TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

12:47 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury traffic accident between a white Toyota sedan and a silver Toyota pickup blocked traffic at Mono Way and South Barretta Street.

1:11 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury accident between a silver Honda Civic and a silver Cadillac blocked westbound traffic on Mono Way.

7:12 p.m., pedestrian check — Several transients on vacant property on Hospital Road were told to leave.

SATURDAY

5:04 p.m., theft — While a woman was in custody, items were stolen from her residence on the 200 block of Greenley Road.

10:51 p.m., suspicious circumstances — Reckless driving was reported on Fairview Lane.

SUNDAY

1:35 p.m., traffic violations — A 19-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of exhibition of speed and failing to carry registration at North Washington Street and Shaws Flat Road.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

4:45 a.m., Tuolumne — A package containing half a gram of methamphetamine was found at a business on the 19400 block of Tuolumne Road North. Authorities reviewed surveillance tape but were unable to determine who dropped the package.

4 p.m., Sonora area — A purse was stolen on the 20500 block of Lori Lane two weeks ago and the victim’s bank account has been charged at three Sonora businesses since then.

4:11 p.m., Sonora area — Gas was stolen from a vehicle on the 20100 block of Highway 108.

6:56 p.m., Tuolumne — A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on the 18300 block of Yosemite Road.

10:27 p.m., Jamestown — An 18-year-old woman and 19-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of disturbing the peace and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a loud party was reported at their home on the 17200 block of Jeanese Drive.

11:32 p.m., Sonora area — A woman’s neighbor plugged an extension cord into her power box on the 19600 block of Serrano Road and hooked it up to his own, apparently trying to steal her electricity.

SATURDAY

7:31 a.m., Sonora area — A truck was on fire on the 18100 block of Calle Oeste Road. 

4:04 p.m., Jamestown — Three dogs were chained up at an abandoned property on the 8400 block of Old Melones Dam Road. 

5:12 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said that a maintenance man watching her lot on the 18700 block of Highway 108 whistles at her and gives her a “Cheshire cat grin.”

8:45 p.m., Tuolumne — A fight was reported at a business on the 19400 block of Tuolumne Road North. An elderly man was knocked to the ground and kicked several times.

9:43 p.m., Sonora area — A man heard a window being punched in at his neighbor’s apartment on the 20200 block of Sparrow Lane. Two men left the scene when they saw the man looking at them.

SUNDAY

10:49 a.m., Columbia — Gas was stolen from two vehicles on the 22300 block of Church Lane.

12:08 p.m., Groveland — A trash bin was on fire on the 19200 block of Pine Mountain Lake Drive. 

1:34 p.m., Sonora area — A non-injury vehicle accident was reported on 19800 block of Highway 108.

1:57 p.m., Twain Harte — Three windows of a bank on the 22900 block of Twain Harte Drive were damaged with a BB gun.

4:52 p.m., Don Pedro — A vehicle accident was reported on the 100 block of Bonds Flat Road.

8:08 p.m., Jamestown — A ceiling fan was on fire at a home on the 18300 block of Railbed Road.

SATURDAY

5:25 a.m., Jamestown — Kenneth William Coleman, 53, of the 300 block of South Waring Road, Denair, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs after an arrest at Highway 49 and Sierra Rock Road. He was also booked on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of drugs, being under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

SUNDAY

3:46 p.m., Sonora area — James Edward Benites, 67, of the 300 block of Snell Street, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs, possession of drugs for sale and possession of narcotics after an arrest at his home. He was also booked on misdemeanor charges of possession of billy club and being under the influence of drugs.

FRIDAY

5:14 p.m., Tuolumne — Zachary Clemente Vargas, 32, of the 12600 block of Junipero Serra Way, Groveland, was booked after an arrest on the 18700 block of Main Street. 

9 p.m., Twain Harte — Noel Herbert Johnson, 79, of the 21800 block of Crystal Falls Drive, Sonora, was booked after an arrest at Highway 108 and Twain Harte Drive. 

