Sheriff's report

MONDAY

7:33 a.m., Crystal Falls — A man said the maintenance shop for the Crystal Falls Homeowners' Association on Crystal Falls Drive was sprayed with graffiti.

8:36 a.m., Jamestown — A Tuolumne County Public Works employee said a backhoe parked at the old Jamestown landfill property on Terrace Drive was vandalized.

9:01 a.m., Cedar Ridge — A caller said someone attempted to steal his vehicle, which was parked on the 24500 block of Quarter Horse Drive.

10:25 a.m., Twain Harte — A man said a woman stole three large sections of a dogwood tree on the 23000 block of Fuller Road.

11:03 a.m., Sonora area — A Shaws Flat Community Day School teacher said a student threatened him and then left the school on the 21100 block of Shaws Flat School Road.

11:36 a.m., Tuolumne — A Black Oak Casino security guard said people in a maroon SUV were driving in and out of the parking lot acting strange.

12:14 p.m., Belleview Oaks — A man on the 22000 block of Harmony Lane said the workshop in his garage was broken into overnight.

12:55 p.m., Standard area — A caller said a woman in a gray tweed suit driving a white Ford might have witnessed or been involved in a non-injury traffic accident on the 14200 block of Tuolumne Road.

1:34 p.m., Twain Harte — A man on the 22400 block of Lilac Lane said his house was burglarized.

3:18 p.m., Jamestown area — A caller said a man next to a white car parked on the side of Highway 120 near Green Springs Road was hitting a small child.

4:01 p.m., Crystal Falls — A woman said two teens were throwing golf balls into a horse paddock area at Crystal Falls Stables on Crystal Falls Drive.

4:58 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said a man and a woman on the 10200 block of Preston Lane were arguing and, when the man left, the woman threw something at his car.

5:22 p.m., Ranchos Poquitos — A woman said a man driving a white pickup truck was going door to door on Corte Primero to sell driveway sealant. She asked for a deputy to patrol the area.

6:07 p.m., Belleview Oaks — A woman on the 21600 block of Belleview Creek Road found her purse, which was stolen on March 24, in a neighbor's tree.

6:20 p.m., Twain Harte — A convenience store clerk said a man hit a teenager in the face at the store on the 22900 block of Joaquin Gully Road.

6:29 p.m., Standard — A caller said teens were hitting golf balls from a house on Hatler Drive onto the baseball field at Standard Park. A deputy spoke to the teens and told them to stop.

7:08 p.m., Twain Harte — A man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication on Joaquin Gully Road.

8:08 p.m., Groveland — A man on the 13000 block of Wells Fargo Drive said another man grabbed the caller's throat and made threats to the caller and his family.

9:15 p.m., Columbia — A woman said several teenagers were jumping skateboards off the steps at Columbia Elementary School on the 22500 block of Parrotts Ferry Road.

YESTERDAY

12:52 a.m., Don Pedro area — A man said the driver of a blue sedan with yellow and green flashing lights with the word "Security" written on the side tried to pull the man over. When the man stopped, the driver of the security car continued on Highway 132.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

6:34 a.m., Jamestown — Paul Eugene Brownell Jr., 21, of the 10300 block of Preston Lane, Jamestown, Shawn Carl New, 20, 20900 block of Niagara River Drive, Crystal Falls, and William Joseph Bunch, 22, 21000 block of Crystal Falls Drive, Crystal Falls, all were booked on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance after a traffic stop and arrest on Seventh Street.

According to a sheriff's report, Deputy Victor Serrano was patrolling Jamestown looking for a stolen Jeep when he saw a white car parked on the side of Seventh Street and stopped to question the driver, New, and his two passengers. New was on probation for a drug paraphernalia possession conviction. When Serrano searched New's vehicle, he found .1 gram of methamphetamine. None of the men claimed the methamphetamine, so Serrano arrested all of them.

They remained held this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail each.

Brett Morrison Spinks, 21, 11500 block of Racetrack Road, Sonora, booked at 11:11 p.m. Sunday after arrest on Springhill Drive at Snell Road, Sonora.

Sonora police reports

MONDAY

8:33 a.m., theft — A caller said vehicles parked on the 100 block of Old Wards Ferry Road were broken into and gasoline siphoned out of them.

10:11 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said a man and woman in a light blue car were throwing a baby into the air on the 600 block of Pauline Court.

10:11 a.m., trespassing — A caller said three men who looked like transients were sleeping between two stores in the Sonora Crossroads shopping center.

4:58 p.m., animal complaints — A caller on Hope Lane said she lost her dog. At 6:30 p.m., a caller on Pasadena Street found the dog.

Fires

YESTERDAY

1:45 p.m., East Sonora — A vehicle fire was reported on Highway 108 at Tuolumne Road. Damage was estimated at $1,500 to a 1967 Volvo. Larry Johnson of Sonora owns the car. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and Tuolumne County Fire Department responded.

3:30 p.m., West County — Flames destroyed a 2004 Fleetwood motor home on Highway 108 at South Shore Tulloch Road. Damage was estimated at $122,000. Jim Sulton of Big Fort, Mont., owns the vehicle. The fire also spread to a quarter-acre of grass. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department, Jamestown Fire Protection District, one crew from Baseline Conservation Camp and Oakdale Rural Fire Department responded.

5:45 p.m.., Sonora — A vehicle fire was reported on Lyons-Bald Mountain Road. Damage was estimated at $1,900 to a 1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Allan Peters of Sonora owns the car. CDF, Tuolumne County Fire Department and Sonora City Fire Department responded.

MONDAY

10:07 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 200 block of Cedar Street said gas might have been stolen from a vehicle because the gas cap was off.

11:44 a.m., San Andreas — A man was going through a purse that was left in a vehicle parked on the 100 block of West St. Charles Street.

1:19 p.m., Valley Springs — The snack shack at a ball field was burglarized at the intersection of Paloma Road and Sequoia Avenue.

4:18 p.m., Arnold — A vehicle accident turned into an argument in front of a bar on the 800 block of Highway 4.

7:29 p.m., San Andreas — A pellet gun accident between siblings was reported at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital.

8:23 p.m., Valley Springs — A caller on the 8400 block of Baldwin Street requested a deputy to patrol his house because the caller's son was breaking things.

10:08 p.m., Rail Road Flat — A caller on the 200 block of Piney Haven Lane said an air compressor and generator were stolen last month.

YESTERDAY

1:16 a.m., Valley Springs — A person was arrested for assaulting someone with a rock on the 200 block of West Sequoia Avenue.

YESTERDAY

1:45 p.m., Valley Springs — A half-acre grass fire was reported on the 8000 block of Savage Way. No damage was reported. Jim Bothwell of the same address owns the land. CDF, Foothill Fire Protection District and San Andreas Fire Protection District responded.

5:30 p.m., Arnold area — An escaped debris burn was reported on Avery Sheep Ranch Road. No damage was reported. Ebbetts Pass Fire Protection District responded.
