Sheriff's reports

WEDNESDAY

6:54 a.m., Big Hill — A woman on the 22700 block of Quail Mine Road said someone tried to steal her car overnight but was thwarted by another car parked behind it.

8:25 a.m., Jamestown — A man said he parked his car for about 20 minutes at a business on Jamestown Road. When he came back it had been broken into and two chain saws and a cell phone were stolen.

9:59 a.m., East Sonora — A man on the 19500 block of Roselyn Lane said a newly constructed fence, his house and his vehicle were hit with paint balls overnight.

10:49 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said her vehicle was broken into twice in the last week while it was parked on the Twain Harte Drive.

11:16 a.m., Don Pedro — A man said three teens in a small white four-door car were suspiciously pulling into driveways at houses on Arbolada Drive.

2:02 p.m., Jamestown area — A woman on the 11000 block of Shotgun Creek Road said a man in a white Dodge pickup truck had been sitting in front of the caller's house, but moved to another house and sat in his truck there for awhile before leaving.

2:28 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 18400 block of Gardner Avenue said she found two "cigarette-type items" wrapped in cellophane on the street in front of her house.

3 p.m., Soulsbyville — A man said a woman with two dogs was sitting in a chair on an empty lot on Jubilee Court staring at a cable.

5:01 p.m., Jamestown — A man said a $500 car part delivered to his house on the 18000 block of Daley Court was stolen.

5:07 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman said two men in their 20s were shooting guns and drinking at the end of Mt. Elizabeth Road.

6:33 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said a man took a license plate off the back of her van and drove off.

6:47 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman said four or five men were arguing in the middle of Kome Road near Pela Road.

7:50 p.m., East Sonora — A caller in the drive-thru lane at a fast food restaurant on the 13700 block of Mono Way said the driver in front of her in a white and red Dodge pickup truck was drinking beer.

7:55 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said children were playing in an unsafe barn on Seco Street. The property is posted with no trespassing signs.

8:05 p.m., Crystal Falls — A 34-year-old woman was cited for driving on a suspended license after a traffic stop on Crystal Falls Drive at Eel River Drive.

8:18 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10200 block of Preston Lane said her grandson's red-and-silver bicycle was stolen.

8:33 p.m., Quail Hollow — A caller said there was a woman who looked like she was homeless on her porch ringing the doorbell. The caller was afraid to open the door.

8:59 p.m., Jamestown — Two men and a woman were reported fighting in Rocca Park on Main Street. A deputy talked with the three and determined they were arguing but not fighting.

9:29 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said six or more children were playing hide-and-seek in a parking lot on the 10300 block of Preston Lane. A deputy told the kids to play in the trees and not in between cars.

10:09 p.m., Crystal Falls — A 40-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants after a traffic stop on Crystal Falls Drive.

10:31 p.m., Columbia — A 47-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with driving on a suspended license after arrest on Parrotts Ferry Road at Columbia Village Drive.

11:52 p.m., Jamestown — A 30-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant charging him with fighting in public after a traffic stop and arrest on the 18300 block of Highway 108. Also arrested was a 38-year-old woman who was cited on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and released.

YESTERDAY

2:04 a.m., Belleview Oaks — A woman said a man with a flashlight wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt was walking on Water Oak Road looking into cars.

2:09 a.m., Belleview Oaks — A man on Phoenix Lake Road near Belleview Road said the back passenger window on his car was broken out.

5:23 a.m., Belleview Oaks — A 30-year-old man was booked on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia after an arrest on Bellview Creek Road at Phoenix Lake Road.

Felony bookings

WEDNESDAY

5:50 p.m., Sonora — William Joseph Kerr, 27, 18300 block of Poppy Terrace, Twain Harte, booked on a felony parole hold after an arrest at the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department. No details were available. He remained held without bail this morning.

YESTERDAY

9:33 p.m., Soulsbyville area — William Augustus Nesler III, 22, 21300 block of Shaws Flat Road, Sonora, booked on suspicion of vehicle theft and robbery after an arrest on Allison Way at Highway 108.

