TUOLUMNE COUNTY

The Sonora Police Department reported the following:

FRIDAY

8:28 a.m., found property — A bicycle was found by an officer on Monte Vista Lane and placed in storage.

9:43 a.m., school assist — An ex-boyfriend harassed a student on the Sonora High School campus.

2:59 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A man was looking into truck windows at Prospector Park on West Bradford Avenue.

7:54 p.m., threats — A woman on Columbia Way said a neighbor threatened to punch her in the face.

7:55 p.m., controlled substances — Four or five children were reportedly smoking marijuana on South Washington Street.

10:40 p.m., fight — A man and woman argued on South Washington Street.

11:30 p.m., theft — A cab driver reported a customer did not pay on South Washington Street.

SATURDAY

1:42 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A customer at a South Washington Street store appeared intoxicated and tried to pay with some sort of stone.

6:44 p.m., theft — A woman shoplifted from a Sanguinetti Road store.

SUNDAY

9:11 a.m. animal complaints — Someone said a dog was barking and a FedEx receipt was taped to the door at a residence on East Jackson Street. 

10:13 a.m., suspicious circumstances — A man was wandering the neighborhood and talking to himself at North Norlin street. He said that he was “just checking the architecture of the houses.” 

9:35 p.m., suspicious circumstances — A woman wearing only a bra and short shorts stood on the side of the road at East Lyons Street and Greenley Road. 

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

9:40 a.m., Sonora area — Smoke was reported on Oxbow Lane.

10:11 a.m., Tuolumne — Documents were stolen after a break-in on Half-Mile Road.

10:33 a.m., Jamestown — A Hobbs Avenue man reported possible fraud, with pop-up ads on his computer demanding money to keep the computer from freezing.

11:06 a.m., Jamestown — A student acted aggressively and out of control at Jamestown Elementary School on Fifth Avenue.

12:52 p.m., Jamestown — A woman found a grenade in a storage unit on O’Byrnes Ferry Road with the pin still in it. The Calaveras County bomb squad responded and confiscated the grenade.

12:55 p.m., Long Barn — A woman on Highway 108 reported a possible scam when someone called claiming to be from the “Sonora Sheriff’s Department” and demanded she pay a utility bill. The caller claimed a warrant was out for her arrest.

1:50 p.m., Long Barn — A fire was seen on Jordan Way.

4:32 p.m., Sonora area — A wallet was reported stolen on Mono Way.

5:35 p.m., Columbia — Vehicles were drag racing on Knickerbocker Flat Road.

5:51 p.m., Dardanelle — Two motorcycles were involved in a non-injury crash on Highway 108.

8:18 p.m., Sonora area — A tire was slashed on Bellview Road.

7:35 p.m., Twain Harte — A Placer Drive woman threw a coffee table and lamp at her husband during a fight.

8:01 p.m., Columbia — Drag racing was reported on Knickerbocker Flat Road.

8:17 p.m., Long Barn — A teenager allegedly offered marijuana to children on Sarah Circle.

9:06 p.m., Columbia — A non-injury accident occurred on Parrotts Ferry Road.

9:46 p.m., Groveland — A fire occurred on Point View Drive.

10:37 p.m., Groveland — Someone broke into a Hillhurst Circle cabin and stole electronics and some new fixtures.

SATURDAY

11:21 a.m., Groveland — A theft was reported on Green Street.

1:28 p.m., Sonora area — Family members argued on Greenoaks Court.

2:26 p.m., Sonora area — Multiple youths shoplifted at a Mono way store.

3:31 p.m., Groveland — Two people were in some sort of fight on Mueller Drive.

5:02 p.m., Sonora area — Items were reported stolen from an American River Drive residence.

5:29 p.m., Soulsbyville — Someone broke a mailbox on Carlozzi Drive

6:33 p.m., Columbia — A large dog reportedly attacked a car on Big Hill Road.

6:48 p.m., New Melones —  A boater was stranded on New Melones Reservoir with six people on the boat.

8:14 p.m., Jamestown — Six to eight people were involved in a fight on Seventh and Fifth streets.

8:34 p.m., La Grange — A man was reported to be stealing a trailer on Soledad Road.

10:39 p.m., Jamestown — A vehicle hit a fence on Fifth Avenue.

11:06 p.m., Soulsbyville — A package was stolen from a house on Starr King Drive.

