The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


5:42 a.m., Columbia — Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 22900 block of Hudson Road for a report of a couple arguing and four gunshots fired. The deputies were unable to locate the origin of any gunshots but did find a couple arguing.

11:40 a.m., Soulsbyville — A man on the 20300 block of Starr King Drive said someone attempted to use his wife’s name and address in order to fraudulently take out a student loan and purchase health insurance.

2:39 p.m., Groveland — A man said a campaign sign was stolen sometime the previous night from his property on the 18700 block of Back Street. The man said he was on the opposing side of a proposed fire tax.

2:40 p.m., Sonora area — A man on the 19100 block of Sunny Circle said his PG&E Smartmeter was vandalized. He has had problems with someone tampering with his fuse panel in the past, but hasn’t noticed any unusual power outages or spikes in energy use.

7:47 p.m., Tuolumne — Two men were physically fighting at apartments on the 18400 block of Tuolumne Road.

11:50 p.m., Tuolumne — Kenneth Edward Job, 29, of the 11700 block of Essen Lane, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of transportation and sale of drugs and possession of stolen property, after an arrest at Tuolumne Road North and Tuolumne Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


7:38 a.m., assault — A woman at apartments on Mono Way said an unknown woman hit her in the head with a garden trowel while she was walking her dogs. Officers arrived and took a report for assault. The victim refused medical treatment.

8:36 a.m., theft — A child’s Red Ryder tricycle was stolen on North Forest Road.

11:18 a.m., theft — A woman on South Washington Street said someone took about 30 cans of food from inside her residence and she found 50 cigarette butts in her mailbox.

11:31 a.m., assault — A juvenile was cited for assault at Cassina High School.

12:43 p.m., public intoxication — A man was drinking a beer and yelling obscenities at passers-by near the Valero gas station on South Washington Street. He had reportedly left in a taxi when officers arrived.

2:56 p.m., theft — A theft occurred at a store on Stockton Road.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:37 a.m., Valley Springs — A battery was taken out of a motor home on Chestnut Street.

10:22 a.m., Copperopolis — A commercial burglary occurred at Lake Tulloch Resort on O’Byrnes Ferry Road.

3:51 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A shed on Pine Park Drive was broken into and items were stolen.

5:22 p.m., Valley Springs — A forgery was reported at Burger King on Highway 12.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


8:05 a.m., Angels Camp — David Martin Spadafore, 45, of an unknown address in Ceres, was arrested at Dogtown Road and Highway 49.
