TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

6:51 a.m., Tuolumne — Homeless people were reportedly camping, building fires and leaving trash near the train tressel on the Tuolumne Utilities District ditch at Eden Lane and Garden Court. 

9:05 a.m., East Sonora — A man working on a roof on Cuesta Court saw a man in a red and white Ford Courier with a large camper pull into the yard and steal metal from a yard used by a subcontractor for PG&E.

10:44 a.m., Tuolumne — A woman on the 17900 block of Garden Court reported her turquoise jewelry was stolen.

11:12 a.m., west county — Two children hit a camper’s vehicle and tent with a BB gun at the South Shore Lake Tulloch Campground on Tulloch Dam Road. They admitted they had tried to shoot deer with the gun. Their parents agreed to pay for the damage.

1:58 p.m., Jamestown — Someone was shooting off fireworks in the grass on the 10200 block of Preston Lane.

6:01 p.m., East Sonora — A woman on the 18300 block of Wards Ferry Road said someone out of the country tried to charge $176.55 to her ATM card, but her bank put a fraud hold on the account.

6:49 p.m., Strawberry — Juveniles were staying at a cabin on the 27000 block of Summerhill Drive without permission, and at least one was a runaway.

9:31 p.m., Jamestown — A vehicle drove by and shot a paintball at a residence on the 19300 block of Rawhide Road.

11:13 p.m., Tuolumne — A juvenile employee at a business on the 19300 block of North Tuolumne Road was assaulted by a guest, and the employee’s parents wanted to press charges.

SATURDAY

4:12 a.m., Crystal Falls — Three men got into a taxi on Shepherd Street in Sonora. The taxi stopped near a residence on the 21800 block of Russian River Drive and the three occupants got out and ran toward a residence without paying.

4:42 a.m., Strawberry — A man in the emergency department at Sonora Regional Medical Center said he was assaulted somewhere in Strawberry about two hours prior.

2:13 p.m., Groveland area — A bicycle was stolen from a carport at Pine Mountain Drive and Cassaretto Court.

9:43 p.m., Groveland — Someone said people were setting off fireworks on the 20200 block of Pine Mountain Drive.

10:52 p.m., Groveland — A woman on the 12900 block of Jackson Mill Road said someone poured beer on her vehicle.

SUNDAY

12:22 p.m., Jamestown — A man was seen allegedly selling drugs to juveniles at Rocca Park. 

3:44 p.m., Jamestown — A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on the 14400 block of Highway 108.

7:33 p.m., Jamestown — A woman said someone stole her purse from her car on the 14400 block of Highway 108 either late the night before or early that morning.

9:30 p.m., Columbia — A man said his house was burglarized on the 12600 block of Covington Road.

2:20 p.m., Jamestown — Johnny Leslie Duckett, 57, of the 16800 block of Jacksonville Road, was booked on suspicion of drug possession for sales, after an arrest on the 17200 block of Margaret Drive.

SATURDAY

12:08 a.m., Willow Springs — Adam Rafael Jimenez, 24, of the 16600 block of Allison Way, was booked on suspicion of altering the serial number of a firearm, after an arrest on 20500 block of Willow Springs Drive.

11:24 p.m., Columbia — Jessica Marie Foreman, 23, and Dawn Marie Dunsmore, 20, both of the 12600 block of Big Hill Road, were booked on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, after an arrest on the 21700 block of Parrotts Ferry Road. Foreman was also booked on suspicion of drug possession.

FRIDAY

8:35 p.m., Sonora — Vasily Gladush, 30, of the 300 block of East Watters Road, French Camp, was arrested at Highway 108 and Mono Way.

9:36 p.m., Lake Tulloch — Vernon Knute Vierra, 53, of the 100 block of North Third Street, Oakdale, was booked on suspicion of using a watercraft while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, after an arrest at the south shore of the lake.

10:41 p.m., Lake Tulloch area — Vernon Ralph Gragg, 29, unknown address, was arrested on Highway 120 east of Tulloch Road.

