TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

THURSDAY

7:52 a.m., vandalism — A car was keyed and its gas cap stolen on Shaws Flat Road.

8:03 a.m., reckless driving — A newer vehicle with no plates drove fast and cut through a parking lot at South Washington Street and Restano Way. 

10:25 a.m., suspicious person — A man walked toward a park on South Washington Street “cussing at people.” Police admonished him and he left the area. 

11:39 a.m., traffic accident — A grey pickup truck and a black SUV were in an accident in front of a business on the 400 block of Mono Way. 

3:03 p.m., vandalism — A car was keyed on Oakside Drive. 

3:20 p.m., suspicious person — A man was passed out in the parking lot of a business on the 100 block of South Washington Street. Police said he had been drinking, and he was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center. 

4:12 p.m., harassment — Someone was harassed at a business on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

4:23 p.m., reckless driving — A driver crossed double-yellow lines and nearly hit someone on South Washington Street. Four minutes later, a reckless driver was reported on South Stewart Street.

4:53 p.m., threats — A woman said a man got out of a vehicle on South Washington Street and threatened to slap and hit her daughter. Police said it was road rage between both parties. 

6:32 p.m., animal complaint — A gray pit bull was at large at Sundown Lane and Morning Star Drive.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

9:02 a.m., Sonora — New hospice caregivers stole a patient’s medication on Joshua Way. 

9:27 a.m., Cedar Ridge — A report was taken for a suspicious circumstance at Belleview Elementary School on Kewin Mill Road.

9:33 a.m., Columbia area — Hydrocodone was stolen on Big Hill Road.

9:46 a.m., Jamestown — An 11-year-old student at Jamestown Elementary School allegedly gave a note to his teacher saying he was going to kill her. Law enforcement said the boy said he didn’t mean he was going to harm her but he does have anger issues. Parents said they are seeking professional help for the child.

10:48 a.m., Big Oak Flat — A person tried to pull a dead horse into a trailer on Highway 120.

12:03 p.m., Sonora area — Someone went to the emergency room for pain after allegedly being kicked in the back on the 18300 block of Wards Ferry Road.

12:58 p.m., Sonora area — A shed was broken into after its door was ripped of the hinges on Joshua Way.

3:04 p.m., East Sonora — Two men argued over a chair on the 14600 block of Mono Way. During the argument, a man was hit in the stomach with the chair, which opened an old wound and caused him to bleed.

3:30 p.m., Tuolumne — A woman said she had someone take her things to a street fair in Knights Ferry and the person never returned her truck, trailer or its contents. She later found the truck empty. The woman said the person refused to give her money from the fair. 

5:42 p.m., Sonora area — A man said his wife slapped him four times at a residence on Jamestown Road. She told deputies it was because she flashed back to a traumatic incident. She agreed to go to behavioral health.

6:05 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said two pit bulls were loose in front of her Golden Oaks Drive home.

8:11 p.m., Groveland — Someone allegedly printed checks from the bank account of a caller on Rock Canyon Way and spent more than $900. 

10:59 p.m., Groveland — Someone reported an explosion near Merrell Road. An officer also reported hearing it, but couldn’t locate the source.

11:09 p.m., Sonora — A woman on Wards Ferry Road received a strange call from a number she recognized saying her ex-husband was in an accident. The person claimed to be from the Sonora Police Department. The department made no such calls. 

 

FRIDAY

12:15 a.m., Sonora — Someone was arrested on suspicion of drug possession after a traffic stop on Barretta Street.

12:30 a.m., Jamestown — A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia at Sixth and Eighth avenues. 

1:53 a.m., Columbia — A suspicious man was stopped by deputies at Columbia Elementary School on Parrotts Ferry Road.

3 a.m., Twain Harte — A woman on East Avenue said someone got into her unlocked vehicle and took her garage door opener and house key.

6:22 a.m., Jamestown — Someone broke into a business on the 18200 block of Highway 108.

12:25 a.m., Sonora — Dean Ray Bennett, 49, of the 1800 block of Birch Street, Tuolumne, was booked on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia after an arrest at the Tuolumne County Jail on Lower Sunset Drive.

THURSDAY

9:18 p.m., Sonora — Jason Michael Bardenhever, 29, of an unknown address, was booked after an arrest on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road.

9:30 p.m., Sonora area — Michael Byron Engler, 26, of the 21700 block of Springfield Road, was booked after an arrest at his home. 

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

THURSDAY

8:02 a.m., Murphys — Someone stole alcohol at a business on the 100 block of Highway 4. 

2:36 to 7:25 p.m., Angels Camp — Numerous people at the Calaveras County Fair misdialed 911. 

5:52 p.m., San Andreas — Someone refused to leave a hotel room after their allotted time on West Saint Charles Street. 

8:31 p.m., Douglas Flat — A woman got home to find her door unlocked and her stuff gone through on Live Oak Court.

11:30 p.m., Jenny Lind — Someone was arrested after a disturbance on Shelton Road.

2 p.m., San Andreas — James Scott Reeves, 47, of the 5900 block of Thornicroft Drive, Valley Springs, was booked on suspicion of assault after an arrest at the Calaveras County Probation Office on East Saint Charles Street.

THURSDAY

9:45 p.m., Valley Springs — Lonnie Bernard Brooks, 48, of the 6600 block of Crail Way, was booked after an arrest at Highway 26 and Country View Drive.
