CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

  11:58 a.m., Campo Seco — There was a report of grand theft on Campo Seco Road.

  12:53 a.m., Valley Springs — A battery occurred on Bane Road.

  3:49 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A grand theft occurred on Ponderosa Way.

  5:12 p.m., Valley Springs — Equipment was stolen on Heney Lane. 

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY
10:02 a.m., Columbia— A woman on the 10900 block of Green Street said she suspects a man has been stealing pictures from her residence over the past several months. A burglary report was taken.

  10:48 a.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 20000 block of Gibbs Drive said a man with a foreign accent has called her repeatedly for the last six months telling her he wants to give her $1 million and a Mercedes-Benz. She keeps telling him to stop but he continues to call and now says he will kill her if she doesn’t send him money.

  12:08 p.m., Chinese Camp — A man on the 14500 block of Perricone Road said a unknown woman called him asking for his checking account number. She said that his account had been fraudulently used on the Internet. The line was disconnected before he could give her any information.

  9:04 p.m., East Sonora — A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after being found passed out in front of Jack In The Box on Mono Way.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

  9:33 a.m., theft — A laptop computer was stolen the previous night from a Cassina High School classroom.

  1:24 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man was seen sitting on the curb in front of Staples on Sanguinetti Road, huffing duster spray and having seizures. The man walked toward Walmart after paramedics took away the duster spray. He was found behind the store and officers made sure he no longer needed medical attention. A report was sent to the District Attorney’s Office for possession of toluene. 

  8:16 p.m., public intoxication — A 71-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication after he and another man allegedly caused a disturbance in Save Mart on Stockton Road.
