TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

MONDAY

4:31 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman was lying in the middle of the road on South Washington Street and yelling at a vehicle to run her over. An officer responded and determined it was part of an argument between some people. They all left the area.

5:15 p.m., animal complaints — A man was walking his dog on Truckenmiller Road when he and his dog were attacked by a large black pit bull. The pit bull came from a red pickup truck with two men inside. An officer contacted the alleged victim and pit bull owner, who was cited for not having the dog on a leash. The pit bull was transported to Tuolumne County Animal Control for quarantine.

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

1:14 p.m., Tuolumne — Between eight and 10 juveniles were either fighting or “play” fighting at a park at Bay Avenue and Pine Street. All had left the area when a deputy arrived on scene.

1:41 p.m., Jamestown — Someone near Seco and Tenth streets was playing a car stereo so loud that it was shaking the caller’s windows.

2:08 p.m., Jamestown — A woman found a bike and some trash in a ditch at the end of her driveway on Golf LInks Road. The bike was collected by a sheriff’s deputy as found property.

2:31 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said that she suspects another woman scratched her car with a set of keys on Kelly Loop between 1 and 6 a.m.

2:45 p.m., Sonora area — A dog named Jack was reported missing in the area of Mountain Springs Golf Course on Lime Kiln Road.

3:18 p.m., Twain Harte — A residence on Quail Drive was burglarized.

3:31 p.m., Tuolumne — A bag containing a white substance was found near the front entrance of a business on Tuolumne Road North. A possible description of the suspect who dropped it was provided as well. The substance was tested and turned out to be denture glue.

4:36 p.m., Tuolumne — Security guards at a business on Tuolumne Road North responded to a hotel room due to a strong smell of marijuana. The guards found marijuana and packets of pills but no one in the room. Sheriff’s deputies responded and determined the tenants all had medical issues and medical marijuana recommendations from doctors.

5:40 p.m., Sonora area — A group of juveniles spray painted the kiln at a warehouse on Lime Kiln Road. Someone had a license plate number for the suspects’ vehicle.

6:56 p.m., Mi-Wuk Village — A woman on Lama Road received an email from someone requesting that she update her Microsoft Office account. About $1,600 was stolen from her bank account the last time the same scam happened to her in September. She contacted her bank and notified Microsoft, who said they had received complaints about the scam for the past week.

9:18 p.m., Sonora area — A man allegedly threw a fan at another man at the residence they share on Sparrow Lane. A sheriff’s deputy made contact with the men and determined it was only a verbal altercation and no crime had occurred.

MONDAY

1:50 p.m., Sonora — Merci Ann Guzman, 40, of the 19600 block of Tuolumne Road, Tuolumne, and Brian Keith Knight, 37, of the 22800 block of Four Wheel Drive, Columbia, were booked on suspicion of drug possession, after arrests at Columbia Way and Highway 49.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

MONDAY

9:05 a.m., Wallace — A burglary occurred on Quartz Drive.

1:59 p.m., San Andreas — Someone was caught attempting to steal a soda at a business on East Saint Charles Street.

2:41 p.m., Jenny Lind — A report of an altercation on Main Street turned out to be people just trying to install a propane tank.

3:41 p.m., Valley Springs — A trash can was damaged on Quail Oaks Road. It was replaced by the person who caused the damage.

4:15 p.m., San Andreas — A man seen walking around with a rifle on Pool Station Road was possibly hunting.

FRIDAY

9:36 a.m., Murphys — Jolene Marie Humes, 37, of the 3300 block of Muriettas Roost, Camp Connell, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, drug possession with intent to sell and transporting drugs, after an arrest on the 1200 block of Highway 4.

MONDAY

11:40 a.m., Copperopolis — Troy Bryan Mcwhirt, 49, of the 100 block of Rock Creek Road, was booked on suspicion of first-degree burglary, after an arrest on the 900 block of Quail Hill Road.

4:31 p.m., Angels Camp — Steven Anthony Roque, 48, of the 600 block of Hillside Court, was booked on suspicion assault and false imprisonment, after an arrest at his home.

Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

SUNDAY

1:20 a.m., Valley Springs — Fabian Anthony Faro, 27, of the 1500 block of Sonny Way, Hollister, was arrested on Highway 26 west of Paloma Road.

MONDAY

10:35 p.m., Valley Springs — Shelly Marie Strickland, 29, of the 12800 block of El Dorado Way, Jackson, was arrested at Highway 12 and Pine Street.
