Sheriff's reports


11:39 a.m., Wards Ferry area — A man turned in a wallet he found on Wards Ferry Road.

1:27 p.m., Sonora Meadows — A caller said a man was burning "no trespassing" signs on Woodside Way because of a property dispute.

3 p.m., Columbia — A man on the 13000 block of Shale Rock Road said $50 in change was stolen from his house by someone who got in through a back bedroom window.

3:05 p.m., East Sonora — A caller at a bank in The Junction shopping center said a woman dressed in pink tried to pass a forged check, but left in a car when questioned by an employee.

3:13 p.m., Mono Village — Rose bushes and two wooden pots valued at $75 were stolen from Terry's Ceramics on the 19400 block of Village Drive.

3:28 p.m., Jamestown — A rock was thrown at the side of a house on the 10600 block of Quartz Alley, putting a hole in the siding.

9:07 p.m., Groveland — A Mariposa County sheriff's dispatcher took a call from someone who said a 52-year-old man was missing. He was last seen near Cherry Lake. The dispatcher called back at 9:34 p.m. after the man was found camping at San Jose Family Camp.

2:30 p.m., Sonora — Monica Heleen Woodhouse, 35, 900 block of Dogwood, Murphys, booked on a warrant charging her with making or passing worthless checks after she turned herself in at the county jail. She was cited and released.

7:23 p.m., Sonora — Stephen Ernest Proper, 18, 22200 block of Yerba Santa Drive, Sonora, booked on a warrant charging him with possessing a controlled substance after arrest on the 13600 block of Mono Way, Sonora. He remained in custody this morning in lieu of $10,000 bail.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

David Phillip Fraser III, 21, booked at 2:01 a.m. yesterday after arrest on Southgate Drive, Sonora.

Billy Douglas Cudia, 23, 20300 block of Eaton Court, Sonora, booked at 7 a.m. yesterday after arrest on the 13700 block of Mono Way, Sonora.

Dena Marie Faris, 37, no address given, Copperopolis, booked at 12:18 a.m. today after arrest on Saratoga Road, north of Banner Drive, Sonora.

James Taylor LaCroix, 45, 400 block of Greenley Road, Sonora, booked at 2:43 a.m. today after arrest on Chukar Circle, Sonora.

12:04 a.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer spoke with two people on East Lyons Street.

1:11 a.m., public intoxication — An officer checked on a possible drunken person at a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street.

7:44 a.m., reckless driving — A woman said she followed a white car down Tuolumne Road that was all over the road. The caller reported the car's female driver got out near Cassina High School on Barretta Street and walked unsteadily.

11:26 a.m., domestic violence — A woman said she saw another woman beating children. She said one of the children was thrown into a car seat in a red or maroon van at a business on the 800 block of Mono Way.

1:12 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury crash was reported on the 100 block of Fairview Lane.

3:57 p.m., fraudulent activity — A man on the 30 block of Leonard's Addition Road said he discovered someone has been using his credit card since January. The man said $30,000 has been charged to his card.

5:56 p.m., public intoxication — An unknown caller said a drunken man was in his house and would not leave.

6:18 p.m., assault — A man on the 500 block of South Washington Street called 911 and said his daughter's boyfriend and another person were fighting. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of battery.

9:21 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A window was open to a building on the 700 block of South Washington Street.

11:58 p.m., traffic accident — A woman on the 100 block of McCormick Drive said she heard a loud boom in the neighborhood and people cussing loudly. It turned out the noise was from a non-injury crash on the road.

9:03 a.m., San Andreas — A caller said jewelry was stolen from a house on the 1000 block of Old Stage Road.

10 p.m., Vallecito — A caller said credit cards were stolen after a house on the 4500 block of Golden Creek was broken into.

10:19 p.m., San Andreas — Four tires were flattened on a car parked at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital.
