The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


2:41 a.m., Jamestown — A man on the 18200 block of Main Street was sleeping in Rocca Park when a man woke him up and hit him in the face three or four times, causing a cut on his nose.

5:23 a.m., Soulsbyville — A 20-year-old man in the emergency department at Sonora Regional Medical drank too much at a party on the 20000 block of Soulsbyville Road and passed out. When he woke up, he found people had drawn all over his body with a Sharpie pen. He was then challenged to fight by an unknown person and lost the fight. Later, he found $140 and a prepaid debit card missing from his wallet. 

10:47 a.m., Cedar Ridge area — A man said a woman hit him in the head with a flashlight and came at him with a pair of scissors. She was arrested.

11 a.m., Long Barn — A log splitter, two chain saws, two mowers, four gas cans and other miscellaneous items were stolen from a barn on the 25000 block of Merrill Springs Road.

12:15 p.m., Jamestown — A person requested extra patrol at Rocca Park on Main Street because people reportedly hang out there drinking, sleeping in the bushes and causing problems all hours of the day and night.

2:04 p.m., East Sonora — A customer at a fast food restaurant on the 13700 block of Mono Way passed a $100 counterfeit bill.

5:17 p.m., East Sonora — Three women were in custody at Kohl’s on the 13700 block of Mono Way on suspicion of shoplifting. Two of them were cited for theft. 

7:19 p.m., East Sonora — Three people were smoking marijuana in a parking lot on the 13700 block of Mono Way.


11 a.m., Tuolumne — A man found a bag of marijuana in front of his property on the 18600 block of Elm Avenue.

5:42 p.m., Groveland — A woman said someone shot her windshield with a BB gun or a pellet gun while she was driving in front of Tenaya Elementary School on Highway 120.

10 p.m., Sonora — A woman said her garden gnome and solar lights were stolen from her front yard on the 16500 block of Creekside Drive.

3:21 a.m., Jamestown — Quito Thor John Schacht, 53, of the 10300 block of Preston Lane, was booked on suspicion of possessing, manufacturing or selling a dangerous weapon, after an arrest at Sierra Avenue and Ninth Street.

11:13 a.m., Sonora area — Michael Ryan James, 28, of the 19800 block of Whitto Mine Road, and Courtney Leigh Powers, 21, of the 10500 block of Petticoat Junction, Jamestown, were booked on suspicion of drug possession, after arrests at his home.

11:44 a.m., Sonora area — Delia Clare Geisler-Scott, 54, of the 21800 block of Belleview Road, was booked on suspicion of assault after an arrest at her home.

9:30 p.m., Groveland — Ronald Lynn Smith, 54, of the 14500 block of Tulloch Drive, Jamestown, was booked on suspicion of criminal threats, child endangerment and assault with a firearm, after an arrest on the 2800 block of Shady Lane.


4:03 p.m., Sonora — Tracy Pauline Cash, 31, of the 400 block of Stockton Road, was booked on suspicion of vehicle theft, after an arrest at her home.

9:33 p.m., Sonora — Noah Travis Connell, 27, of the 200 block of East Live Oak Drive, was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, after an arrest at Stockton Road and West Jackson Street.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


8:16 p.m., Sonora — Robert Leroy Sanger, 58, of the 1100 block of Shaws Flat Road, was arrested at Bradford and Washington streets.


12:37 a.m., East Sonora — Garry Dean Pederson, 53, of the 21200 block of Ridgeview Drive, was arrested at Standard Road and Mono Way.

3:25 a.m., Twain Harte — Joseph John Ortega, 37, of the 24500 block of Center Camp Road, Mi-Wuk Village, was arrested at Twain Harte and Tiffeni drives.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


5:55 p.m., controlled substances — A 32-year-old woman was allegedly seen using drugs on South Washington Street. A needle cap and some litter were left behind and she left the area heading north with two men. Officers arrested the woman.


9:08 p.m., threats — A woman said she pulled into her driveway on West Jackson Street and found three men in her yard. One of the men spit on her car and threatened to slash her tires before they all dispersed. 


The Calaveras Sheriff’s Department reported the following:


9:49 a.m., Wilseyville — A propane tank was stolen from Calaveras County Solid Waste on Blizzard Mine Road.

11:20 a.m., Copperopolis — A dog was stolen from Bow Drive.

11:30 a.m., Arnold — A customer was fighting with the owner at Ace Hardware on Blagen Road.

8:16 p.m., Arnold — A report was taken for defrauding an innkeeper at Timberline Lodge on Highway 4.

10:43 p.m., Arnold — A neighbor on Anna Lee Way, upset over a porch light being left on, started shining a spotlight into the offending residence and turned on loud motors.


3:41 p.m., Copperopolis — A boat was vandalized at a business on O’Byrnes Ferry Road.

12:50 p.m., Copperopolis — Gianni Peter Passakos, 40, of the 500 block of Cartagena Lane, San Ramon, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, after an arrest on O’Byrnes Ferry Road.

2:20 p.m., San Andreas — Paul Lawrence Eastridge, 43, of the 4600 block of Railroad Flat Road, Mountain Ranch, was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sales, after an arrest at the Calaveras County Probation Department.

2:46 p.m., Avery — Terri Ann Finney, 48, of the 300 block of Gray Mare Road, was booked on suspicion of grand theft, after an arrest on the 400 block of Gray Mare Road.

12:37 a.m., San Andreas — Mandie Rochelle Garcia, 36, of the 700 block of Mark Twain Road, Angels Camp, was arrested on Highway 49 south of San Domingo Creek.
