The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


10:15 a.m., miscellaneous codes — Three people outside of a business on West Stockton Street were told to leave because they were suspected of panhandling.

5:32 p.m., public intoxication — Drunk people were in a fight at Courthouse Park that was broken up before officers arrived. No arrests were made.

6:27 p.m., disorderly conduct — Someone at a business on Sanguinetti Road was “creating problems” for the second night in a row. The person refused to leave and police officers were called to the scene. The person then left after contacting a cab for a ride and was told not to return to the business.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:43 a.m., Sonora area — Someone went to the Sheriff’s Office lobby to report a possible scam that occurred at a residence on Cabezut Road.

9:47 a.m., Jamestown — Someone from 10100 block of Peppermint Circle went to the Sheriff’s Office lobby to report harassment on Facebook.

12:59 p.m., Soulsbyville — Someone went to the Sheriff’s Office lobby to report a suspected Internet scam that occurred on the 20500 block of Charlotte Court.

1:25 p.m., Sonora area — Someone called to report a pallet of bottled water that was left in the road at Mono Way and Sanguinetti Road. The caller was transferred to California Highway Patrol.

5:43 p.m., Jamestown — Someone called about six people at a park at Main and Smoke streets. One man wasn’t wearing a shirt and had “outlaw” tattooed on his stomach while another had a pit bull with him.

7:21 p.m., Sonora area — Someone said two or three handguns were stolen from inside a residence on the 22000 block of Fallview Lane.

9:13 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said there was a fight behind her apartment building on the 10200 block of Preston Lane.

10:51 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 20400 block of Skyline Road said her neighbors have evacuated due to the Rim Fire, but a car pulled up to their driveway. She said the car drove away when she yelled out her neighbor’s name.


12:44 a.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 17900 block of Seco Street said an unknown person from Modesto was calling her and making death threats.

5:42 a.m., Jamestown  — A man said two other men were under his vehicle attempting to break into it at Shell Road Access and Old Melones Dam Road.

Felony bookings


1:49 a.m., East Sonora — Richard Brandon Meza, 20, of the 14600 block of Mono Way, was booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary, after an arrest at his home.

5:38 a.m., Sonora — Shyessa Shontae Moss, 23, of the 100 block of West Lane, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest on the 100 block of West Lane.

3:38 p.m., Sonora area — Maxwell Navarre Lee, 23, of the 100 block of Kyle Road, Arcadia, Mo., was booked on suspicion of possessing a dangerous weapon, after an arrest at Phoenix Lake Road and Hess Avenue.

9:38 p.m., Jamestown — Roel Robert Trevino, 18, of the 400 block of Brian Court, Merced, was booked on suspicion of vandalism and criminal conspiracy, after an arrest on the 18100 block of Seventh Avenue. 


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


5:15 p.m., Paloma — A woman said someone put a large dead rattlesnake in her car on Lawson Road. The car was unlocked and windows were down, but she believed it was intentional and didn’t crawl in on its own.

No bookings in Calaveras County Jail on Wednesday.
