The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


7:32 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man was in the bathroom at a business on South Washington Street for about 30 minutes and refusing to get out. He left before an officer arrived.

8:39 a.m., found property — A bicycle left at a business on South Shepherd Street for nearly a week was taken by officers for safekeeping.

9:05 a.m., animal complaints — An officer advised a man to clean up after his dog outside a business on South Washington Street, and the man complied.

10:31 a.m., warrant arrest — A 70-year-old woman with two misdemeanor warrants for suspicion of forgery and providing false information to the Department of Motor Vehicles was arrested at a business on Mono Way and booked into Tuolumne County Jail.

1:54 p.m., arrests — A 21-year-old man was booked into jail on suspicion of misdemeanor assault and violating a restraining order, after an arrest at Sonora Regional Medical Center on Greenley Road.

2:13 p.m., found property — A purse was found on Highway 108.

2:19 p.m., public intoxication — A 24-year-old man was booked into jail on suspicion of public intoxication, after he was found unconscious on the side of Hospital Road, across the street from his residence.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


9 a.m., Sonora area — A couple of vehicles had fuel stolen overnight at a business on Industrial Drive.

3:08 p.m., Sonora area — A man’s cell phone was reported stolen at a business on Tuolumne Road North.

4:17 p.m., Groveland — A woman’s purse containing her wallet, driver’s license, credit cards, a small amount of cash and red cell phone was stolen from her shopping cart while she was at a business on Main Street.

4:20 p.m., Jamestown — A man from Cincinnati, Ohio, said he was scammed by someone who called from a Tuolumne County phone number.

6:43 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A door was damaged at a residence on Kiku Lane, though nothing inside appeared to be missing.

8:14 p.m., Columbia — A man was seen unconscious on the grass at the entrance to a park on Columbia Village Drive with an empty bottle in his hand.

Felony bookings


1:12 a.m., Jamestown — Manuel Alexander, 51, of the 10200 block of Preston Lane, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest at his home.


The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:


8:23 a.m., Milton — Garbage was scattered in some trees at Hunt and Milton roads.

8:33 a.m., West Point — A brick was thrown through a window at Highway 26 and Main Street.

10:03 a.m., West Point — A meter box was broken at the West Point Substation on Cemetery Lane.

10:44 a.m., Valley Springs — A rental home’s door was vandalized on Botfuher Road.

12:33 p.m., San Andreas — A caller contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report the theft of a horse on Mountain Ranch Road.

3:44 p.m., Mountain Ranch — A residence was burglarized on Ponderosa Way.

7:14 p.m., Avery — A theft occurred at a mobile home park on Highway 4.

10:06 p.m., San Andreas — Someone reported a thin man wearing a ski mask and walking on Pope Street toward the government center. The man was actually wearing a beanie and scarf and just out for a walk.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:


12:44 a.m., San Andreas — Robert Peter Grijalva, 20, of the 300 block of Russells Road, was arrested at Pope and California streets.

10 p.m., Valley Springs — Bryan Joseph Leonard, 21, of the 8800 block of Honda Lane, was arrested at Sparrowk Road and McAtee Street.