SATURDAY

12:50 a.m., Jamestown — Jerry Doyle Gass, 61, of the 900 block of West Los Felis Avenue, Stockton, was arrested on Highway 108 west of Montezuma Junction.

9 p.m., East Sonora — Jimmy Robert Carter, 72, of the 9100 block of Rimrock Road, was arrested on Highway 108 west of Peaceful Oaks Road.

SUNDAY

12:34 a.m., Phoenix Lake area — Curtis Gail Gallop, 67, of the 20700 block of Lower Hill View Drive, was arrested at Meadow Brook Drive and Phoenix Lake Road.

11:05 p.m., Twain Harte area — Mitchell Sherrell Davis, 58, unknown address, was arrested on Highway 108 east of East Avenue.

11:11 p.m., Sonora — Jonathan Ross Newkirk, 26, of the 100 block of Linoberg Street, was arrested on the 800 block of Greenley Road.

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

10:29 a.m., theft — A wedding ring was reported stolen from a motel room on Stockton Road.

5:01 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury accident occurred on South Washington Street.

SATURDAY

3:30 p.m., theft — Stainless steel equipment was taken from a business on Mono Way during the early morning hours.

SUNDAY

5:54 p.m., miscellaneous codes — Someone claimed a man and some children were setting off firecrackers on East Bald Mountain Road. 

CALAVERAS COUNTY

FRIDAY

12:52 p.m., Copperopolis — A resident of Arrowhead Street returned home to find boxes moved around inside the residence.

5:14 p.m., Arnold — A dog was left in a parked car at the Meadowmont shopping center parking lot for a half-hour with the windows up.

9:02 p.m., Copperopolis — A purse and tools were stolen from a tenant on Bow Drive.

9:20 a.m., Hathaway Pines — An arrest was made after deputies responded to a disturbance on Cedar Drive.

9:56 p.m., Copperopolis — Cal Fire responded to reports of aerial fireworks in the area of Sanguinetti Court.

9:57 p.m., Valley Springs — Fireworks were reported in the area of Baldwin Street and Paolini Drive.

11:04 p.m., Copperopolis — Juveniles were shooting off aerial fireworks at Copperopolis Elementary School.

SATURDAY

11:54 a.m., Valley Springs — Someone was having a yard sale on a property they had supposedly been evicted from.

3:30 p.m., Copperopolis — A man who was possibly drunk or on drugs was walking toward a cul-de-sac on Cheyenne Road. He was talking, making gestures and walking into people’s yards and then back out on the street.

4:39 p.m., Arnold — A man was yelling at a woman and throwing items from a backpack at her at Fir Street and Dunbar Road.

10:50 p.m., Jenny Lind — Someone was shooting off fireworks at a vacant residence at Gabor Street and Jenny Lind Road.

SUNDAY

3:03 a.m., Murphys — People were possibly shooting at mailboxes with pellet or airsoft guns on Heather Drive.

10:59 a.m., Rail Road Flat — A residence was burglarized on Prussian Hill Road.

11:20 a.m., Arnold — A business was burglarized on Linebaugh Road.

3:22 p.m., Burson — The restrooms were vandalized at the Moccasin Campground on Wade Lane.

5:29 p.m., Arnold — A man was stealing wood at Blagen Road and Highway 4.

7:16 p.m., Murphys — A report was taken for battery on Possum Trail.

11:50 p.m., Valley Springs — A battery report was taken on Garner Place.

FRIDAY

12:55 p.m., San Andreas — George Alexander Jones, 20, of the 3800 block of Highway 49, was booked on suspicion of contacting a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd or lascivious behavior, after an arrest at his home.

Fire calls

SUNDAY

11:42 a.m., Arnold — Fire crews were called out to a small fire on the 2000 block of El Dorado Drive. A small spot of woodland vegetation was burned. It took firefighters less than 20 minutes to extinguish the blaze and no one was injured. The cause of the fire is still undetermined.
