TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

SUNDAY

12:14 a.m., suspicious circumstances — Someone said anonymous individuals were taking items out of storage sheds on Fairview Lane. An officer responded to the area and found there was no crime.

8:03 p.m., theft — Someone requested extra police patrol in the area of North Arbona Circle due to a recent theft. 

MONDAY

11:02 a.m., found property — A man found a syringe on his Steffen Way property. It was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center for disposal.

4:24 p.m., found property — Cash and a driver’s license were found on Mono Way.

5:02 p.m., theft — A 47-year-old-man was arrested and booked into Tuolumne County Jail on suspicion of misdemeanor petty theft for allegedly stealing a flashlight from a business on Mono Way.

5:09 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A witness reported seeing a car driving at a high rate of speed on South Forest Road and then heard a possible gunshot. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle or source of the noise.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

10:21 a.m., Chinese Camp — A pouch containing credit cards and an ID was found near Red Hills and La Grange roads. The property was booked into evidence.

10:39 a.m., Phoenix Lake — A man, who previously reported his gun stolen, located the firearm in a safe at his residence on the 15100 block of Potato Ranch Road.

12:01 p.m., Jamestown — A man went to the Sheriff’s Office to report that his former friend entered his residence on the 18400 block of Vista Drive through a window during the early morning hours Sunday.  The trespasser, who was possibly intoxicated, allegedly pinned the man down and accused him of sleeping with his ex-girlfriend. The man said he didn’t want to press charges but would like the incident documented.

12:53 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said an unknown person with a foreign accent keeps calling her residence on the 10300 block of Willow Street and just saying “help,” before a person speaking a foreign language would get on the phone. She thought it sounded suspicious.

2:02 p.m., Jamestown — A man said a rare guitar was stolen from his house on the 10100 block of Peppermint Circle.

3:15 p.m., Jamestown — A woman and her husband moved their belongings to the porch while working at a residence on the 8400 block of Old Melones Dam Road and now they’re gone. Neighbors apparently saw someone loading things into a vehicle at the residence on Sunday.

3:28 p.m., Tuolumne — Someone found people who were illegally living in a shed at a property on 18700 block of Madrone Street.

7 p.m., Columbia — A home on the 11100 block of State Street was burglarized.

8:09 p.m., Columbia — A woman said her sister was talking on the phone on the 11100 block of John Wallace Road when a man approached and accused her of stealing his cell phone. The man said he tracked his phone to that address and was refusing to leave. The woman claimed her brother-in-law had the phone because someone left it while burglarizing his home.

 CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

8:41 a.m., Murphys — Surveillance cameras caught unauthorized vehicles on a property on Highway 4.

8:52 a.m., San Andreas — A home was burglarized on Calaveritas Road.

2 p.m., West Point — Someone reported a physical fight that occurred over the weekend on Bouvard Street.

5:27 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A report was taken for a disturbance on Old Prospector Trail.

Felony bookings

MONDAY

6 p.m., Angels Camp — James Anthony Giuffra, 30, of San Andreas, was booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary and possession of stolen property in excess of $400, after an arrest on the 300 block of North Main Street.
