CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

4:33 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone reported hearing gunshots. Deputies confirmed that a man was target shooting. 

11:38 p.m., Angels Camp — A suspicious vehicle was parked at a business on the 1000 block of Highway 49.

TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

12:06 p.m., animal complaints — A grey pitbull escaped through the back window of a car at an Old Wards Ferry Road business. The dog entered the store and was held in the office until police arrived. 

1:23 p.m., controlled substance — A woman was arrested for theft and drug possession at a South Washington Street business.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

WEDNESDAY

8:22 am. Sonora area — A thin man wearing black shorts was banging on a door at Chukar Circle.

10:25 a.m., Sonora area — A caretaker put an elderly couple’s car in her name and would not return it. 

11:01 a.m., Sonora area — Someone on Highway 108 said a refrigerator and five inverters were stolen.

12:24 p.m., Twain Harte — An elderly man was walking down Cedar Pines Avenue looking for his wife. He told the deputy that he had gone to the store to get beer. 

2:40 p.m., Jamestown —  A man violated his probation clause when he walked by a woman’s house on  Seventh Street and giggled at her. 

4:17 p.m., Sonora area — A man was walking down Serrano Road, and two people knocked him out. 

5:42 p.m., Sonora area — Someone found a cellphone at a Mono Way business. They opened the cell phone and found “strange messages” regarding credit card fraud. 

Felony bookings

WEDNESDAY

1:45 p.m, Sonora — Karen Ann Wiedemeir, 52, of the 12000 block of Hemlock Drive, Auburn, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor theft after an arrest at Stewart and Mehun streets.

Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

WEDNESDAY

6:41 p.m., Sonora — Sheri Sue Pfister, 44, of the 2000 block of Alameda Drive, La Grange, was arrested on the 700 block of Mono Way. 

11:23 p.m., Sonora area — Christopher Michael Kiel, 34, of the 9000 block of Washington Street was arrested on the 13000 block of Mono Way.
