TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

8:03 a.m., burglary — A vehicle break-in was reported overnight on South Barretta Street.

12:40 p.m., property damage — A man with a metal detector was digging holes in the ground at Rotary Park on Woods Creek Drive.

12:57 p.m., vehicle theft — A car was stolen overnight on North Stewart Street

2:13 p.m., assault — A fight was reported between patients at a Ponderosa Drive convalescent home.

SATURDAY

10:55 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A suspicious package was attached to a light pole and wrapped in red at a medical care facility on Fairview Lane. The Calaveras bomb squad was called in and determined the box was empty.

8:12 p.m., vandalism — A man visiting a patient at Sonora Regional Medical Center punched holes in the wall of a room.

9:34 p.m., burglary — An apartment was broken into and ransacked at a Columbia Way apartment complex.

SUNDAY

11:23 a.m., found property — A man’s wallet was found at Courthouse Square on North Washington Street. An officer attempted to return the wallet to the owner’s residence but left a business card because no one was home.

1:47 p.m., burglary — An apartment on Greenley Road was burglarized.

2:55 p.m., found property — Some ID cards were found on Hospital Road.

3:39 p.m., burglary — A woman said her residence on Shaws Flat Road was burglarized.

6:23 p.m., assault — A man receiving medical treatment at Sonora Regional Medical Center on Greenley Road said he was assaulted on train tracks near a silo.

8:46 p.m., burglary — The manager at a business on Summit Avenue said someone stole laundry from a washer and dryer in the laundry room.

9:19 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A wheelchair was left on the side of Greenley Road. An officer checked the area and there was no one around it nor any markings on the chair.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

7:37 a.m., Sonora area — Someone ripped the gas cap off a vehicle in an attempt to steal gas at a church parking lot on Mono Way.

7:58 a.m., Sonora area — A woman on Sparrow Lane said someone broke the window on her pickup truck, stole a GPS unit and rifled through the console.

8:45 a.m., Sonora area — A burglary was reported on Caleb Court, with a resident stating a man was seen carrying a Christmas gift bag of items before leaving the area in a white sport utility vehicle with flames on the side. The resident reported multiple electronic devices missing and the front door broken.

10:21 a.m., Sonora area — Someone in a ski mask stole a 55-gallon drum full of catalytic converters from a Mono Way business earlier in the day.

1:09 a.m., Sonora area — A grass fire was reported on Yosemite Road.

2:05 p.m., Jamestown — A car was reported stolen at a Wigwam Road mobile home park.

3:07 p.m., Sonora — An abandoned red vehicle was reported on the railroad tracks near Tuolumne Road and Mono Way.

4:58 p.m., Groveland — A Pleasant View Drive resident reported a possible break-in, with a lock box in his home opened and a key missing as well as two televisions missing.

5:10 p.m., La Grange — A cabin in Arbolada Drive was burglarized. Reported missing were electronic items and a 9mm pistol.

SATURDAY

4:32 a.m., Columbia — Police responded to a fight on Valley Quail Road between two people, with one hitting another in the back of the head with a flashlight.

6:10 a.m., Jamestown — A woman on Golf Links Road said $120 in cash was stolen from her kitchen while she was napping and said it was likely one or two young males seen near her house.

12:42 p.m., Groveland — A man said his grandson was bitten by a dog on Hells Hollow Road.

4:21 p.m., Twain Harte — A woman called police to report someone took her garbage out of her garbage cans on Tuolumne Dive, filled them with different garbage and put them on the curb for pickup.

7:52 p.m., Jamestown — A fight was reported in a Wigwam Road mobile home park.

9:41 p.m., Long Barn — A fight at a Highway 108 mobile home park left on victim bleeding from the head.

SUNDAY

10:31 a.m., Sonora area — A man on North Bear Clover Court received a message regarding his Wells Fargo account and called the number back and gave some personal information only to find out later that it was a scam.

11:35 a.m., Groveland — A lock was cut on a large metal storage container on Harper Road, and a small glass globe was stolen from an unlocked RV trailer on the same property.

12:02 p.m., East Sonora — A man was cited and released on suspicion of petty theft for allegedly attempting to steal cologne from a business on Mono Way.

1:17 p.m., Tuolumne — Two chain saws were stolen off a flatbed truck while it was parked Thursday night at a business on Tuolumne Road North.

2:21 p.m., Jamestown — All the windows were broken at a residence on Ninth Avenue, and items were missing from inside. The person reporting the incident believed it may have been caused by the previous tenants.

2:22 p.m., Tuolumne — Someone said a man kept peering in the front window of an apartment on Tuolumne Road. No bushes or walls were in front of the window, so the caller was advised to shut the blinds and report further incidents to the Sheriff’s Office.

2:23 p.m., Sonora area — Someone on Barbara Road said a neighbor cut down three mailboxes and moved them to a different street corner. One of the neighbors was questioned and said her husband had permission from the Sonora Post Office to move the boxes.

