public intoxication — A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

THURSDAY

8:01 a.m., Valley Springs — An abandoned vehicle on the corner of St. Andrews and Highway 26 was reported as a road hazard.

8:13 a.m., San Andreas — A caller said there was a suspicious-looking person at a cemetery on Pixley Avenue.

2:26 p.m., San Andreas — A gate on the 5300 block of Hawver Road was stolen.

5:26 p.m., Copper Cove — A house on the 900 block of Feather Court was broken into and a video game player was stolen.

6:10 p.m., San Andreas — A Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital emergency room employee said a child was shot by a sibling with a BB gun.

11:50 p.m., Douglas Flat — A man was arrested on suspicion of public drunkenness on the 1400 block of Main Street.

FRIDAY

5:37 a.m., Arnold — A caller on the 1100 block of Highway 4 complained about construction noise, but was told Calaveras County does not have a noise ordinance in place.

7 a.m., San Andreas — Deputies received a report that a child had been shot with an air gun by another child on the 200 block of Oak Street.

SATURDAY

8:30 a.m., West Point — A burglary was reported at a business on the 200 block of Main Street.

5:20 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said children were throwing rocks at each other on St. Charles Street. An investigation later revealed they were actually throwing plums.

11:08 p.m., Valley Springs — Deputies arrested a man on suspicion of public intoxication on the first block of Highway 26.

Felony bookings

THURSDAY

12:30 a.m., Valley Springs — Laura Marie Blood, 35, 400 block of West Elm Street, Lodi, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving while under the influence after an arrest on Highway 12 and Double Springs Road. She has since been released on her own recognizance.

SATURDAY

11:30 a.m., Valley Springs — A 28-year-old Valley Springs man was arrested by deputies on a charge of battery to a spouse or cohabitant, criminal threats and methamphetamine possession. According to the victim's statement, he attempted to strangle her and stepped on her chest while she was on the ground. The man remained in custody this morning in lieu of $80,000 bail. The incident is still under investigation.
