The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


6:53 a.m., found property — Someone found a large gold purse in a courtyard area on North Washington Street. A police officer determined there were no items to identify the owner, and its contents were valued at less than $50 total, so it was thrown away.

4:18 p.m., lost property — A woman lost her wallet somewhere between Grocery Outlet on South Washington Street and Wards Ferry Road.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


10:24 a.m., Sonora area — A man on Oakhaven Lane reported an attempt at a common phone scam in which the caller claimed to be from the Publishers Clearing House and asked the man to send money in order to receive his winnings.

11:22 a.m., Twain Harte — Sierra Pacific Industries was informed that four male teens were seen trespassing and building bicycle jumps on the company’s property at Middle Camp-Sugarpine and Confidence-South Fork roads.

11:53 a.m., Long Barn — A man at a mobile home park on Highway 108 said his residence was broken into while he was in jail, and multiple items were stolen.

2:54 p.m., Tuolumne — A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at Bay Avenue and Main Street.

3:04 p.m., La Grange — A man said about $1,500 in fishing equipment was stolen from his pontoon boat that’s kept on Don Pedro Reservoir.

7:44 p.m., Groveland — Someone vandalized an electronic speed sign at Pine Mountain and Tannahill drives.


7:31 a.m., Soulsbyville — A woman on Upper Starr King Drive woke up and found her garage door open. Her vehicle’s trunk was opened and a tub of paperwork and tools were missing from it.

7:37 a.m., Sonora area — An unknown suspect ripped off a gas cap from a gold Chrysler van at a church on Mono Way in an attempt to steal gas.

7:43 a.m., Sonora area — A man on Cabezut Road said his mailbox was broken into and he believed mail was missing.

Felony bookings


1:44 a.m., Jamestown — Alexandria Niela Caulfield, 32, of the 1500 block of Hazel Court, Lincoln, was booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property, drug possession and having alcohol or drugs into jail, after an arrest on the 18300 block of Highway 108.

1:50 a.m., Jamestown — Charles James Sedlemyer, 43, of the 11900 block of Fresh Air Lane, Auburn, was booked on suspicion of possession of stolen property, after an arrest on the 18300 block of Highway 108.

8:43 a.m., Sonora area — Robert Donnell Haire IV, 56, of the 12800 block of Covey Circle, was booked on suspicion of assault, torture, violating a restraining order, making criminal threats and stalking, after an arrest on the 12800 block of Covey Circle.

10:43 a.m., Sonora area — Nashe Tyler Dake, 22, no permanent address, was booked on suspicion of burglary, after an arrest on Susan Way.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9:39 a.m., Jenny Lind — A family home on Ospital Road was burglarized.

2:57 p.m., Copperopolis — A boat on Arrowhead Street was burglarized.

4:25 p.m., Avery — Someone dumped a large load of trash outside the transfer station gates at Calaveras County Solid Waste on Seagale Road.

4:32 p.m., Angels Camp — A drunk person was seen staggering down Finnegan Lane toward Main Street.

10:45 p.m., Valley Springs — Two loud gunshots were heard somewhere behind a residence on Blake Lane.

11:31 p.m., Angels Camp — A suspicious vehicle was parked at Mark Twain Road and Bush Street.


12:22 a.m., Arnold — Someone’s grandson heard a prowler outside walking around on Ponderosa Way.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


7:30 p.m., Angels Camp — Steven Anthony Roque, 48, of the 600 block of Hillside Court, was arrested on the 500 block of South Main Street.