3:17 p.m., East Sonora — A non-injury auto accident occurred at Mono Way and Tuolumne Road. The eastbound lanes were blocked and one of the vehicles was leaking fuel. Sheriff’s deputies performed traffic control until California Highway Patrol officers arrived on scene.

6:15 p.m., Sonora — A cab driver found a customer’s wallet in his cab and handed it over the Sheriff’s Office on Lower Sunset Drive in Sonora.

8:44 p.m., Sonora area — A vehicle was burglarized on New Year’s while parked on Serrano Road.

10:25 a.m., Sonora — Zackery Teal Moore, 19, of the 19700 block of Serrano Road, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of burglary after an arrest at his residence.

SATURDAY

2:07 a.m., Jamestown — Ronnie Dean Rose, 59, of the 1700 block of Idalou Avenue, Modesto, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after an arrest at a Highway 108 car wash.

3:25 a.m. Sonora — Lorraine Marie Giddings, 37, of the 15200 block of Cavalieri Road, was booked on suspicion of possession of a narcotic after an arrest on the 14300 block of Cuesta Court.

6:02 a.m., Sonora — Adam William Martin Gee, 26, of the 22300 block of Haughton Circle, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and probation violation after an arrest at 22808 Shrons Drive.

SUNDAY

1:20 p.m., West County — Darren Lester Mosley, 41, of the 1900 block of Hackett Road, Ceres, and Daniel Marvin Woodral, 40, of the 3100 block of Blaker Road, Ceres, were each booked on suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and drug possession, after both were arrested on Highway 120 near Keystone Ranch.

5:30 p.m., Jamestown — Kristopher James Randi, 23, of the 18700 block of Highway 108, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, after an arrest at Jamestown Road and Highway 108.

8:21 p.m., East Sonora — Laura Ann Varn, 42, of Arnold, address unknown, was booked on suspicion of burglary, after an arrest at a business on the 13700 block of Mono Way.

9:51 p.m., Sonora — Fredrick Ryan Herbert, 65, of Airport Road, Sonora, was booked after an arrest at Horseshoe Bend Road and Shaws Flat Road.

SATURDAY

12:45 a.m., Jamestown — Kirsten Elaine Evans, 22, of the 18200 block of Highway 108, Jamestown, was booked after an arrest at Highway 49 and Rawhide Road.

6:27 p.m., Sonora — Johnny Edward Eastman, 28, of the 700 block of East Oakside Drive, Sonora, was booked after an arrest at the Timber HIlls Shopping Center

10:40 p.m., Sonora — Starley Ray Bunch, 24, of the 22700 block of Twain Harte, was booked after an arrest at 100 S. Green St.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

7:35 a.m., San Andreas — A man was yelling in the lobby of Mark Twain Medical Center on Mountain Ranch Road.

8:36 a.m., Valley Springs — Someone said mail was stolen on Da Lee Road.

8:11 p.m., San Andreas — Loud voices and gunshots were heard near East St. Charles Street.

8:58 p.m., Arnold — A man got into an altercation with an aggressive dog on Gold Hill Circle.

SATURDAY

12:09 a.m., San Andreas — A man was causing a disturbance in the Mark Twain Medical Center emergency room.

4:51 a.m., Copperopolis — A family altercation was reported on Salmon Road.

7:05 a.m., West Point — Police responded to a report of domestic abuse.

10:02 a.m., Copperopolis — A theft was reported on Chuckwagon Drive.

3:18 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Someone reported shooting and booming noises near Lombardi Drive and McKeany Court.

9:10 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone reported racing and a noise complaint at Treosti Place and Bergsma Lane.

SUNDAY

2:36 a.m., San Andreas — An out-of-control woman was reported on Pope Street. The same woman was reported to be out of control again at 3:21 a.m.

8:29 a.m., Arnold — A theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred on Wood Chip Circle.

12:51 p.m., Burson — Items were taken from an unlocked shed on Foothill Lane sometime in the past three weeks.

2:07 p.m., Arnold — A theft occurred on Pine Drive.

2:11 p.m., Campo Seco — People were shooting on Bureau of Land Management property on Arkansas Ferry Road.

MONDAY

6:58 a.m., San Andreas — A wallet was stolen on Edna Drive.

8 a.m., Arnold — Someone stole change from an unlocked vehicle on Fifth Green Drive.

8:13 a.m., West Point — Andre Marquis Major, 31, of the 1500 block of Lilly Valley Circle, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest at his home.

SUNDAY

12:19 p.m., West Point — Robert Charles Carll, 39, of the 1000 block of Winton Road, was booked on suspicion of second-degree burglary, after an arrest on the 500 block of Barney Way.

9:45 p.m., San Andreas — Ronald Lee Vanderwoude Jr., 35, of the 100 block of Monte Vista Court, was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, after an arrest at his home.

7:58 p.m., Mokelumne Hill — Dorothy Jean Mechling, 63, of the 1500 block of Independence Road, was arrested at Ridge and Railroad Flat roads.

12:30 a.m., San Andreas — Tanner Barton Radford, 23, of the 24500 block of Defender Grade Road, Pioneer, was arrested at Highway 49 and Gold Oak Road.
