Sheriff's report


10:55 a.m., Standard area — A caller said two people were stealing propane from a tank on the 19700 block of Highway 108.

11:50 a.m., Jamestown — Two chainsaws were reported stolen from a pickup parked on the 19700 block of Rawhide Road.

12:19 p.m., Sonora area — A caller said a man threatened to harm a Mountain Women's Resource Center employee if the employee did not give out information on his wife.

5:35 p.m., Jamestown — A caller said a 42-year-old man threatened people with a pistol on Main Street.

6:02 p.m., Tuolumne — A Black Oak Casino security officer detained a woman who tried to pass a counterfeit $20 bill.

7:16 p.m., Chinese Camp — A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor battery at his house.

7:34 p.m., Twain Harte — A man was cited for being drunk in public after he was found lying in the snow on Twain Harte Drive.

8:11 p.m., Apple Valley — A caller on the 21000 block of Oneto Drive said someone rang his doorbell, but no one was there. The caller was worried the house might be a target for a burglary.


1:24 p.m., La Grange — A caller said a neighbor is shooting a gun too close to the caller's house on Arbolada Drive.

3:46 p.m., Belleview Acres — A caller on the 21700 block of Robin Hill said a man is trespassing on the property.

7:16 p.m., Campo Seco Road — A caller said people driving all-terrain vehicles damaged a neighbor's yard on the 12000 block of Campo Seco Road.


Cited on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

Lester Wade Lowe, 53, 10000 block of Horseshoe Bend Road, Sonora, booked at 9:44 p.m. Tuesday after arrest on Stewart and Theall streets, Sonora.

Lisa Ann McCombs, 28, 4100 block of Dale Road, Modesto, booked at 10:25 p.m. Wednesday after arrest on Highway 120 at Green Springs Road.

Sonora police calls


2:02 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A caller said men and women were drinking alcohol and smoking illegal substances near Woods Creek Rotary Park off Stockton Road.

2:06 p.m., traffic accident — The drivers involved in a minor collision on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road exchanged information.

3:15 p.m., vandalism — A callerr from 200 block of Hospital Road said a woman broke her mail box and a yard ornament.

4:29 p.m., traffic accident — A caller said a three-car, non-injury collision occurred on the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road.

7:24 p.m., theft — A 46-year-old woman and a 13-year-old child were in custody on suspicion of shoplifting at Pak 'n' Save, on the 1200 block of Sanguinetti Road.

11:47 p.m., traffic accident — A non-injury hit and run crash was reported on Yaney Avenue.


12:05 a.m., theft — A clerk at ther Sonora Express Mart, on the 100 block of Pesce Way, said he had a caught a boy stealing from the store.

12:28 a.m., warrant arrest — A 22-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant on the 100 block of Pesce Way.

11:25 a.m., theft — A man at the Gold Fever jewelry store on the 100 block of Stockton Road reported the theft of a diamond from the store.

1:28 p.m., traffic accident — An anonymous caller on the 300 block of North Washington Street said the road was blocked by vehicles that collided.

5:02 p.m., theft — Wal-Mart reported that a shoplifter had fled the store. He gave the police dispatcher a description and partial license plate of the getaway car.


4:47 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A strong odor of propane was detected near the bus yard at Sonora High School, on the 600 block of Shaws Flat Road.

5:22 a.m., hazardous situation — Ice was developing on the 600 block of South Washington Street from water leaking nearby.

6:19 a.m., suspicious circumstances — An officer investigated an open door to a bathroom near the livestock barns at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds on the 200 block of Southgate Drive.

10:14 a.m., theft — A woman on the 300 block of Mono Way said four to five video games were missing and named a suspect.

Fire calls


6:49 a.m., Pine Mountain Lake — Trash burning near a building on Rock Canyon Way started a structure fire and burned a wood pile. No additional information was available this morning. Groveland Community Services District Fire Department responded.

11:15 a.m., Sonora — City of Sonora Fire Department responded to a false alarm at Signature Theaters.


7:01 a.m., Sonora — A flue fire was reported on the 13700 block of Tuolumne Road North. Dollar damage was estimated at $11,000 to the attic and its contents. Pat and Lonnie Thomas of the same address own the house. California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Tuolumne County Fire Department and City of Sonora Fire Department responded.

8:06 a.m., Arnold — A caller said four teens, one wearing plaid hat, were "mooning" passing cars while another teen videotaped the episode.

8:58 a.m., Valley Springs — A caller reported Christmas decorations were stolen from a house on the 6300 block of Garner Place.

11:44 a.m., Arnold — A house on the 1400 block of Highway 4 was reported burglarized.

1:09 p.m., San Andreas — Deputies and a sergeant went to Calaveras High School for the third time since 8 a.m. because painters working at the school kept setting off an alarm.

2:51 p.m., Arnold — Obscenities were scratched into the front door of a house on the 30 block of Longman Lane.
