The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


1:55 a.m., traffic violations — A 32-year-old man was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and a lighting violation at Gold and South Stewart streets. 

8:24 a.m., animal complaints — Someone was bitten by a stray dog on South Washington Street. The dog was not found.

1:52 p.m., drugs — Police received an anonymous tip about a man selling prescription drugs on South Green Street.

7:36 p.m., reckless driving — Someone was driving recklessly on Mono Way. Police were unable to locate the driver.

7:42 p.m., warrant arrest — A 28-year-old man was arrested on East Live Oak Drive on a misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


12:31 a.m., Groveland — A vehicle was stopped for not displaying a front license plate at Pleasant View and Mueller drives. The 24-year-old male driver was arrested for an out-of-county warrant.

8:02 a.m., Columbia — Someone broke a window of a U.S. Postal Service vehicle on the 22600 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

9:37 a.m., Sonora area — Someone has been stealing electricity from a vacant rental property on the 20800 block of Longeway Road by using an extension cord.

2:16 p.m., Sonora area — A woman’s personal information was used to purchase a vehicle at a Toyota dealership. The woman said her information was recently stolen from her boss’s safe.

2:36 p.m., Sonora area — Illegal dumping was reported on the 15700 block of Old Oak Ranch Road.

3:24 p.m., Groveland — A display in the front window of the Groveland Museum on Highway 120 was vandalized.

3:32 p.m., Jamestown — An company reported that its equipment at Jamestown Mine has been damaged and its copper wire stolen.


5:06 a.m., Jamestown — Cal Fire found a backpack on the 10700 block of Wigwam Road containing an American flag, old drafting set, rifle scope, pornography and unopened window locks.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


8:25 p.m., Twain Harte — Jeanette Condit, 36, of the 500 block of Wild Stallion Drive, Oakdale, was booked after an arrest on Meadow Lane at Twain Harte Drive.



7:39 a.m., Wallace — Three mailboxes were pried open at the United States Postal Service office on Camanche Parkway South.

9:18 a.m., Valley Springs — Gas was stolen from a truck on Hautly Lane overnight.

3:25 p.m., Murphys — Someone was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at a business on the 400 block of Main Street.

6:09 p.m., Angels Camp — Reckless driving was reported at Highway 49 and North Main Street.

Felony bookings


12:30 p.m., Glencoe — Francisco Jesus Becerra, 44, of the 700 block of Ridge Road, was booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and a misdemeanor charge of battery after an arrest at his home.

9:40 p.m., Copperopolis — Raymond William Held, 31, of the 2100 block of Arrowhead Street, was booked on suspicion of violation of parole and a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication after an arrest on the 2700 block of Little John Road.
