TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

SUNDAY

7:27 a.m., vehicle theft — A black Jeep Wrangler was stolen Saturday afternoon from the 100 block of East Jackson Street.

9:43 a.m., vehicle theft — A pool service vehicle with pool supplies in the bed was stolen on the 700 block of South Barretta Street.

11:42 a.m., theft — A wallet was stolen on Saturday from a restaurant on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

5:57 p.m., Sonora area — A man was spinning doughnuts in the Crossroads Shopping Center parking lot. He had a dog in the back of his vehicle and hit another vehicle. Police were unable to locate him.

9:45 p.m., drugs — A 29-year-old man was cited on suspicion of improperly displaying a license plate, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation on South Washington Street.

MONDAY

3:30 p.m., theft — Someone’s debit card number was stolen and used at several places.

3:48 p.m., traffic violations — A 20-year-old man was cited on suspicion of driving on a suspended license on Southgate Drive.

4:16 p.m., reckless driving — A female driver almost hit two vehicles on South Washington Street. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

8:36 a.m., Columbia — Someone sawed a hole into an outbuilding on another person’s property on the 27300 block of Italian Bar Road.

8:39 a.m., Sonora area — A seventh-grader brought a small amount of marijuana to Belleview Elementary School.

9:40 a.m., Jamestown — An AT&T account was opened under a Tuolumne address in a Jamestown man’s name.

11:18 a.m., Groveland — Eight solar lights were stolen from a property on the 19800 block of Pine Mountain Lake.

1:25 p.m., Jamestown — A vehicle on the 10300 block of Willow Street was broken into but nothing was taken.

1:28 p.m., Jamestown — A vehicle on the 10300 block of Willow Street was broken into.

2:44 p.m., Sonora area — A vehicle was vandalized on the 15200 block of Victory Way.

2:49 p.m., Jamestown — Norco was stolen from a home on the 17600 block of Twin Oak Drive.

4:26 p.m., Twain Harte — A vacation home on the 23000 block of Strauch Drive was burglarized. 

6:17 p.m., Moccasin — An overturned jeep was reported at Highway 120 and Old Priest Grade.

9:35 p.m., Columbia — A 40-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant  on the 21900 block of Sawmill Flat Road.

TUESDAY

1:45 a.m., west county — A man was tearing apart his car at Highway 120 and La Grange Road.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

12:03 a.m., Tuolumne — Timothy Michael Barlass, 19, of Tuolumne, was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger and a misdemeanor charge of battery after an arrest on the 18700 block of Cedar Street. 

Arrests

Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

MONDAY

8 a.m., Columbia — Russell Lawson Jr., 52, of the 22400 block of South Airport Road, was booked after an arrest at his home. He was also booked on a misdemeanor charge of driving with a license suspended for prior DUIs.

10:39 p.m., Sonora area — Kaitlyn Marie Zinn, 22, of the 100 block of Columbia Way, was booked after an arrest at her home. She was also booked on a misdemeanor charge of violation of probation. 

Cal Fire reported the following:

MONDAY

12:02 p.m., Sonora area — An oven caught fire while in the self-cleaning cycle at a home on the 14500 block of Phillip Lane. The fire was contained to the oven and damage was estimated at $2,000. No injuries were reported. 

CALAVERAS COUNTY 

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

10:13 a.m., Valley Springs — Grand theft was reported on Danaher Drive.

10:14 a.m., San Andreas — Someone was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on the 100 block of Main Street.

2:36 p.m., Hathaway Pines — A business on Commercial Way was burglarized.

4:05 p.m., Mountain Ranch — Identity theft was reported on Avenue A.

4:28 p.m., San Andreas — Identity theft was reported on Pixley Avenue.

5:26 p.m., San Andreas — A home on the 1900 block of Gold Strike Road was burglarized.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

7:30 a.m., San Andreas — Nathan Erle Winkler, 37, of the 100 block of Market Street, was booked on suspicion of grand theft, first and second degree burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of drugs after an arrest on the 400 block of East St. Charles Street. He was also booked on misdemeanor drug charges and traffic violations. 

7:47 a.m., San Andreas — Shelly Marie Strickland, 28, of the 12800 block of El Dorado Way, Jackson, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs and possession of narcotics after an arrest on the 400 block of East St. Charles Street. She was also booked on misdemeanor drug charges and traffic violations.