9:02 p.m., Sonora area — Kristin Marie Kappl, 25, of the 22900 block of North Tuolumne Road, Twain Harte, was booked after an arrest on the 800 block of Mono Way. She was also booked on a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of drugs and driving an unregistered vehicle.

SATURDAY

7:10 p.m., Jamestown — Rory Gregory Rodrigues, 29, of the 1700 block of Sapling Court, Concord, was booked after an arrest at Highway 49 and Rawhide Road.

9:33 p.m., Sonora area — Zachary James Saldivar, 34, of the 11300 block of Columbia Village Drive, was booked after an arrest at Parrotts Ferry Road and Springfield roads.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

8:28 a.m., Valley Springs — A citation was issued after officers responded to a family altercation on Anderson Street.

9:01 a.m., Angels Camp — Items were left in the roadway at Dogtown Road near Schmauder Mine Road that could damage vehicles.

9:31 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — An arrest was made on multiple charges after an officer saw a suspicious vehicle at Jesus Maria Road near Highway 26.

11:15 a.m., San Andreas — An intoxicated person was arrested at the Mark Twain Medical Center emergency department.

2:19 p.m., San Andreas — A firearm was reported stolen on Main Street.

2:35 p.m., Burson — A vehicle was stolen from in front of a house on Keystone Way.

3:43 p.m., Avery — Possible threats and stalking were reported on Highway 4.

4:31 p.m., Valley Springs — Vandalism was reported on Highway 12 near Lime Creek Road.

6:42 p.m., Valley Springs — A physical fight occurred on Quail Oaks Road.

7:33 p.m., Sheep Ranch — An unlocked residence was burglarized on Waldears Path.

10:49 p.m., San Andreas — An assault victim was at the emergency department at Mark Twain Medical Center.

11:56 p.m., Arnold — An arrest was made on local warrants after an officer contacted a suspicious person on Highway 4.

SATURDAY

7:37 a.m., Burson — A bull was in the roadway on Highway 12 near Messing Road.

10:09 a.m., Copperopolis — Grand theft was reported on Arrowhead Street.

4:35 p.m., San Andreas — Someone was arrested on local warrants at Turner Park.

6:19 p.m., San Andreas — Someone was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on West St. Charles Street.

7:42 p.m., San Andreas — A residence on Mountain Ranch Road was burglarized. 

8:20 p.m., San Andreas — A residence on Pope Street was vandalized during a fight. 

SUNDAY

9:55 a.m., San Andreas — San Andreas Elementary School on Lewis Avenue was vandalized.

1:53 p.m., Burson — A residence on Southpaw Lane was burglarized.

4:12 p.m., Murphys — A residence on Jones Street was burglarized.

7:52 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone was reported driving under the influence on the 100 block of Nove Way.

FRIDAY

10:16 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — Isaiah Dyken, 27, of the 6300 block of Hawver Road, San Andreas, was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale and selling marijuana after an arrest at Highway 26 and Jesus Maria Road. He was also booked on misdemeanor charges of obstructing a peace officer, battery on a peace officer and possession of marijuana over 28.5 grams.

SATURDAY

8:24 p.m., Angels Camp — Daniel Alexander Buckingham, 40, of the 600 block of Bret Harte Drive, Copperopolis, was booked on suspicion of threatening crime with the intent to terrorize after an arrest on Vallecito Road. He was also booked on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. 

SUNDAY

7:26 p.m., Valley Springs — Michael Christopher Malysa, 31, of the 5300 block of Baldwin Street, was booked on suspicion of altering a firearm identification mark and grand theft firearm after an arrest at his home.

3:50 p.m., Valley Springs — James Maclin McLauchlan, 44, of the 7700 block of Yost Road, was booked after an arrest at highways 12 and 26. He was also booked on misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of drugs and driving a vehicle as an addict.
