The Sonora Police Department reported the following:


10:40 a.m., school assist — An elementary school student was transported home by police and the principal.

10:19 p.m., harassment — A man on North Stewart Street said that a woman was sending him harassing texts.

The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


8:24 a.m., Sonora area — A woman on Crystal Lake Drive said that her car was shot at and there was a hole in the driver’s-side door.

10:24 a.m., Mi-Wuk Village— A woman was standing in the roadway at Highway 108 and Chief Fuller Drive. She was later taken to the hospital for medical treatment. 

11:13 a.m. Sonora area — A man on Crystal Falls Drive said that his car was egged and damaged. 

12:10 p.m., East Sonora — A woman on Hillsdale Drive said she received calls from people saying that her computer has a virus. She does not have a computer, so she knew she was being set up for a scam.

1:06 p.m., East Sonora— A woman said she was called by scammers claiming to be the electric company. They told her that her bill was not paid. 

3:27 p.m., Tuolumne — A man on Apple Colony Road was contacted by someone who told him his wife had a felony warrant for her arrest in Minnesota. He told the caller that they had never been to Minnesota and suspects identity theft. 

4:09 p.m., Jamestown — A man believed that a woman had stole money off his Players Club card, and was chasing her down Chicken Ranch Road.

7:23 p.m., Sonora area — A woman said that there was a black Angus cow in her front yard. 

Felony bookings


7:36 a.m., Twain Harte — Mark James Hyder, 21, of the 19000 block of Highlander Drive, was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest and misdemeanor disorderly after an arrest at his home.

4:45 p.m., Sonora — Rocco Angelo Costanza, 43, of the 400 block of Southgate Drive, was booked on suspicion of assault, after an arrest on Barretta and Lytton streets.

7:26 p.m., Sonora area — Lynette Marie Hard, 26, of the 20000 block of Willow Springs Drive, Soulsbyville, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and misdemeanor shoplifting after an arrest on the 13000 block of Mono Way.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

10:30 Soulsbyville — Colleen Mary Gerwig, 59, of the 21000 block of Crystal Falls Drive, was booked after an arrest on Highway 108 and Soulsbyville Road. 


The Sheriff's Office reported the following:


5:22 p.m., West Point — Someone said that medications were stolen from a home on Stanley Road.

7:48 p.m., Arnold — Someone said that “something is going to happen today” to an elderly woman at a business on the 2000 block of Highway 4. The woman thought that it was a threat.


Cited on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs:

4:40 p.m., Angels Camp — Joshua C. Bird, 38, of the 2000 block of Northeast 23rd Street, Gresham, Ore., was booked after an arrest on Main Street and Finnegan Lane. 

7:23 p.m., Angels Camp — Michael Anthony Cuomo, 64, of the 200 block of Monte Verde Street, was booked after an arrest at North Main Street and Highway 49.

11:15 a.m., San Andreas —Katherine Elizabeth Sherman, 34, of the 1000 block of Oakwood Avenue, Rialto, was booked on suspicion of drug possession after an arrest on Mountain Ranch Road. 

12:25 p.m., San Andreas — Joseph Otis Boehm, 40, of the 7000 block of Troon Court, Gilroy, was booked on suspicion of drug possession after an arrest on Mountain Ranch Road.

2:50 p.m., Valley Springs — James Donald Aldrich, 45, of an unknown address, was booked on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender and misdemeanor providing false identification to law enforcement.
