Sheriff's reports

TUESDAY

6:33 a.m., Groveland — A man on the 12700 block of Mt. Jefferson Street said his stereo was stolen from his unlocked car.

7:54 a.m., Jamestown — A construction trailer parked on Victoria Way was broken into and $660 worth of tools were stolen.

8:18 a.m., Twain Harte — A man said there was on-going vandalism at a job site on the 22000 block of Longeway Road.

8:53 a.m., Sonora area — A woman said flower pots and trash cans had been dumped at Mother Lodge Job Training on the 19800 block of Cedar Road North. She said this is an ongoing problem.

8:59 a.m., Jamestown — A man said collector baseball cards valued at $260 were stolen from Main Street Antiques on Main Street.

10:39 a.m., Jamestown — A man found a box of tools in his driveway on the 18000 block of Seco Street and turned them over to the Jamestown Community Service Unit office on Main Street.

12:30 p.m., Jamestown area — A caller said people were off-loading items from a semi truck parked on Highway 120 at Jacksonville Road and putting the items onto a pickup truck.

12:45 p.m., Jamestown — A stamp and coin collection, valued at $4,000 was stolen from Alan Powell Studios on the 18200 block of Main Street.

12:55 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said a man was throwing rocks at and pounding on a car parked on Omega Mine Road near Rawhide Road with a woman inside. A deputy spoke to the woman, who said the man was angry he couldn't get the hood closed.

1:59 p.m., Jamestown — A man found a girl's bicycle by a trash bin on the 18100 block of Main Street.

4:27 p.m., Jamestown — A woman on the 10300 block of Preston Lane said her apartment was burglarized. Entry was through a bedroom window.

7:03 p.m., Jamestown — A man on Seco Street said his son was shot with a pellet gun by someone in a small red truck.

8:51 p.m., Twain Harte area — A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery at a house on the 19100 block of Middle Camp Sugar Pine Road after a woman at the house complained he pushed her out of the house and poured a drink on her.

8:55 p.m., East Sonora — A 19-year-old man was cited for reckless driving after a sheriff's sergeant saw the man driving recklessly in a parking lot on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

10:24 p.m., Columbia area — A woman said a man driving a white van went off Upper Quail Mine Road and almost into her house. She said the man was trying to back up a steep hill to get out.

11:38 p.m., Big Hill area — A man said his house on the 13000 block of Northridge Road was burglarized within the last two weeks.

YESTERDAY

12:56 a.m., Twain Harte — A caller said a 25-year-old man came to a house on the 23700 block of Leisure Drive and said he was going to stab people there.

3:23 a.m., Jamestown area — A woman said a man was walking up and down Alley Way near Golf Links Road, crying and yelling.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

7:35 a.m., Sonora — Pamela Marie Barnes, 53, 12700 block of Chukar Circle, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging her with burglary and grand theft after she turned herself in at the county jail. No details were available. She was released yesterday on her own recognizance after arraignment in court.

10:29 a.m., Sonora — Susan Marie Mayfield, 43, 5800 block of Highway 4, Hathaway Pines, booked on a warrant charging her with false impersonation and misdemeanor driving on a license suspended for a previous drunken driving conviction. She was arrested in Calaveras County and brought to the Tuolumne County Jail, where she was held this morning without bail.

3:29 p.m., Sonora — Grace Ann Haire, 38, 3900 block of Pioneer Road, Hughson, booked on a warrant charging her with transporting a controlled substance, felony vandalism and receiving stolen property after an arrest in Stanislaus County. She was also booked on misdemeanor warrants charging her with possessing drug paraphernalia. She was brought to the Tuolumne County Jail where she was held this morning without bail.

5:05 p.m., Sonora — Jonathan Stanley Penrod, 21, 20300 block of Turner Court, Sonora, booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and misdemeanor loitering after an arrest on the 100 block of South Stewart Street.

According to a Sonora police report, a man saw Penrod going through three cars parked in a lot on South Stewart Street. The man confronted Penrod and asked him how many cars he intended on going through. The man then flagged down a passing officer, who searched Penrod and found a tool box, prescription medication and two lighters. Penrod was arrested, booked and remained in jail this morning, held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

10:35 p.m., Columbia — John Andrew Romeo, 45, 22000 block of Red Gulch Road, Columbia, booked on a Contra Costa County warrant charging him with grand theft after an arrest at his house. He remained held this morning without bail.

11:49 p.m., Jamestown — Markus Allen Smith, 18, 18200 block of Smoke Street, Jamestown, booked on suspicion of unlawful sex with a minor, child molestation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after an arrest in Rocca Park on Main Street. No details were available. He remained held this morning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Sonora police reports

TUESDAY

1:10 p.m., hazardous situation — A man flagged down an officer to show him phone lines hanging too low on North Stewart Street at Cowan Street where a truck almost clipped the lines.

2 p.m., disorderly conduct — A caller said four men were fighting in a parking lot on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

3:48 p.m., animal complaints — A caller said two pit bull dogs were chasing people and motorcycles on South Barretta Street at Mono Way.

4:45 p.m., theft — A woman said cash was stolen from her purse while she was at work at Sonora Regional Medical Center on Greenley Road.

5:04 p.m., domestic violence — A caller said a man was hitting a woman and throwing papers at her in a parking lot on South Washington Street near Restano Way. The man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.

6:33 p.m., reckless driving — A caller said a possibly drunk driver in a green Jeep bumped into several cars at a gasoline station on the 300 block of South Washington Street.

7:09 p.m., traffic accident — A caller involved in a traffic accident near Courthouse Park earlier in the day said the telephone number of the other person involved has been disconnected.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

TUESDAY

7:27 a.m., San Andreas — A caller said suspicious people were dressed in camouflage and parked near a wooded area at the intersection of Jesus Maria and Hughes Ranch roads. The dispatcher told the caller they were probably hunters, however, the caller didn't believe they were. A deputy arrived and couldn't find anyone.

8:50 a.m., San Andreas — A woman on the 200 block of St. Andrews Road said she was receiving phone calls from a strange number on her caller ID. She suspected someone was calling her and subsequently violating a restraining order.

9:22 a.m., San Andreas — An employee with the Calaveras County Auditor's Office said someone's credit card was stolen and was possibly being used to purchase unwanted items.

9:28 a.m., Mountain Ranch — A male student was reportedly drunk and acting belligerently in class at a school on the 3600 block of Whiskey Slide Road. The juvenile was cited and released to the custody of his parents.

11:13 a.m., Arnold — A caller said a suspicious older woman was walking along Highway 4 and yelling incoherent things into her cell phone and disturbing the peace. Deputies contacted the upset woman, who was closing her account at the Bank of America.

6:12 p.m., Burson — A woman on the 3600 block of Burson Road said someone was violating their restraining order by contacting her and her family members.

10:28 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 100 block of Cedar Street said someone was driving around their neighborhood and harassing the residents.

Felony bookings

TUESDAY

8:05 a.m., Carson Hill — Jenell Leeane Christian, 27, 600 block of Locust Street, Lodi, booked on suspicion of stealing a vehicle, driving without a license, receiving stolen property and committing first-degree burglary. Christian remained in custody this morning at the Calaveras County Jail in lieu $65,000 bail.

9:10 p.m., Murphys — Nicole Leean Sass, 22, first block of Apple Blossom Drive, Murphys, booked on suspicion of committing fraud and second-degree burglary. As of this morning, Sass remained in custody at the county jail in lieu of $60,000 bail.

Jonathan Richard Jeffers, 21, 8900 block of Bell Court, Valley Springs, booked at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Highway 26, west of Vista Del Lago Drive.
