The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


2:52 a.m., Jamestown — Someone tried to break into an assisted-living home on the 18700 block of Chabroullian Lane.

6:48 a.m., Sonora area — A business on the 8700 block of Highway 49 called to report that a man on a motorcycle tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill.

8:20 a.m., Sonora area — The front license plate was stolen from a vehicle on the 20500 block of Phoenix Lake Road and two tires on it were slashed. The owner of the vehicle called back at 2:33 p.m. to report that the person responsible had brought him two new tires and returned his license plate.

8:47 a.m., Columbia — A 49-year-old man who was allegedly “extremely” intoxicated in public was arrested on the 11600 block of Columbia College Drive.

10:28 a.m., Columbia — Someone from the 23400 block of Gold Springs Drive went to the Sheriff’s Office lobby to report a theft of medication that possibly occurred in Fresno.

11:24 a.m., East Sonora — A woman on the 13700 Mono Way was allegedly harassing customers in front a store and chased one over to a nearby business.

11:43 a.m., Jamestown — A man went to his rental home on the 18500 block of Fifth Avenue North and discovered someone had torn out some of the walls and thrown them outside.

2:08 p.m., Sonora area — A woman on the 19000 block of Lambert Lake Road called to report fraudulent charges that were to her debit card. The total amount was $986 and her bank reversed the charges.

6:12 p.m., Jamestown — A passerby said they saw two men wearing ski masks in a white Pontiac near the intersection of Highway 108 and Chicken Ranch Road.

6:29 p.m., Tuolumne — Some motorcyclists said their helmets were stolen while parked at a business on the 19400 block of Tuolumne Road North.

9:15 p.m., Sonora area — Someone vandalized an irrigation ditch on the 19900 block of Phoenix Lake Road and water was being blocked. Tuolumne Utilities District was going to be notified.

Felony bookings


3:40 a.m., Sonora — John Victor Hodges, 32, of the 14500 block of Lolly Lane, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest on the 200 block of Greenley Road.

5:18 a.m., Tuolumne — Wesly Wayne Clarke, 25, of the 1300 block of Fair Oaks Court, Oakdale, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest on the 19400 block of Tuolumne Road North.

3:41 p.m., Phoenix Lake — John Eigle Bergman, 49, of the 21200 block of Phoenix Lake Road, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest at his home.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


8:09 p.m., theft — A man called to report that a woman stole groceries he had just purchased. He said the incident occurred on North Washington Street and the woman was staying at a hotel in the downtown area.
