The Sonora Police Department reported the following:
8:24 a.m., theft — A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle on the 400 block of Greenley Road.
11:17 a.m., traffic violations — A 31-year-old man was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance and a defective windshield or rear window.
1:20 p.m., traffic violations — A 60-year-old woman was cited on suspicion of driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
2:56 p.m., theft — A purse was stolen from a vehicle on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.
5:20 p.m., assault — A woman was assaulted by her neighbor on the 400 block of Greenley Road but did not want to press charges.
The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:
9:52 a.m., Jamestown — Someone tried to spend a counterfeit $100 bill at a business on the 18300 block of Highway 108. A deputy located a suspect who denied the bill was fake.
10:07 a.m., Sonora area — Puppies were stolen on the 11900 block of Appey Way.
11 a.m., Soulsbyville — Someone tried to break into a miner shed on the 19500 block of Soulsbyville Road. Entry was made into the shed but nothing was inside.
12:14 p.m., Twain Harte — A house was burglarized on the 18500 block of Woodwardia Road.
5:41 p.m., Sonora area — Someone hit a bank of mailboxes with a car on the 20400 block of Phoenix Lake Road.
6:54 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said her neighbor’s son scratched her vehicle while riding his scooter.
7:39 p.m., Jamestown — A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on the 18200 block of Main Street.
Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:
10:05 p.m., Columbia — Kenneth Ray Wivell, 75, of the 12400 block of Big Hill Road, was booked after an arrest at Highway 49 and Parrotts Ferry Road.
8:24 a.m., Valley Springs — Someone was arrested on a warrant on Cedar Street.
9:52 a.m., Valley Springs — A dog in the back of a vehicle on the 100 block of Highway 26 bit someone in the face. No medical response was requested.
9:55 a.m., San Andreas — Jewelry was stolen from a purse on the 200 block of California Street.
11:51 a.m., San Andreas — A possible poisoning was reported on Howell Road.
2:56 p.m., San Andreas — Reckless driving was reported at Calaveras High School.
3:13 p.m., Valley Springs — A Toyon Middle School student was in possession of contraband.
4:51 p.m., Copperopolis — Kids were throwing rocks at cars at Copper Cove Drive and O’Byrnes Ferry Road.
5:41 p.m., Valley Springs — A possible drunk driver was reported at Highway 12 and Toyon Circle.
5:45 p.m., Valley Springs — A car was spinning around in circles on Hoffman Court.
1:06 a.m., Copperopolis — Battery was reported on Signal Hill Trail.
9:30 p.m., Angels Camp — Joseph Adam Alvitre, 26, of an unknown address on North High Street, Sonora, was booked on suspicion possession of drugs, possession of narcotics, possession of drugs for sale, transporting drugs and possession of stolen property after an arrest at South Main and Monte Verde streets.
9:30 p.m., Angels Camp — John Robert Blackwell III, 26, of the 17800 block of West Sonora Street, Stockton, was booked on suspicion of possession of drugs, possession of narcotics, possession of drugs for sale, transporting drugs and vehicle theft after an arrest at South Main and Monte Verde streets.
