The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


9:27 a.m., found property — A man on Terrace Avenue found a cell phone in his backyard. He believed it belonged to the person he saw running through his backyard the night before. 

2:53 p.m., hazardous situation — Someone on South Washington and Stockton streets said the traffic light was not functioning properly. 

3:35 p.m., domestic violence — Two transients on Hospital Road argued. 

5:35 p.m., disorderly conduct — Two men and one woman on Sanguinetti Road argued.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


8:35 a.m., Twain Harte — Someone on Twain Harte and Highland drives was warned about sleeping behind a business building. 

9:34 a.m., Jamestown — A man on Highway 108 and Humbug Street holding a sign asking for a ride to work was advised not to stand in the highway.

11:29 a.m., Sonora area — Someone on Rimrock Road said their neighbor was antagonizing their dog and walking through their property without permission. 

11:41 a.m., Groveland — A woman on Elder Lane said her property manager allowed workers at the apartment complex to enter her residence and take showers. 

2:54 p.m., East Sonora — A “very skinny” man on Mono Way and Hess Avenue carried a knapsack and appeared disoriented.

5:16 p.m., Sonora area — A woman on Yerba Santa Drive said her wallet, identification card and about 150 belly-button rings were stolen. 

8:36 p.m., Jamestown — Someone on Sixth Avenue said a 10-year-old boy was locked out of his house the entire day. 

8:59 p.m., Jamestown — A red laser was pointed at a man on Preston Lane and he believed it may be a laser sight from a gun. Deputies found children playing with a laser light. They were counseled and the laser given to their mother.


7:45 a.m., Columbia — Someone on Bennett and Horseshoe roads said they saw a woman sleeping on a patchwork quilt under a tree in the neighborhood. 

Felony bookings


12:28 a.m., Jamestown — Christopher John Mills, 22, transient, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor giving false identification to a peace officer after an arrest on 9th Avenue at Sierra Road. 

12:20 p.m., Columbia — Sabrina Stormy Starkweather, 19, of the 11400 block of Columbia Village Drive, was booked on suspicion of harboring drugs, child endangerment and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after an arrest at her home. 


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:33 a.m., Arnold — Family members on Meadow Drive fought. 

9:45 a.m., Valley Springs — People at a Highway 12 post office disagreed over postage owed on a package.

Noon, Valley Springs — Someone on Pardini Place said a man was asked to leave the property after he trespassed asked to borrow a bicycle.

3:56 p.m., Burson — Someone on Burson and Dana roads said people were wandering around a rental property and being “kind of noisy.”

Felony bookings


3:58 a.m., Angels Camp — Shane Roy Bennett, 42, of the 7500 block of Red Hill Road, was booked on suspicion of burglary after an arrest at his home. 

11:20 a.m., Arnold — Robert Ian Hart, 23, of the 700 block of Meadow Drive, was booked on suspicion of elder or dependent abuse and misdemeanor child cruelty after an arrest at his home. 


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


10:12 p.m., Angels Camp — Michael Joseph Kelly, 31, of the 7400 block of Red Hill Road, was booked after an arrest on Highway 49, south of Highway 4.
