WEDNESDAY

7:02 a.m., Quail Hollow — A man on the 12700 block of Chukar Circle said a man threatened him, and he just discovered his tires were slashed.

8:21 a.m., Twain Harte — A Community Service Unit volunteer found a man sleeping in a parked vehicle with the engine running on Joaquin Gully Road near Twain Harte Drive.

10:38 a.m., Standard area — A Sierra Steamway Restorations employee said a company vehicle was vandalized in the past few days.

11:30 a.m., Big Oak Flat — A Tuolumne County road department employee said wooden pallets stored on the 11000 block of Wards Ferry Road were stolen.

11:40 a.m., East Sonora — A pharmacy employee said medication was picked up fraudulently. The discrepancy was discovered when the right person came to pick up the medication.

12:14 p.m., Standard area — A woman on the 19900 block of Highway 108 said a barbecue's propane tank was stolen from her house.

2:51 p.m., Moccasin — A caller said someone driving a blue pickup was trespassing on property near Marshs Flat Road

3:43 p.m., Sonora — A postal employee said an elderly man has not picked up his mail in several days and she was concerned for him. The employee later called back to say the man was in the hospital.

6:19 p.m., East Sonora — A caller said a woman left a baby unattended in a vehicle while at businesses in The Junction shopping center. Once, the baby was seen crying for 10 minutes. Another time, the baby was asleep and left alone for 15 minutes. Child Welfare Services was notified.

9:07 p.m., Sonora — A DVD player was reported stolen from an unlocked car parked at Sonora Crossroad shopping center.

YESTERDAY

3:33 a.m., East Sonora — A woman said people threw ice at her while she was at a convenience store on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

YESTERDAY

10:35 a.m., Crystal Falls — Brandon Jeffrey Stearns, 27, 22100 block of Crystals Falls Drive, booked on a warrant charging him with possessing a controlled substance, probation violation and failure to appear after an arrest at his home. He remained held this morning without bail.

5:30 p.m., Columbia — James Andrew Halstead, 19, 22800 block of Sharon Road, Columbia, booked on warrants charging him with vehicle theft, possessing less than an ounce of marijuana and drunken driving after an arrest at his house. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $30,000 bail.

10:15 p.m., Jamestown — Julie Ann Marie Johnson, 33, 10200 block of Preston Lane, booked on suspicion of child endangerment after an arrest at her home. She remained in custody this morning in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Clayton Earl Bailey, 55, 26400 block of Old Mono Road, Cold Springs, booked at 3:15 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Highway 108 in Long Barn.

Vernon Lee Tapia, 50, 10900 block of Green Street, Sonora, booked at 10:23 p.m. yesterday after arrest on Jackson and Shepherd streets, Sonora.

Sonora police reports

WEDNESDAY

2:12 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman called 911 and said a man was on a deck on the 600 block of South Stewart Street and would not leave.

3:19 a.m., found property — An officer on foot patrol found $15 cash on a sidewalk near a business on the 30 block of South Stewart Street. He placed the money in an evidence locker.

6:25 a.m., theft — A woman on the 90 block of North Stewart Street said someone stole the stereo from her parked vehicle overnight.

9:56 a.m., disorderly conduct — A customer was said to be out of control at the Department of Motor Vehicles on the 800 block of Morning Star Drive.

10 a.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported on South Washington Street. The driver hit a parked vehicle and left the scene.

12:23 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A security worker at a business on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road said a man in a green pickup was making comments to employees as they were arriving at work.

10:57 p.m., burglary — A 17-year-old boy was cited on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary after police said he tried to steal a bottle of alcohol in a backpack from Pak 'n' Save on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road. The boy was turned over to juvenile probation officials.

YESTERDAY

11:15 p.m., Soulsbyville area — An electrical fire was reported within the wall of a home on the 20500 block of Kings Court. Damage was estimated at $200. Gladys Barnett of the same address owns the home. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department responded.

WEDNESDAY

7:42 a.m., Arnold — A caller reported a purse was stolen while she was shopping at a store on Highway 4.

11:19 a.m., Valley Springs — Tools were stolen from a vehicle parked at a business on the 40 block of Highway 12.

1 p.m., Vallecito — A caller said a large plaque was stolen in June 2002 from the 3300 block of Vallecito Bypass Road.

1:53 p.m., Arnold — A man said two teenage boys without shovels asked him if they could shovel his driveway on the 1000 block of Rawhide Road.

2:22 p.m., Copperopolis — A firearm was stolen from a house on the 2000 block of Beaver Street.

3:18 p.m., Burson — A caller said a man was driving around Crestview and Hillvale shooting turkeys from his vehicle.

4:34 p.m., San Andreas — A caller said teens were walking around the neighborhood on High School Road with BB guns shooting at miscellaneous things.