According to a sheriff's report, Nesler went to Patrick Parrish's house on the 20300 block of Sunshine Road North around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Parrish, 51, told a deputy Nesler came into the house, kicked down the bedroom door where Parrish was sleeping and demanded $600. Nesler said Parrish's ex-girlfriend owed Nesler back rent on a trailer.

When Parrish said he didn't have any money, Nesler demanded Parrish's truck and ownership papers. Nesler then forced Parrish to write a note that said "I give the truck to Willie," when Parrish could not produce the pink slip.

Nesler left with Parrish's 1995 Ford Ranger pickup truck. Parrish called the Sheriff's Department and an be-on-the-lookout order was issued for Nesler and the truck.

Yesterday, around 9 p.m., Parrish called the sheriff's department when Nesler showed back up at the house and began pounding on the door. Two deputies arrived and saw two men running from Parrish's house. Deputy Ed Warnock followed the two men while Deputy James Gragg went to Parrish's house.

As Gragg approached the house, Nesler walked out from some bushes and was arrested.

He remained held this morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Sonora police reports

WEDNESDAY

10:19 a.m., found property — A caller found a woman's wallet on South Green Street at Linoberg Street and turned it into the police department, which turned it over to the owner.

12:41 p.m., unclassified — A caller said building material waste was on the side of North Stewart Street.

1:03 p.m., fraudulent activity — A caller from Mervyn's on Sanguinetti Road said the store received a fake check.

8:20 p.m., reckless driving — A caller said a young woman driving a white car almost hit someone in the parking lot at Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

8:38 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man who did not seem to be "all there "approached him and a friend on the track at Sonora High School. The man then left and went into a downtown bar, the caller said.

WEDNESDAY

6:28 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 2100 block of Grouse Drive said someone broke her car's back window.

7:03 a.m., Rail Road Flat — A man was reportedly carrying a rifle at the intersection of Independence and Ridge roads.

7:18 a.m., Copperopolis — A caller said a man was being detained on the 3200 block of Rock Creek Road for shooting a goose. A deputy found that the goose flew into a power line and no one was detained.

7:31 a.m., Mokelumne Hill — A caller on the 8100 block of Church Street said his tool pack was stolen from the back of his truck, which was parked in his driveway.

10:57 a.m., Valley Springs — Mailboxes were vandalized near Heinemann Drive.

11:50 a.m., Burson — A domestic disturbance was reported on the 7700 block of Burson Road.

1:59 p.m., Valley Springs — Shoplifting was reported at Radio Shack on the 200 block of Highway 12.

2:56 p.m., Murphys — Mail was reportedly stolen on the 3500 block of Murphys Grade Road.

3:38 p.m., Arnold — Shoplifting was reported at a business on Highway 4.

5:29 p.m., Murphys — There was a disturbance among friends on the 1600 block of Shelter Lane.

6:11 p.m., Angels Camp — Two people were claiming they owned the same dog on the 600 block of Lakeview Court.

8:54 p.m., Wallace — There was a possible prowler on the 200 block of Creekview Lane.

9:32 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 6400 block of Cane Lane said she smelled strong cigarette smoke outside her house, but it was actually a burn pile.

WEDNESDAY

10:16 p.m., Calaveras/Amador County Line — Gary Blue Hunt, 29, 1000 block of Taves Road, Pine Grove, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale. Hunt remained in custody this morning at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $80,000 bail.

10:16 p.m., Calaveras/Amador County Line — Micah Zane Spearing, 31, 5500 block of Old Immigrant Trail, Mountain Ranch, booked on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale. As of this morning, Spearing remained in custody at the county jail in lieu $80,000 bail.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Tiffany Marie Howry, 21, first block of Ridge Road, Rail Road Flat, booked at 12:10 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Mountain Ranch Road, east of Murray Creek Road.

Larry Douglas Roberts, 31, 7200 block of Miner Road, Mountain Ranch, booked at 2:29 a.m. yesterday after arrest on the 200 block of Sequoia Avenue in Valley Springs.
