The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


10:21 a.m., Sonora area — A man wearing a black hooded-sweatshirt with orange writing was allegedly beating a woman and throwing rocks at her near Cabezut Road and Shannon Drive.

2:31 p.m., Sonora area — A man on the 9200 block of Highway 49 said he’s been receiving scam phone calls from Romania for the past three days. He said the caller keeps telling him he’s won $7,000.

6:47 p.m., Twain Harte — Someone saw a woman lying in the middle of the road near Middle Camp Road and Nile River Drive and a man was standing over her with his foot under her head. The two were gone when deputies arrived.

The Sonora Police reported the following:


5:58 a.m., trespassing — Two people were sleeping in the post office lobby on South Washington Street. Officers arrived and told the pair to leave the area.

2:04 p.m., school assists — Extra patrol was requested regarding a vehicle that speeds through the crosswalk on North Washington Street at Sonora High School each day about 2:05 p.m.

2:39 p.m., theft — A woman on South Washington Street said her ex-husband has written checks on her account without authorization.

7:52 p.m., fraudulent activities — A man on Dossi Way said he received a fraudulent phone call. Officers determined it was only a prank call.

11:32 p.m., warrant arrests — A 35-year-old man was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant at Courthouse Square.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


12:13 a.m., Valley Springs — A verbal and physical altercation occurred on Cedar Street, but the victim declined to have a report taken.

8:59 a.m., Valley Springs — A vehicle on Meadowood Drive was vandalized.

2:17 p.m., Wallace — Gunshots were heard near Leslie Court and Ospital Road.


7:43 a.m., West Point — A burglary occurred on Sandy Gulch Lane.

12:42 p.m., Valley Springs — A residence on Quail Oaks Road was burglarized.

7:44 p.m., Arnold — A residence on Diablo View Court was burglarized.


12:34 p.m., Campo Seco — A burglary occurred on Chili Camp Road.

8:37 p.m., Burson — Several callers on Messing and Pettinger roads reported hearing an explosion.

9:51 p.m., Valley Springs — An arrest was made following a traffic stop on the 200 block of East Highway 12.


2 a.m., West Point — Someone reported a possible burglary after hearing noises outside of West Point Lumber on Highway 26. All was quiet when deputies arrived and there was no evidence that a break-in had occurred.

2:36 p.m., San Andreas — Someone said there was a suspicious bearded man in a stocking cap walking around and knocking on doors on Beverlynn Lane.

4:50 p.m. Arnold — A report was taken for a stolen iPod music player at apartments on Longman Lane.

5:56 p.m., San Andreas — Someone said ATV riders were trespassing on a vacant lot on Foothill Court.

12:16 p.m., San Andreas — Teri Lynn Parker, 42, of the 200 block of Tom Bell Road, Murphys, was booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary and drug possession, after an arrest on the 100 block of East St. Charles Street.

2:08 p.m., Valley Springs — Tina Louise Harris, 39, of the 900 block of Saint Andrews Court, was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary, after an arrest on the 8300 block of McAtee Street.

4 p.m., Burson — Rhonda Lynne Ross, 46, of the 12100 block of Brandy Lane, was booked on suspicion of abuse to an elderly or dependent adult, after an arrest at her home.

5:02 p.m., Angels Camp — James Harold Nijirich, 59, of the 22000 block of Frogtown Road, was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, after an arrest on the 3000 block of Highway 49.

6:14 p.m., Burson — Norma Jean Ornellas, 51, of the 300 block of East Sequoia Avenue, Valley Springs, was booked on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury and child endangerment, after an arrest on the 12100 block of Brandy Lane.


12:25 p.m., San Andreas — Krista Lyn Jardine, 25, of the 100 block of Gold Strike Road, was booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary, after an arrest on the 400 block of East Saint Charles Street.


12:13 a.m., Campo Seco — Joseph Shane Redding, 48, of the 4000 block of Buckboard Lane, was booked on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs with prior convictions, after an arrest on the 4400 block of Buckboard Lane.

2:15 p.m., West Point — Kenneth William Conder, 29, of the 23400 block of Highway 26, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest on the 100 block of Bald Mountain Road.

4:50 p.m., Mountain Ranch — David Joseph Deherrera Sr., 59, of the 18300 block of Old Greek Mine Road, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest at his home.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


1:21 a.m., San Andreas — Brandon Lee Buchanan, 28, of the 8700 block of Laredo Court, Valley Springs, was arrested on Highway 12 west of Highway 49.

3:07 a.m., Burson — Robert Jacob Rupp III, 31, of the 100 block of Daphne Street, was arrested on the 2800 block of Highway 12.


9 p.m., Copperopolis — Kenneth Blair Mosley, 50, of the 3600 block of Signal Hill Trail, arrested on O’Byrnes Ferry Road south of Reed Drive.
