Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

6:20 a.m., Crystal Falls — A woman said a neighbor's dogs had been barking for over an hour. She said it was unusual and asked for a deputy to drive by Feather River Drive and Crystal Falls Drive West to see if anything was the matter.

7:31 a.m., Jamestown — A man on the 10500 block of Highway 108 said two vehicles were broken into overnight and money stolen from one ashtray.

7:54 a.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10300 block of Willow Street said items were stolen overnight from her unlocked vehicle.

8:16 a.m., Jamestown — Another woman on the 10300 block of Willow Street said her car was broken into overnight, a truck left open and the inside trashed.

9:57 a.m., Twain Harte — An 18-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor warrants for burglary at his house on Confidence Road.

12:41 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said her 45-year-old friend was attacked by three people as he was walking on Seco Street.

1:29 p.m., Twain Harte — A Twain Harte Shell employee said a counterfeit $10 bill was passed at the business on the 22800 block of Twain Harte Drive over the weekend.

2:23 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a man and woman were arguing in front of a business on Joaquin Gully Road.

5:36 p.m., Groveland — A man on the 11200 block of Inspiration Drive said a suspicious-looking woman was drinking alcohol in the caller's driveway.

6:32 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 18200 block of Ninth Avenue said her car was burglarized and a telephone and charger were stolen.

6:58 p.m., Willow Springs — A man said two teens were riding a motorcross motorcycle in a park on Willow Springs Drive. He was concerned they might vandalize the grounds.

7:34 p.m., Jamestown — A man on the 18100 block of Seventh Street said a cordless drill was stolen from his unlocked pickup truck overnight.

8:46 p.m., Shaws Flat Road — A man said several people in a Jeep and a Chevrolet pickup truck were smashing mailboxes on Shaws Flat Road and Mt. Brow Road. The caller stopped one vehicle and said he would handle the situation with the teen's parents.

9:41 p.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a vehicle was on fire between the east and west entrances to Twain Harte off Highway 108. CDF was called to help with what turned out to be a vehicle that had overheated, but was not on fire.

11:52 p.m., Jamestown — The owner of Pine Alley Rentals said after getting a call about the alarm going off at the business on the 18400 block of Jamestown Road, her husband discovered a broken window.

YESTERDAY

1:32 a.m., Sonora — A service man on active duty in Kuwait called the sheriff's department to say he paid $700 for gold nuggets on eBay more than 90 days ago from a person in Tuolumne County and had not received them. He was told by eBay to contact the sheriff's department.

4:21 a.m., Belleview Oaks — A man on the 16000 block of Acorn Drive said a flashlight was shone into his windows and a person tried the front door knob. When the caller turned on the outside lights, the person left.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

8:24 p.m., Sonora — Rachel Michelle Hooper, 31, 600 block of South Stewart Street, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court, drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and less than one ounce of marijuana after an arrest at her house.

Also arrested was a 19-year-old man on misdemeanor warrants for traffic infractions.

According to a Sonora police report, Hooper and the man were arguing in front of Hooper's house. When officers arrived they discovered the warrants and arrested them both.

Hooper remained held this morning in lieu of $30,000 bail.

10:06 p.m., Groveland — Chad Lee Carmichael, 27, 18100 block of Mt. Eaton Road, Tuolumne, booked on a warrant charging him with drug possession and a misdemeanor count of being under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop and arrest on Merrell Road at Vernal Road. He remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Kevin Lee Welch, 24, 500 block of Rushing Road, Waterford, booked at 12:28 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Mono Way at Greenley Road, Sonora.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

5:55 a.m., animal complaints — Dogs that live on the 200 block of Hospital Road were seen running loose in the morning and previous night.

10:34 a.m., warrant arrest — A 37-year-old woman was arrested on misdemeanor warrants after a traffic stop on Highway 108 east of South Washington Street.

11:49 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A city worker saw children throwing bikes over a hill on Childs Road and beating them with rocks.

1:25 p.m., theft — A caller from Tuolumne General Hospital said a prescription pad was stolen and a person was trying to write prescriptions for narcotics.

5:19 p.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer talked to a homeless woman who said she was sent to Sonora by a Calaveras County drug and alcohol program that was unable to accommodate her any longer.

6:44 p.m., theft — A boy stopped for shoplifting from Wal-Mart was turned over to juvenile probation officials after refusing to give his name.

9:48 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller saw two men break a window at a business on South Washington Street and run away.

TUESDAY

7:38 a.m., Murphys — Loud music was being played at a construction site on the first block of Oak Tree Circle.

12:24 p.m., Copperopolis — A caller on the 1000 block of Shoreline Boulevard said a neighbor was using heavy equipment to put a road through the caller's property.

1:45 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — There was a report of a man in a silver vehicle along Highway 49. The caller was unsure if the man needed help or if he was just sleeping.

2:58 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 2500 block of Stage Coach Drive said someone was driving a vehicle up and down the street. The driver dropped someone off and then turned around and picked him up again, the caller said.

4:34 p.m., Valley Springs — An illegal Internet posting was reported on the 100 block of Shalimar Drive.

5:06 p.m., Copperopolis — A verbal argument between neighbors was reported in the Poker Flat Subdivision.

6:17 p.m., San Andreas — A domestic fight was reported on the 500 block of Lewis Avenue.

7:28 p.m., Arnold — A caller on the 1000 block of Lilac Drive was in an argument on the phone during a child exchange.

8:11 p.m., Rancho Calaveras — Domestic abuse was reported on the 7700 block of Jenny Lind Road.

9:29 p.m., Hathaway Pines — A man on the 100 block of Cedar Drive said several items were stolen from him.

11:26 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller said a vehicle was driving on the 2700 block of Stage Coach Drive with its music blaring.

YESTERDAY

3:28 a.m., Murphys — A deputy was requested to check on the bar at the Murphys Historic Hotel & Lodge on the 400 block of Main Street.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

6:35 p.m., Copperopolis — Mark Anthony Nunes, 46, 7400 block of Rock Creek Road, Copperopolis, booked on a felony battery charge. Nunes remained in custody this morning at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

6:40 p.m., San Andreas — Nathan Michael Matson, 30, 500 block of Lewis Avenue, San Andreas, booked on a felony battery charge. As of this morning, Matson remained in custody at the county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Nicholas Alexander Riggle, 22, of Valley Springs, booked at 9:52 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Highway 26, west of Hogan Dam Road.