SUNDAY

11:10 a.m., Jamestown — A man on Eighth Avenue believed he was followed by deputies in traffic. He stopped his car in the middle of the road, got out and walked toward deputies that had followed him. He told the deputies that he knew they were going to stop him. No arrest was made.

4:05 p.m, New Melones Lake — A vehicle was stuck in the mud at a Tuttletown boat launch area. 

4:05 p.m., La Grange — A drunk man was passed out in the road on Pepito Drive. 

4:21 p.m. La Grange — A woman saw a man take an ice chest and a chainsaw from her Pepito Drive property. Her husband was able to retrieve the items. An arrest was made.

FRIDAY

12:26 a.m., Sonora — Andrew Raymond Clemo, 31, of the 19300 block of Susan Way, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of probation violation after an arrest on Mono Way and Industrial Drive.

SATURDAY

12:25 a.m., Soulsbyville — Robert James Stringfellow, 56, of the 20300 block of Crow Court, Sonora, was booked on suspicion of drug possession after an arrest on Tuolumne and Soulsbyville roads.

1:46 a.m., Sonora — Susan Plevancic, 47, of the first block of Wyckoff Street, was booked after an arrest at Columbia Way and North Washington Street.

1:48 a.m., Sonora — Michael Ward Morgan, 50, of the 200 block of Reservoir Road, was booked after an arrest an Stewart and Bradford streets.

2:19 a.m., Soulsbyville — Jackie Fay Barton, 51, of the 17300 block of Valley Oak Drive, was booked after an arrest on Highway 108.

12:15 p.m., Jamestown — Kenneth Dwayne Downey, 45, of 18900 Golden Dove Lane, Sonora, was booked after an arrest on Seventh Street at Seventh Avenue.

10:37 p.m., Sonora — Hal Eugene Cawthon, 59, of an unknown Jamestown address, was booked after an arrest on South Washington Street.

SUNDAY

4:30 p.m., Jamestown — Blain Alan Loy, 35, of the 14500 block of Stone Lane, Sonora, was booked after an arrest on the 100 block of Mill Villa Road.

CALAVERAS COUNTY

The Sheriff’s Office reported the following:

FRIDAY

6:03 a.m., San Andreas — Buildings and sidewalks on High School Street were spray painted. 

8:24 a.m., Milton — Cattle were scared by paragliders flying around Rock Creek Road. 

12:12 p.m., Valley Springs — A man approached women at a school. He told them he was new to the area and trying to make friends.

3:43 p.m., Valley Springs — Someone on Double Springs Road reported overly friendly people at a school.

10:08 p.m., Copperopolis — A man on Cheyenne Court wanted a woman removed from his house. 

SATURDAY

6:49 a.m., Valley Springs — Someone broke into a vehicle on Jenny Lind Road.

10:30 a.m., San Andreas — Hunters were barbecuing and drinking  on the roadside at Highway 12 and Central Hill Road.

 

SUNDAY

6:43 p.m., Copperopolis — Overdue children returned to their home on Papoose Drive.

4:37 p.m., Copperopolis —Trevor Jay Stanley Saltzman,19, of the 4900 block of Yuma Court, was booked on suspicion of burglary and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, after an arrest at Kiva Drive and Little John Road. 

3:40 p.m., Valley Springs — Anthony Ricci, 47, of the 9900 block of Shalimar Drive, was booked on suspicion of willful cruelty to animals and misdemeanor violation of a court order to prevent domestic violence after an arrest on the 800 block of Tuolumne Avenue. 

8:09 p.m., Angels Camp — Traci Katherine Chrisco, 44, of the 1400 block of South Main Street, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor willful cruelty to a child after an arrest at her home. 

 

SATURDAY

9:16 p.m., Valley Springs — Derrick Joseph Orcutt, 40, of the 300 block of Mariposa Street, was booked on suspicion of assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, petty theft and probation violation after an arrest at Highway 26 and Hogan Dam Road. 

SUNDAY

7:49 p.m., Angels Camp — Kristofer Patrick Bryant, 23, of the 7600 block of Shoreline Drive, Stockton, was booked on suspicion of drug possession, conspiracy to commit a crime, drug transportation and parole violation, after an arrest on Highway 4 and Stallion Way.

7:59 p.m., Angels Camp — Gina Lauren Bettencourt, 21, of the 7600 block of Shoreline Drive, Stockton, was booked on suspicion of drug possession and conspiracy to commit a crime after an arrest on Highway 4 and Stallion Way.
